“I had my two children with me and we decided to go to Tony Roma's on Bullard and West for a relaxing, give mom a break evening. We were seated behind the bar area in a booth. I only wish we had been seated farther from the front, because my five year old picked up some new words from an employee arguing with someone on the phone at the front, within earshot. My two year old daughter crawled under the table, and came up with a roach in her hand. I almost passed out. We paid for the drinks, and left, we didn't order any food, I wouldn't have been able to eat it after that.”

“I went to the chilis on Fresno street and they rock! I had margaritas, ribs and even those new quadrilles staff was super helpful, she sat down at our table and took our order like she was our friend, I loved it! She showed me the menu and told me about her favorite the honey BBQ ribs, they were fantastic! I saw 3 managers walk in around and chattin. one even brought me my food! They all stopped by and said hello to me like I was royalty. I love this chilis.”

• Staff is always friendly and we get our food promptly. This one of my favorite stops when we come into Fresno.
• They don't sell their coffee in grounds or beans, nor will they let you know the brand. Big secret.

“Uncle Harry's was introduced to us by our oldest son. We would pass them while on the road, but thought it was more a college kids hang out. Not so. Ever since, my husband and I have been regular on Saturday mornings. There are a few Uncle Harry's in Fresno, but our favorite one to go to is the one on Shaw and Marks. It has a tiny parking lot and is located across from a Donut shop. You have to be careful or you might miss it. We are big fans of their Blueberry Blitz bagels and they seem to produce the best tasting ones. Not sure why, but seem to be bake to perfection. They have many kinds of bagels to choose from and they are all pretty tasty. We are big coffee drinkers and we feel by far, they have the best coffee in town! You will definitely get hooked. As far as we are concerned their coffee surpasses Starbuck's by far any day. There are several different roasts to choose from, but our favorite is the European blend. Sometimes, we go just for the coffee. All the Uncle Harry's we've been in provide a nice sit down environment, but again I have to say the one on Shaw and Marks, even though it's probably the smallest of them all has the coziest environment. We usually don't have time to sit down as we are on the go on Saturday's as we come down from the mountains to do our shopping. However, we find ourselves driving out of the way just to stop there. We are big Uncle Harry fans, so much so that we keep a map of all the locations of Uncle Harry's in Fresno in both cars. If you love bagels/bagel sandwiches and coffee, this place is a must to stop.”

• Great Osso Bucco and Chippino and good specials. .
• Not one negative.

“One of Fresno's best kept secrets, as far as Italian restaurants go. Owners are from Italy, food is home style, very tasty, good portions, great service and ambiance. Where else can you find a restaurant, where the cook and his wife greet you and take care of you personally? There may be another restaurant that states when you're here you're family, but this is.”

“" Toledo's Mexican restaurant was the best place I've ever eaten love the Mexican food it doesn't taste fake like other restaurants around Fresno. I think this place has the best service because from my experience the waiter we had was so nice and funny and she was on task to every thing we needed. I think the prices were fair because if you go to any other place the prices are about the same and plus it was worth it!”

• Fantastic, friendly service. Good food and relaxed atmosphere.

“Terry and his staff make orbit cafe a friendly place to visit. My family and I are regulars. We have never had a bad meal, the place is conducive to children, and the staff is great hosts. I highly recommend a visit to this neighborhood cafe. You too will become a regular.”

• Music was good.
• Drinks overpriced, door overcharged.

“Went to bebe's and if you are not middle eastern good luck, you get no love there. You can tell who is a regular or part of their family. Drinks are overpriced, it is bad enough they charge $10 to get in to party but I paid $8.50 a drink all night. I guess they have to pay for their channel bags somehow!”

Yoshino Restaurant & Sushi Bar

• Mat roll still good if no roaches.
• Roaches.

“I used to frequent the old Yoshino, that was until last Saturday night. There was a cockroach on one of the boats at the sushi bar! I discreetly mentioned it to our waiter, and he smashed it with his thumb right in front of my wife while she was seated! That was not the worst. The worst, was that the waiter said that the manager said I would be "taken care of", and I was still charged for my dinner! There are too many other fine clean and Courteous Japanese restaurants in Fresno!”

“The food was fair but the service was terrible!! They must have a great base of loyal customers because apparently they do not want new customers. I felt very unwelcome in the restaurant and will never go back. My advice: Bobby Salazar's is just a few feet down the mall - good food and always good service. Skip Mika's.”

“I think the food here is awesome Whoever thought it was not good has no taste at all, not only is the food authentic but homemade, I have worked at other Mexican restaurants in Fresno and Clovis and not only does no one else's food compare to Toledos but there are nowhere near as friendly as at Toledo's I have been going there since I was 9 years old and 15 years later they are no only still in business, but also Opening more Toledo's in town and people are always asking them to open more around the valley I wish there was one in my hometown of Sanger because I love it so much I'll make the 20 mile trek north just for the chips and salsa, but if it was right around the corner I would be there everyday, don't listen to whoever wrote that bad review they need a wake up call, not only Has Toledo's been voted #1 Mexican restaurant in the valley by the Fresno bee 3 years in a row but also nominated by the CRA the last 8 years, do your research before writing a restaurant review like I did, P.S. if $30 is too much for a dinner for two, stay home and cook some spam because 95% of all restaurants say $25-$30 is average for a dinner for two.”

Toledo's Mexican Restaurant

• Good menu and excellent food.
• Whole fish entire prepared with too much oil.

“We ate at Toledo's on Shaw a year ago with friends while traveling. Interesting menu, food was well-prepared and clearly fresh. Though I can eat at the inexpensive Mexican restaurants, I prefer a restaurant with more variety on the menu and quality on the plate, and Toledo gave us that last year. Sometimes that means the meal costs a little more, though I would not say this is an expensive restaurant. We plan to visit there again soon and will update this review if anything has changed. ”

• affordability reasonable prices
• the atmosphere isn't too high class since its mainly a to go place.

“the food is excellent, and the price isn't too bad either, compared to what you would normally get at panda express next-door. its quiet reasonable, and I normally stop by at least once or twice a week to pick up a to go dinner. my favorite dish there is their pineapple chicken fried rice. it is seasoned perfectly, its not just a plain chicken fried rice where they just added pineapples, they definitely season it differently.”

“This is one of our favorite places in town! It is always clean and no waiting. Although it's a casual dining room the waiters are very professional, refilling your glass constantly. The chicken chili jam is our favorite dish, and the Thai tea is great!”
