Hungry Bear Restaurant

• Waitress service.
• The mashed potatoes.

“We tried the Hungry Bear. The food was good, Our waitress was very kinds and friendly! It has a nice route 66 ambiance. The Bear Potatoes (Hash browns with cheese and garlic) were very good and the Chicken Fried Steak was better than most.”

• Variety of menu items with adequate salad bar.
• Not directly adjacent to the highway, but on a major street.

“Good variety of home style food. Large portions and dinners include a one trip to the salad bar as an option. Seems to have a body of regulars who sit at the counter. There are booths in the front and tables in the back room. There is a separate but adjacent bar (we have never been in the bar). We have eaten here a couple of times a year for the last several years when we spend the night in needles. There are not a lot of choices that fit our tastes in needles. Nothing fancy, but a nice place to eat if you want to avoid the chains such as Dennys, McDonalds, etc. .”
