“Experienced George Inlet Lodge while doing a tour from the Radiance of the Sea Ship. The Dungeness crabs were to die for and it was my first time eating them. The staff was very entertaining and they worked very hard to please. The cheese cake dessert was smooth and creamy. It was a wonderful afternoon. Do remember that there are about 79 steps down to the restaurant and if you need a ride up let the staff know.”

• Quick, friendly service.
• I'm not positive about this, but I think smoking is allowed.

“We were touring Ketchikan in the pouring rain and looking for a quick, tasty lunch. I ordered the fried halibut which was fabulous, and my husband ordered creamed chip beef on toast which came on a huge platter. Service was helpful, friendly and quick. We enjoyed eating is a restaurant that was not "touristy." It was just what we were looking for- nothing fancy, but seemed like "authentic Alaska."”

• When you walk in it all begins.
• They close at 2 am.

“Once you have a niche at the First City no other bar will ever compare- ever. hands down. The funniest bars are in Southeast Alaska and the First City is the best of the best. If you can't have fun in that bar you are dead. ”

• The food, the people, the prices and the accessibility.
• Not enough tables.

“The Pioneer Cafe is easy to find, but more of a restaurant for local customers. We met nice, friendly people, shared a table with a young military man and were served more than an ample breakfast. The food was good and so was the coffee. The prices were very reasonable. It was an overall great experience; a great way to begin a tour of Ketchikan.”
