“Terrible attitude from the owner, he denied he was the owner and asked us to leave after we told him the chicken was raw.”

“Greeted when we arrived and when we left. Good selection on menu, staff very knowledgeable on menu. Very reasonably priced, soup or salad is included in the price of their dinner selection; don't see that in most restaurants.”

“Good food, service can be spotty at times. Watch out for drink refills as they'll ask you if you want a refill and not mention that it will be added to the bill.”

“Brunch was rather disappointing! The brunch menu differs from what was listed on their website. Their website listed brunch at $23 per person and said it included a glass of orange juice or champagne, an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. When we actual got was only an appetizer and a main entree for $19.00. Orange juice or champagne and the dessert are no longer included. What was appalling is they served spoiled spring mix lettuce in their salad and with the quiche appetizer. A chef should never allow spoiled lettuce to be served! This shows a lack of quality or care for what is suppose to be an upscale restaurant. The crab cake appetizer was good and my two companions enjoyed their salmon entree. I was disappointed in the egg white frittata. I could have gotten the same quality at any chain breakfast restaurant or a mom and pop establishment. For the money and quality, I would not recommend this restaurant. Too bad since they had a nice atmosphere.”

“My husband and I have dinner at grotto azure at least once a week and get take out pizza usually on Sundays. We have been coming to grotto for several years and always enjoyed it. Lately with new management the food is even better than it was before. We have never experienced bad service or been disappointed in the food. We recommend this adorable "our little Italian place" to everyone. The fords.”

“We celebrated our daughter's 6th birthday at The Grotto. Everything was wonderful. The atmosphere with the beautiful murals on the walls and the service was attentive and friendly. The staff even sang Happy Birthday and brought her a free cheesecake. This was our third time at the restaurant and we are definitely going to be customers for life. The restaurant is perfect for a date or taking the kids out for pizza, very reasonable and the portions are hearty. I would suggest this restaurant to everyone I know with or without children.”

“We celebrated our daughter's 6th birthday at The Grotto and everything was wonderful. The waitress was very attentive and the staff came a sang Happy Birthday to her with a free slice of cheesecake. They were even accommodating with splitting the pizza in 1/4's for my picky children. Overall, our experience was fun and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone I know with or without children. Definitely a romantic hot spot or fun night out.”

“This is a gourmet restaurant in Moorpark's Old Town. The atmosphere is quiet, pleasant, somewhat victorian inside, with a lot of wood. The food is excellent and expensive, but you get what you pay for. Everything we've had has been delicious, from salads to dessert. The secret garden part of the restaurant is behind the restaurant and great for outdoor dining. We've only sat out there for a graduation party, but it was very, very nice with grass, roses, trees and vines.”
