Tanuki Sushi Bar & Garden
Jun 16, 2008 by glb from Texas

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great all-around.
  • Nothing at all was negative about our visit.

“Amazing. Surprises can be found in the tiny retirement and military community of Sierra Vista. This is one treasure that needs to be shared, and definitely should not be missed if you enjoy great Japanese cuisine. We tried a huge variety of sushi, salads, sake, desserts and wine. There was not a single disappointment among them. This is a must try on your restaurant list if you are in the SV vicinity.”

Daisy Maes Stronghold
Dec 29, 2007 by Rob from San Francisco, CA

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[2] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Patron margaritas.
  • Everything else.

“I was here a few weeks ago to celebrate the birthdays of two co workers. We had around 25 people at the table. The service was extremely slow due to the one waitress initially working there (they could have planned ahead, considering they knew we had reservations for a large party). I ordered a halibut steak which was cooked awfully! It was dry and poorly seasoned. To further add insult, my sides came in separately from my main dish the staff member just haphazardly slopped it on my plate in front of me. This happened to everyone else sitting beside me: poor service and poorly made food. Their steaks were also dry and burned, quite tragic for a facility which serves steaks as a main dish. I ordered two patron margaritas which were good, but paying for them took ages because the staff did not know the exact cost. I felt like they were arbitrarily adjusting the price on me how unprofessional! Overall, my experience was awful and I would not recommend this steakhouse to anyone with a modicum of class.”

  • Nothing positive about this experience.
  • Food on the floor under the table next to me was never cleaned up.

“The food is very mediocre and over priced. Service is very slow. Sauces are pre-made and over salted. Steak not cooked to specification. Overall experience was not positive.”

Mesquite Tree Restaurant
Mar 9, 2007 by Anna from Phoenix

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[1] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Atmosphere.
  • Handling of my complaint about having been poisoned by their food.

“My family and I have been eating at the mesquite tree for years (having grown up in sierra vista and my mom still lives there). We've always had fairly good service and food, with the occasional slip. However, this past march 3, 2007, after we ate dinner and shared their bowl of salad, carafe of water and breaded zucchini, we all became severely ill from, what I believe to have been, food poisoning. We were all violently sick and confined to our beds and bathrooms until the following Monday afternoon. I also had to cancel my patients because I could not drive back to phoenix on Sunday and was still feeling queasy through Tuesday afternoon. Now, I appreciate that restaurants are susceptible to the possibility of food-borne bacteria. After all, it is a restaurant. Unfortunately, when I spoke with Scott, one of the managers on duty, he offered only to have us return for a second chance and we'd be given free appetizers. Free appetizers!? That's what patrons get when the meal is served an hour late. Not when a family suffers excruciating pain from having been poisoned. And yes, I filed a complaint with the health department as well.”

Cold Stone Creamery
Nov 5, 2006 by Daniella from Holcomb

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • I loved how the mixed the flavors together to make one flavor.
  • I really didn't like too much how long the line was when we went and how they weren't many table to sit at.

“Cold Stone Creamery was awesome! I have never been to an ice cream shop like this one before! The service was great; the ice cream was great and the location was even better. I wasn't too sure of what to order when my husband and I went and that was no problem. They fixed us up great! And to make it even better, they gave us so much that we had leftovers for days to come for a very low price. Best ice cream place ever!”
