User Reviews for Los Angeles Restaurants« Go back to Hatfield RestaurantsResearch User Reviews for Los Angeles (1-20 of 75)A & T Burger
“This is a good place to eat, excellent food if you are on the go or if you would like to have a good hot meal. The Cooks are excellent and friendly. The cashiers are also friendly! When you order your food, you must pick your food up at another window! You have to get your own tray of food! I think they should bring the food to your table if they want a decent tip or actually, a tip at all! The food at A & T's is clean, safe & hearty! The food is really excellent! And the restaurant staff attitude is good! The bathroom can be a little taxing on the nerves; their bathroom needs to be consistently spotless, cleaned, and maintained! And, the place needs to make a more romantic feel for couples and to even hire a security guard to keep out those who are not even patronizing their establishment! No loitering! Don't let people hang out in their restaurant who are not real customers!”

“I ate at a Golden Corral in Aiken, SC on vacation. This was my first visit to a Golden Corral Buffet restaurant. The restaurant is so popular there that it is crowed with people eating and waiting to eat. The food was very well prepared and the steaks were as ordered. The variety of food and a high quality is mind staggering. This is an excellent restaurant and the only draw back is the fact that it is so popular that it is very crowded at peak dining hours. The food is excellent.”

“410 Boyd is the diamond in the ruff! The food there made by Max is amazing! Steak Gorganzola is all I have to say! Ck tortilla soup, is also to die for along with the bread that they serve at the table. Happy hour from like 4-8 pm, with great draft and wine prices. Overall friendly atmosphere, usually filled with regulars. But always friendly staff and owners! Definitely worth checking out, for a relaxing evening or just to grab some dinner and cocktails at.”

“We went on a Saturday night. Pomodoro is usually busy. My mom ordered a NY steak and was very specific in asking that it be pink in the middle as they have overcooked her steak before. When it came, she cut it open and the steak was well done all the way through except for the tiniest bit of pink. When we called the manager over, not only would he not take the steak back and make a new one, he argued with her, saying that there was pink in the steak and therefore she got what she ordered. I could not believe that this manager would argue with a customer, and he kept repeating that he was so busy that evening and couldn't make her a new one. I don't know about you, but I don't patronize restaurants that treat their customers this way. We will not be visiting Pomodoro again.”

“I used to frequent Good Earth in Berkeley when I lived in the Bay Area. There were many places I'd miss moving to L.A., and the Good Earth was one of them. Imagine my surprise when a friend hands me a gift card for the Good Earth in So. Cal. They have amazing food! Everythings always fresh! The hot food is always nice and hot, the cold food refreshingly crisp! The place is always neat and clean. Service is as fast as can be for a made-to-order, sit down restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat healthy food, with wonderful flavor and great pizzazz!”

“Superior restaurant with the freshest fish Ive ever had. The owner is the chef and goes everyday to the fish market to pick out the days catch. This is a quant spot and truly a hidden gem in Los Angeles. There is also outside dinning! The prices are very reasonable; the atmosphere is great, clean and plenty of parking. The other great thing if it's not on the menu, just ask theyll make it for you!”

“Having read several recent poor reviews on Lacachette, my husband and I became concerned about taking 2 friends there for dinner last Saturday evening. We worried for Naught. Everything was absolutely superb. Escargot, Foie Gras, New York Steak, Cassoulet, chocolate soufflé and tarts and the wine. Nothing short of a terrific dinner. Service was attentive and not cloying. He just could have paid a little more attention to us after we had paid our bill. We lingered to talk. But ignore those poor reviews. We would have missed a perfectly lovely wonderful evening of fine dining had we given them credence. This is a classic upscale, yet lovely and unsmooth restaurant. Food was absolutely great!”

“From the moment we entered the gate of Basted, we knew that we were in for something special. We were greeted with a friendly face, carrying two exquisite champagne glasses and a bottle of champagne. We were offered a seat in the garden area. As we sipped our champagne and nibbled on delicious bread sticks, we couldn't wait to see what our dinner would entail. We were brought to our table in the dining area. The tables are spaced far enough apart that you felt like you were the only two people in the restaurant. Every dish was described to us in detail. The wine that was pared with each dish was fantastic. The presentation of the food was gorgeous. They are two very talented individuals that are for sure. The food, wine, cheese and dessert were something that we had never experienced before. We walked away with a full stomach and a feeling inside that you knew you had just experienced something that you had never experienced before. It is indescribable. Basted - all I can say is "keeps doing what you're doing". You will go down in history as the best restaurant in Los Angeles!”

“This is a must read review. I celebrated my birthday at Koutoubia restaurant in Los Angeles and unfortunately I did not have the best experience. Overall, the restaurant ambience is beautiful and romantic gives you a glimpse of Morocco and hence why I celebrated my birthday here. However, the food is not as pleasing to the palate as it should have been for the price that was paid for the meal. $33.00 per meal! This price excludes tip and tax and the $10.00 Moroccan martini that is encouraged by the owner. I wasnt too sure of her role but she was kind of pushy on the drinks. Back to the food, the salad, couscous and a flakey pastry with ground meat was good, however, the main dishes like the chicken was dry and the lamb just average; both meats lacked seasoning and robust flavoring. The food portions are small too. The main reason for my writing this review is this. Toward the end of my celebration, he informs me that I owe an additional $330.00 for ten guests that did not arrive, mind you if the guests did not arrive; they did not order and thus did not eat! I was shocked that he would make this claim, for I had previously informed him 4 days before my birthday dinner that I will need an itemized check for my guests. Nevertheless, to make a long story short, I did not pay the $330.00 and learned a good lesson from this experience if you plan to have a birthday celebration at Koutoubia.”

“I've had a several visits to this restaurant in past seven years. First five years, I've had some experiences of up-sides and down-sides between food qualities and services over various occasions. During these times, my experiences were rather interesting since I did not know what to expect due to their inconsistency in food qualities or services. However, past couple of years, level of standard overall at Secret Garden has drastically improved. Specifically, I've had great experience with manager, Kim. It seems that the secret behind the overall improvement of Secret Garden comes from this highly knowledgeable manager who is upto date with U.S Food and Health criteria's as well as with hospitable customer service. I now am confident to invite guests from multi-cultural backgrounds for both purposes, business and /or pleasure.”

“I LOVE this place! I go to Jim Dandy often during my lunch break. I clearly remember the first day I tried their food. I went there on a weekend and noticed the long line. I easily parked in their large and convenient parking lot and got in line. As I waited in line, a man told me that this restaurant is in business for more than 30 years. I was really impressed because the place looks really clean and orderly. I ended up waiting in line for a long time, but it was worth it. I ordered the fried chicken, fried clams, and rice. It was SO tasty! I was surprised they served clams and I was really glad they did. It was fried just right. As a fast food, I give it five stars, but as a restaurant I give it a 4. I definitely recommend trying this place out!”

“Excellent place with great chips and salsa and good margaritas. Good food, fine for anyone - perhaps a little loud for a romantic candlelit dinner, but the atmosphere is romantic in its stone walls and darkly lit dining rooms. However, the wait staff is friendly and easy-going, enabling families to feel relaxed with kids, large groups or parties. It isn't overrun with college students - but should be since it is so close to USC and has great drinks and is a good place to just hang out and eat.”

“The delivery service is horrible. How can it possibly take nearly 3 hours to deliver a pizza on Monday at 4pm ? They call you after 2 hours to let you know its going to take another hour. With all the business they get, its sad that they are so cheap on getting a decent delivery system going.”

“Excellent authentic Japanese food for the price. Aki is a small cozy restaurant with good food, nice atmosphere, and very friendly service. My coworkers and I arrived for lunch shortly after the restaurant opened and we were seated right away. The place get pretty busy during the lunch hours but the service is excellent and so is the food!”

“Damianos Pizza (Mr. Pizza) Is an excellent spot hiding in West Hollywood! The food and portions couldn't get any better! The taste and the quality of the meals is above average! It's very dark, you can't barely read the menu (romantic?) The only thing that I find annoying is their Waitresses/Waiters not the smartest in CA, they tend to take a long time even to get the order, not to mention that they don't last long in this job! waiting time is also an issue certain days of the week! Of course when Mr. Damiano himself is there everything goes well, but as soon as he's gone. His crew starts lacking off! I recommend this place is you like good Italian food! Cal zones are the best!”

“As a native new Yorker who always finds it difficult to maneuver around all the restaurants in this huge, sprawling city, I have found my regular "spot" to visit whenever I find myself in loss angels. Sauk has everything to accommodate me on any personal or business lunches or dinners. Upscale, friendly and comfortable; the service is impeccable whiles prices are reasonable. Sauk has delicious, fresh and high quality sushi like Kobe beef attaché sushi (on my recent visit, a few days ago), blue crab, seared albacore sashimi and cool dishes like spicy tuna on a rice cake, which is apparently popular here (nonexistent in nick). For those who don't like sushi, there is a yakitori bar that serves healthy grilled chicken wings, beef short-ribs, and Japanese vegetables, as well as a generous kitchen that serves all kinds of good Japanese fare from rich marinated black cod, tempura plates and avocado salad (very Californian, might I add). I liked the nice range of drinks too, with organic Californian wines, lots of sake, and Japanese black beer.”

“One of the best Korean restaurants around. Everyone loves the ros gui and kimchi fried rice that follows but the Gop chang jang gol (stomach lining and intestine soup) is my absolute favorite. Sounds disgusting but it is phenomenal. If it sounds too scary for you don't miss out on the ros gui. Everyone raves about it.”

“I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary last tuesday. There weren't many people inside, so the dim lights really set the stage for a special night. All the food was exotic, but really good (and I'm a steak and potatoes kind of guy). Most importantly, my girlfriend couldn't believe I had found such a romantic place to spend our night. ”

“This place is not the most romantic, nor the does it have the best decor or service, but if you are looking for the BEST food in town and at a great price, THIS IS THE PLACE! They have one of the best Korean BBQ (Kal Bee) in town. They also have incredible Shabu Shabu that would put any other place you've had it to shame! You've will almost fall out of your chair when you see the mountain of vegetables that come with this dish. The meat is tender and the stuff that comes after all this is even better. Once you've finished the meat, vegetables, tofu etc., they add some udon noodles to the pot so for your next course. Then they add rice to make a delicious mixed rice porridge with seaweed, sesame oil and egg. It's delicious! If you can make it for lunch, they have an amazing deal. Korean BBQ meat with rice, soup, and about 6 other dishes on top of the small side dishes for less than $11! You will not be able to find a better quality meal anywhere! Downside, they don't accept reservations, and they get PACKED! No wonder! They also don't have the best service, however, they do have a button at your table to call the waitress. ”

“Swingers is a very eclectic little diner with good food and interesting people. The service, like the decor is quaint and original with a special something adding to the appeal. You can order everything from hummus to banana pancakes and all of it will excite your taste buds to the fullest extent. The place is also a popular late night hangout for random musicians. If you go any time after nine, expect to wait. I most definitely recommend this hip joint and if you go, sit at the counter, order the turket chili and you never know what kinds of characters you'll meet.”

“Having been a long time patron of Amagi (10+ years), I have seen them go through some changes. The most recent incarnation is not that much different than the original just LOUDER!!! The clientele has picked up considerably, and the live music featured in the dining room can make it hard to hear your table mates. The menu has expanded to include Thai food, and the prices have jumped a little, but it is still a good deal. The sushi chefs are amazing, and the Karaoke Lounge is completely separate from the dining room, and adjacent to the bar. which is good depending on who is trying to sing... Almost like 3 locations under 1 roof. ”

“My family was vacationing in CA (Hollywood). We saw the nondescript pizzeria & decided to stop in for a snack. Now, I have had pizza in Chicago, New York, Boston, St. Louis, Detroit (of course) & many other places around the country. I found this pizza to be as good as any & better than most. There were some young men hanging out in one of the booths who I guessed were your typical Hollywood street people & I was going to buy a pizza for them, but the language they used in their conversation made me decide otherwise. I will definitely be heading back that way for some great food!”

“This place serves salsa that tastes like marinara sauce and it was obvious that they used canned enchilada sauce. My companion felt ill immediately upon leaving the establishment. Why does everyone like this place? Its really schlocky, third-rate food (affordable, to be sure). I'd never even think about going back there.”

“The best chicken you ever had People wait in line for this chicken. They are always crowded, especially on weekends. But, its well worth the wait. Your chicken will be freshly fried because they constantly run out because of so many orders. The fritters are the best. And I really like their cajun rice. They also carry fish and chips. And make sure to try to sweet potato pie. This is one of the first places I visit when going back home. ”

My son said that it was very good and I would like it as they offered many vegetarian dishes. The food is amazing. I had a tofu dish that was the very best I have ever had anywhere period. I want to return to try another of their vegetarian/vegan dishes. The Grand Luxe Cafe is my first choice for dining in this area.”

“This restaurant is conveniently located to theaters and shops. Parking is easily available. The food is good. service is efficient, although some of the personnel are not fluent in English. My main complaint was the irritatingly loud "music." When I asked the manager to turn it down he ignored my request. In fairness, some folks who enjoy loud music to accompany their dinner may not be affected.”
