“This is a quality place and, thankfully, the food is reliably of great quality as well. The staff is attentive but not intrusive and it is possible to hear what the person(s) seated at your table with you are saying. Hot food and nice folks. Worth several return visits.”

“I agree with previous review, the food [Tappan and sushi] is wonderful. We love cog the sushi chef, he is the bomb! Tony in Tappan is also great. The only draw back is the front hostess area. Reservations never happen when they should, not even close. The hostess is usually rude or bothered by your presence in 'their' area, and you feel like they would be happier if you just left. Once you past the 'guards', everything is so much better! So if you have not tried it. Do. If you own it, or know the people that do, tell them they need friendly/inviting/welcoming hostesses for their front door. .”

“If you're tasting sushi runs to the elaborate rolls invented in non-traditional sushi bars (which have nothing to do with Japanese sushi), you may find Kijima a bit boring, but if you like authentic Japanese sushi, where simple fish and real Japanese garnishes are the heroes, Kijima is by far the best in Fresno. In fact, it's really the only sushi bar I've found in Fresno that's worth going to. The setting is plain, but the sushi is excellent. The owner and sushi master, Kijima-san, has a wealth of wonderful little treats tucked away behind the sushi bar. Ask him to surprise you. If you've traveled in Japan and long for a refreshing reminder, try Kijima.”

“Food is excellent and service is very prompt and efficient once seated. As someone else mentioned, they are not always big on customer service. We are regular frequenters of this restaurant, and some days we are treated as one of the family with great respect and courtesy and other times we feel like we are greatly putting people out. Word has really gotten out about the food here obviously, because traffic has picked up quite a bit from when we first began going here over 10 years ago. Where once we did not have to put in reservations for a good sized party of six or more, you definitely need to do so now- especially on the weekends. Expect a cold response if you show up with a big party and do not have a reservation. We no longer make that mistake.”

“The only thing here is that the front service is horrible. If you make a reservation @ 7 don¿t expect to sit down until 7:30. It's funny they give you grief when you are not on time but for them you can be on time and they take their time. One thing this restaurant is really quick at, is giving you the check before you are done eating... Overall, though the food is excellent.”

“Awesome Restaurant... Seems to have all the ingredients for greatness, but seemed quiet while we were there. The menu is American all the way except for the heavy use of Truffles (4 dishes had some sort of truffle on its ingredients descriptions), Foie Gras (bread service came automatically with it and two appetizers on the menu were based on it) and Bone Marrow? Now there aren't too many Chefs in the Central Valley of California this creative. The wine list is five or six pages long and very interesting (Miscellaneous Cabernet's from the 1980's & 1970's). Heard they have Live music on Fridays. We were not disappointed by anything.”

“The food is to die for! The bread is delicious, The ranch is so fresh and homemade! I cant get enough of the fettuccini alfredo, spaghetti and the mushroom sauce will make you melt! Don't forget to ask for it Alforno, that's with melted cheese all over the top. My associates and I loved it and wont stop raving about it!”

“When we lived in Clovis we would go to the 500 club almost every evening for dinner, drinks, snacks, friendship, etc. The former chef, Simon, was super. All the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. We met Alan Autry, mayor of Fresno and actor, at the 500 Club. Everyone and the atmosphere is very friendly and FUN.”

“We feel that eating at Sandys was great. Sandy and her employees are exceptional and we always felt at home. We hope someday to return and see all of our old friends. If by chance you should read this Sandy we had the st.bernard puppy Alexander and we used to bring him to see you 2000-2001.”
