Harvard Square Cafe
Aug 1, 2008 by Jody from Upland

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Food was great.
  • Waiter was rude.

“I took my friend to Harvard Square for her 50th birthday with a couple other ladies, and the waiter was not friendly at all, he was rude and it seemed like he did not want to be there or even wait on us. But the food is always great and the patio outside is nice too. I think the waiter needs to find something that makes him happy because waiting on tables it not for him.”

Rillos Restaurant
May 15, 2008 by Armando from Fontana

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everything.
  • It went out of business.

“Rillos was the best Italian restaurants around. Very elegant, with home made type of dishes, great wine list, the best wedding soup ever, and in the lounge they used to have the best piano player/entertainer. (where did he go to?).”

Danson Restaurant The
Nov 25, 2007 by Charity from Upland

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[3] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Espies salad, margaritas, chips & salsa.
  • Mexican food.

“I love the Espies salad, margarita's, chips & salsa. The food, especially the Mexican food, needs improvements. I know the owner is relatively new and doesn't want to change things since it's worked for years, which I agree to an extent. Leave the things alone that work, but update the recipes for the Mexican food. I bet you'd have more return customers. We'd like you to be around for many more years, but I don't go there for the food anymore!”

Tutti Mangia Italian Grill And Bar
Nov 9, 2007 by Amelia from Claremont

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[5] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The atmosphere is nice. .
  • Over priced, small portions, some dishes poorly prepared.

“Tutti mangia's prices continue to climb at a precipitous rate. Meanwhile, their food once quite good has become mediocre, and sometimes bad. Their halibut is relentlessly overcooked. (when last we were there, we cautioned our guests, 'don't order the hockey puck.') Tomato based pasta sauces are over salted. The portions have been shrinking to keep pace with the expanding prices: the gorgonzola salad we ordered last time was twice as expensive as it was a few years ago, and half the size. The service is interesting. Even with reservations, parties that are women get poor seats. The second time they offered to seat my mother and me in a cramped back table while there were several other better available locations and after I had made reservations well ahead of time, we simply walked out. Service is uneven. It has, on occasion, been excruciatingly slow. .”

Danson Restaurant The
Oct 11, 2007 by cathy from claremont

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Love the new bar area and outside eating area.
  • People are still aloud to smoke outside.

“We eat here all of the time, at least 2 or 3 times a week. We love it, and the service is always good. The food is fresh and always good. They have the freshest salad I've had anywhere. The soups are very good, as are the chips. We buy the chips and take them home for parties often. We take clients here as well as enjoy it with the family as our favorite home town place to eat. All the food is good; we've had everything on the menu at one time or another. It's not fancy at all; very casual which is what we love when we don't feel like getting dressed up for a nice dinner. We do enjoy the nicer restaurants, but for a casual place this is the place we go most often.”

Viva Madrid
Jun 24, 2007 by Irene from Pacific Palisades

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Sangria and atmosphere.
  • No reservations.

“This is a very lively place. The food was wonderful and fresh. There were so many items on the menu it was hard to choose. We were able to make friends with the table next to us and shared our food. The tomato bread, shrimp in wine, toast with pears, lamb chops, and tortilla were fabulous. I don't know what they do to the lamb, but I have never had lamb that good. We loved the sangria which was loaded with grapes, watermelon and cantaloupe--yummy. I can't wait to go back.”

Danson Restaurant The
Mar 5, 2007 by Mariana from Claremont, CA

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[3] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • I enjoy the live music. Their coffee and signature salad are good.
  • The bathrooms are limited and usually dirty. The service is poor, and the food is mediocre.

“I have eaten there 3 or 4 times. Unfortunately, the food hasn't gotten any better for liking. I know Iżm a picky eater, and I have certain expectations when I dine out. So, why do I return? The damson hosts a live band, and I happen to enjoy their music. The band is what keeps me going back. They're called random spark or something like that. If you decide to eat there, go when they are there, which is the 1st Friday of the month. About the atmosphere, it's ok. Since Claremont is a nice, sleepy tow and doesn't have too many places to hang out, the danson is ok. Sit outside and you'll enjoy the people watching.”
