“This is a cute little place on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. The food is good and they have a good wine list. The prices are reasonable and usually there isn't a really long wait. The pastas are great and the soup, which they make, is really good. Nice, fresh warm bread, too.”

“The place has a great aroma, but other than that, very ordinary at best. Too much oil, too much salt and lousy service.”

“Marris's is a great little neighborhood Italian restaurant. We've been several times and have never been disappointed. The minestrone soup is especially tasty with heaps of fresh vegetables in a savory broth. Pizza sauce is tasty, crust is medium thickness and the toppings are very generous. The pasta dishes are also winners. I also have tried the Diavolo pasta dish- it certainly earned it's name for it's sneak up on you spiciness, very tasty too! It's a bit kitchy inside but helps maintain the feel of a family run, homey place. Give it a try if you're looking for some simple, tasty Italian fare.”

“My husband and I happened on this restaurant during a recent visit to Long Beach when we were looking for a spot to grab lunch and dine al fresco. Everything we had was delicious and we ended up going back for dinner that same night as well. While everything that we had was delicious the sangria and Tres Leches are both must haves!”

“My husband and I love this place. We do, occasionally take our children, but you need to walk through the bar to get to the restaurant. The prices are fantastic! For $14.99 my husband gets a large porterhouse with relish tray, salad, soup, potato, garlic toast and a small pudding for dessert. Just the right touch after a big meal! Their drinks are very reasonably priced, as well.”

“This is one our favorite places to go. We love to take some quarters and play all our old favorites from our own juke box right on the table! No one minds if you sing along! Our kids always get a special treat, like Black Cow or Cherry Malt. The liver and onions is especially good and the chili is great on burger, omelet, hash browns, hot dog or other items. We love the fun, casual atmosphere. We took Grandma and Grandpa when they visited from Lowa and they felt right at home!”

“This place is a dream come true for anyone who is even a little burnt out on Subway! Once you try it you will never order a Subway sandwich again. The sandwiches are excellent quality, made with fresh products. When I say fresh I don't mean fresh out of the bag, I mean they are fresh. At first glance I said to myself "hey this is just like Subway", then I tasted my sandwich (which I didn't think I would finish but managed to stuff it all in!) and it was over. I ate there with my boss. He is a wealthy Jewish man with high standards for everything and after he ate his entire sandwich and bowl of soup. He walked up to the staff and told each one what a great sandwich shop this really is. Now that's proof!”

“Louie's Burgers has the best fast food menu in Long Beach! They are well-known in Long Beach for their awesome burgers & fries! Everything on the menu is great-tasting, so don't be shy when you place your order! I used to live in Long Beach and this was the most popular place to eat for burgers, it's too bad they don't have a chain in or near La Puente. The atmosphere is family-friendly, but definitely not a place to take a romantic date to choose another quieter restaurant.”

“I know it's generally not PC to give 10s across the board, but George's deserves it. I dine at both the Pine St. and 2nd St. locations regularly (and have for many years) and have NEVER had a bad dining experience. Every single time, the service has been exemplary, the staff friendly and fun, the food superb, the atmosphere perfect, and the time spent regulated by me and my companions, never being prolonged or rushed by the workers. I cannot recommend it more highly. Dishes to try: Saganaki (a MUST!), Kalamari, Spicy Feta, Tiropita, Salmon (Grilled or Stuffed), and Shrimp Souvlakia. Don't forget dessert!”

“This is definitely a restaurant that caters to families and is very senior friendly. Actually quite a few of the waiters were seniors and quite friendly. Immediately, upon entering the restaurant, you see that the food is displayed behind glass counters where you get to choose a meat entree & three sides for a great price. The food was tasty especially the Cranberry chicken stuffed with cornbread dressing (yummy) & the Smothered Short ribs (very tender & tasty). The menu varies depending on the day that you visit. We have eaten there twice and both times were on Sundays. We did not have to wait in a long line. A very homey place, nothing fancy at all. Just comfortable.”

“Breakfast we brought our new grand-baby many times and they always helped us. It is a slower pace and this is so you feel you are in Europe at a cute little cafe and they give you time to relax something I fall short on but do enjoy it when we go there. It is an enjoyable place to relax and enjoy but do save time for a longer visit.”

“Fabulous Burgers features any number of fast-food choices, from Mexican specialties to Rueben sandwiches. They offer omelets with hash browns, or chili cheese fries, types of food. The service is good at the windows usually, but inside, the waitresses appear more concerned with chatting with their co-workers than serving you. I'm not sure if it's me, but it seems like all the males handle the cooking and the front service is done by women. The people that order in are a mixture of East Long Beach residents mostly, with the usual untrained children bouncing Super balls on the floor, until they either come dangerously close to your plate or you say a harsh word, at which they look at you as if you've crossed some moral boundary for correcting them, but stop. The families in the corner booths have always been a pain in the rear, because they generally have at least one screaming baby and four toddlers. It's a place where you'll see brand new SUVs or the latest barrio choice in cars parked outside. The food is average for such a place, probably a good value. The portions are good. The decor? Well it's red and white and nothing unusual for a place Named Fabulous Burgers. .”

“Whether you want to have lunch, dinner or a good time dancing this place has it all. If you go there for lunch, the prices are cheaper and you get more for your buck, dinner is a little pricier but the food quality is great regardless if your in the mood for dancing or even smoking a hookah then come here on the weekends. They have belly dancing and immediately following is their night club where they play top 40's, house and Arabic Persian music. Great service, great entertainment, great food. Enough said!”

“I discovered this restaurant because of a TV review. I love it. I was recently in Paris and was hard pressed to find the variety and quality of crepes that creepier has. You must be adventuresome and try all the different types. One of my favorites was found when I tried something different. Service is a bit slow although it is usually pretty busy. I do think they should pay more attention to new arrivals to see that they, at least have a drink in front of them. Quality of food eventually makes up for that. There is usually a wait for seating but now that they have moved to a larger venue it's a bit better. However, if you do have to wait, it's worth it. Much kudos.”

“What a great find, possibly one of the best restaurants in long beach / Belmont shore. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the fried potatoes, kibbi, hummus (outstanding the best I have ever had) and the chicken tawook plate. The restaurant has beautiful decor and the server was really friendly.”

“Razzing is a local small Italian restaurant. They have great pizza! Their pasta dishes are respectable and the food is definitely a good value for the money. There is a big screen TV and one pool table. You can usually depend on quite a few kids running around. Allot of local family's dine there. As far as business traveling. I travel on a regular basis and prefer to find local hangouts with good food versus chains and fancy fare; consequently, for my tastes, I would love to find a razzing when I¿m traveling.”

“We wanted a nice, romantic restaurant in long beach. We read reviews before we left about the sky room and booked a reservation. We hated the sky room! The view and music were good and that's about all! We waited 2 and1/2 hours for a salad and piece of bread. The service was one of the worst ever. The staff was busy visiting at the bar. When we questioned where our food was, the waiter got very snippy with us. The food came almost 3 hours after we arrived. It was average and warm (not hot). We paid over 0 for a less than average meal and horrible service. There are much better places to eat in long beach. One of our worst dining experiences ever!”

“Contrary to some of the reviews I have read, I have been to La Creepier about 5 times. Each time has been on a Saturday evening when they have had live gypsy jazz music by the band, The Mezzanines. They provide a wonderful ambiance and add to the life of the restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the crepes. The service could improve since it is a very busy place and the waiters are way too busy to give personal attention, but regardless my review of this classy decorated and beautiful place is still an overall 10! Go on a Saturday when the music fills the air.”

“I thought I was the only one had bad service in that place. The waitress totally ignored us for the entire meal time, and we complained to our busboy who is really nice and sweet to us. After few minutes our waitress came by instead of saying sorry she questioned us with very bad attitude why we were not satisfied with her service, and I told her that we didn't get bread or water for the first half hour, she didn't even come by to ask what we need. After I told her that, she got mad and left. That was the worst server I ever had. I ended up giving all the tips to the bus boy, he was the only one took care of our table that night. That was a really bad experience, but I do like their food though.”

“This is the only place where I get both the appetizer and a dessert after a wonderful meal, yes I make extra room when it's the best. Start with the foi grass, you wont be disappointed I promise and make sure you end your meal with a souffle, Andre makes the best on the west coast. Take your time with dinner and ask your host to pair the wine to your meal, she knows what will be the right accent for the meal you've chosen. French's isn't cheap, but it's just right for a special occasion. One more thing, if I had a choice to go anywhere in the area I live, my first choice is always French's, with that said, enjoy dinner!”

“Overall unimpressed despite other's glowing reviews. Food was mediocre at best. Three of us went by tonight for the first time; my friend said it looked like a "Sharkeys" trying to be a bit more classy. The place is family friendly. Meaning it is loud and everybody gets to sit real close to each other in small booths or tables. The salads and some pasta entries can be served in incremental amounts to serve up to about eight people. Service was fine; tableware was dirty. As for the food, we tried their house salad, Supreme Pizza and a Chicken Parmasana. The house salad comes with a 'special' dressing that is basically a thick (really thick) Caesers dressing with garlic; we liked it. Lots of fresh Romaine, olives and some tomatoes. The pizza came covered with copious amounts of shredded pepperoni, sausage, olives and onions in a light tomato sauce. The crust was not too thin, not too full...but hard and tough. Good pizza crust is firm on the bottom and soft on the inside; we could tell this crust came from less-than-overwhelming dough. As for the chicken parm...skip it and save yourself some grief. Sliced chicken chunks (chunks!) served over rottelli pasta drowning in a red sauce covered in some kind of gooey mess. The chicken was dry -- my impression is it had been out for a while and likely doubles as a topping for the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Garlic bread was a decent hoagie roll with some butter and garlic on top. I've seen worse. But with the profusion of places small and large up and down 2nd Street I would definitely seek culinary solace elsewhere. These guys have been in business a long time, probably because they've been in a good location for a long time. But if you need to sit six kids and four adults down for some decent noodles and meatballs...you have found your place.”

“I had lunch at La Creperie Cafe today and from the moment our party sat down, we were surprised. Four out of the five forks on our table were visibly dirty and sticky. We asked for new utensils and it took over 10 minutes to get them when only three tables in the restaurant were occupied. Next, two people in our party ordered a salad and only one person got their salad. We waited, waited and waited - no salad and no waitress for another 10 minutes. The next time we saw our waitress, she had our entries and no apologies for the missing salad. Instead of a modest apology, we got major attitude from the waitress. It's too bad because the food is good (credit to the cooks), but with such poor service and cleanliness issues - the place leaves much to be desired. Even with a forgiving group like ours, we found ourselves talking about the HORRIBLE SERVICE for an hour after we left. Management needs to closely examine who they hire, because a couple of servers made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. Bad service leaves a lasting impression and overshadows the experience. They need to get their act together!”

“I have tried 3 times now to have a good experience at this raved about restaurant but have been very disappointed. On one occasion our party of 4 ended up leaving. We were having drinks at the bar waiting for our table and the hostess told us our table was ready. We paid the bar bill and went straight to the hostess station and was told we did not have a table at that time. We went back over to the bar area to wait and decided to eat there instead. It was a good 15 minutes before a server came over to us. My friend ordered a vodka martini and said it didn't taste right. Then I saw on the menu that it was a rice vodka and the server had not let us know before hand and still charged for it. Finally after another almost 10 minutes we decided to leave since the server did not come back. As we were leaving the manager asked if he could help us and I told him about the experience and he offered no apology, only the next available table. We decided to go to another restaurant. It is too bad though because the place is really cute and the crepes are good, but they definitely lost us as customers because the don't hire enough staff for a busy restaurant. They should have stayed small if they couldn't handle the business.”

“This is a good family restaurant where you can eat for less than $20. Their $5 pizza is good. They have a well rounded menu of pasta with a variety of sauces. Their antipasto salad is real good and a great bargain for the price. This is not a gourmet food stop, its good food for a good price.”

“Oh my gosh! I have never been so elated by a dining experience. There are fancier places and there are more exciting places, but there will never be a more perfect place than this. My sister and I were treated like favored guests in the home of a gracious host. And the food!!! Never before have I experienced such joy from my palate! The food will literally make you smile from the sheer joy of eating. If I could have pried myself from the table I swear there would have been angels with wings cooking up such delicacies as their seafood lasagna. Manga! I do believe my right eye shed a tiny tear when I had to leave. Let me say also that I can't wait to go back. This place deserves to be blessed with the very next special occasion. Hope to see you there, bye!”
