“I had the hot and sour soup, which was impressive. They used local ingredients (e.g. halibut) which gave it a local flare. Very spare interior, but ample windows to be able to look out a bit at the spit. Saw eagles landing on adjacent buildings which was pretty cool.”

“I was told about Fat Olives by the Ocean Shores Motel in Homer. (Excellent Motel by the way, ocean views!) We went our for second night in town and WOW, what a great place! Excellent menu with a wide variety of salads and appetizers. My friend ordered the marinated Rib Eye. I tried the fettuccini with meat balls and both were excellent! The gentlemen at the next table were raving about the pizza and how they travel to Homer every year, look forward to all meals at Fat Olives! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who travels to Homer Alaska.”

“The restaurant is somewhat pricy but well worth it. Try to get a window table.”

“They make the largest pizzas-to-go I have ever seen. The Noanie's salad, with candied walnuts, crumbled bleu cheese, and thinly sliced apples, is excellent. The pizza is thin and perfectly cooked. The slice-of-the-day is almost as big as a regular 12-inch pizza. Also, the dessert is very good. The last time I went, I had the chocolate cake with more layers of chocolate. The chocolate lover's dream cake. Overall, the place has an excellent vibe, partly due to the neat, original paintings and bright wall colors that decorate the place. ”

“My husband and I went to this restaurant several years ago and have thought of nothing since. When we talk about returning to Alaska it is always with cups in mind. What a great restaurant. The food was excellent and well priced. We not only ate here once while in homer, but several times. We kept saying we needed to try some other restaurants and each time we did we would end up back at cups, disappointed in all other restaurants.”

“After spending the night on the homer spit during a blizzard it was good to find a warm place for breakfast. From the unique table settings (every table has a different salt and pepper shaker, every patron has there own unique cloth Napkin and coffee mug) to the blend of bric-a-brac to the variety of the clientele you know you're in for a unique experience. I had the best pancakes and reindeer sausage between homers and took, Alaska. And my waitress called me hon. "would you like some more coffee, hon.¿”

“Workers were very nice. Halibut Fish and Chips meal was dark brown, almost burnt.”
