• Just, the road under construction but I hope to finish soon.

“I and my friend went there after meeting for diner, it's was beautiful place. The bar hostess, area entry way all decorated, the dining room very elegant seating, windows to see out back yard, server came quick and very smiley the food and drink, they were great. If I'm in the area again soon I will love to dine in again.”

“We picked Red's Supper Club based on its reviews and we were sorely disappointed in the steaks that we ordered. The rib eyes were very thin and they were loaded with fat plus the meat itself was tough. Our daughter ordered a tenderloin and it was medium-well, not medium-rare and we did not have time to send it back. If you go there - order the fish! It looked great! Stay away from any of the steaks as we ordered four different menu items that were steaks and none of them were even mediocre.”

“Service was very slow - there was only one other couple seated. Took the waitress about 10 minutes to bring two cans of beer and I had to ask for a glass. The waitress was also wearing sweats which seemed a little out of place for a supper club the kitchen radio was also blaring out music, so much for ambiance. The French onion soup that came with saltines was Luke warm and had oil floating on top. The lettuce in the tiny salad bar was turning brown, the mushrooms must not have been wiped off before they were sliced - I saw those telltale clumps. When the roasted chicken arrived it was at least hot, it was OK. That meal cost 27 dollars which we felt was way overpriced. Overall, it was a massive disappointment and we'll never go there again.”

“I grew up in Ripon and loved Roadhouse, it was the place to be on a Friday or Saturday for good food. This is not the case today. The service was great. We placed a phone order for food to be picked up. They told me it would be ready in 15 minutes and I asked for it to be ready in 30 minutes. When I got, the food was just being packed to carry out, so great timing! Great service and I couldn't wait to get home and enjoy the Cheese Puffs and Hoagie! I was disappointed with the food. The Hoagie was so small and the Meat was dry and tough, plus the Mushrooms were not grilled. The Cheese Puffs were okay, but the Hamburgers that my father and husband ordered were smaller than the Bun and were about as dry as the Bun. Very disappointed with the food. I haven't had Roadhouse in ages because I no longer live in the area and was looking forward to the great food that was once served there. I will not go there again, which I'm very sad to say.”

“I've been to this restaurant on numerous occasions while in Fond du Lac to visit family. As a rule, it is an outstanding restaurant. However, everything was ruined by our waitress. She was incredibly slow when the restaurant was nearly empty. She portrayed nothing but a poor attitude. She was very rude and snippy. We will return to this restaurant again but hopefully something is done about this woman or that we will be fortunate enough to not have her as our waitress.”

“Growing up across the street from the original Fitzgerald's' Pub/resort, in twin lakes, I would say this is an awesome thing they did. I am so glad Fitz's is still around for the fish boil! If the food made you sick, you probably had too much butter! This restaurant is family owned and ran. The lady who is at the register is actually the original owner. It is a great place to relax and be yourself! There is also, outdoor seating, near where the fish is being cooked/boiled. I have introduced 5 of my friends to Fitzgerald's and got 10 thumbs up so far! Definitely a low key, dress in comfy, room clothes, and enjoy!”

“Someone once told me to avoid fruits and nuts. I can thoroughly agree because I ordered a bunch of fruits and nuts and look at me. I love the low prices at the Union Grove Family Restaurant. The food there is excellent and exquisite. After all I am a cheap man myself. I drive a black Ford Explorer with tinted windows and massive rims.”

“I loved Supper clubs but may be we hit an off night. The New York Strip I ordered turned out to be a T-Bone, ordered medium rare served very rare (mostly raw) and containing an awfully lot of gristle. I left 60% of the Steak on the plate. My friends Steak and Lobster combo was good although he thought the steak was rather small. The absolute highlight though was the salad with the house Roquefort dressing, simply lettuce and dressing but the best salad I believe I have ever tasted.”

“Pine cone restaurant was my favorite place. Last Sunday, Sept 20 my husband and I went out to eat. We were very disappointed. We had Salisbury steak, mine was burnt, potatoes tasted, instant gravy was too thick and bitter, meat was over cooked. I heard another customer complain about his food was cold. I don't intend to recommend Pine Cone restaurant to anybody any more, or bring anyone there. Service was good, the waitress did a good job, Chicken and Dumpling soup was excellent. Very unhappy customer.”

“I've gone to Pine Cone restaurant for years and I always been more than satisfied. Put last Sunday, the food was burnt, cold, gravy to thick and bitter. Mashed potatoes taste like instant potatoes. I was very unsatisfied. It used to be my favorite place. My husband was dissatisfied. Also his food was fried to long. I use to recommend Pine Cone to everybody. Now I'll have to find a new place. I heard another customer complained also that it was cold, very unhappy persons. The waitress was very good.”

• I will never eat here again, and will warn my friends about this restaurant.

“I have eaten there times in total, twice for Friday fish and once on a Sunday evening. Their food is not very good and their service is awful. This last time I went there they gave my son rotten milk when I asked for a regular, and their steak's were disgusting. My T-bone had the consistency of an overcooked roast and the flavor was so terrible, I sent it back and ordered a bowl of soup instead. When I tried to check out I was greeted by a man who had a very bad attitude, he claimed to be the owner of the restaurant, he looked to be about 16. When I told him the steak was awful he said quote, "Well what do you expect for your price. There was nothing wrong with the steak, I ate it after you sent it back. What did you expect me to do, throw it away?" That shows they do not have acceptable hygiene for a restaurant. Diseases are spread in that way. And last, the service beyond the owner was terrible. The waitress was slow and inefficient. If I could give this place a 0 I would.”

• Staff can feel a bit cold to non regulars.

“I've been known to go out of my way to stop at the Chaser. The food is basic bar food but consistently pretty darn good. My pop always talks about the ribs and others the steaks. This is a small town bar that has been around since I was knee high and long before. It can be a wait for a table on Friday nights but the food and cheap prices makes it well worth the wait. It has by far the cheapest drinks of any establishment I've ever been to. And they can knock you down if you are not careful. Five bucks goes a long way. Afterwards, go down a couple buildings and see if the ice cream/antiques/is open for a big scoop. The food at the Chaser is hearty and good. Just don't expect atmosphere like at a chain restaurant like TGI Fridays. You be rewarded.”

“Burger King is a great establishment however I've also had problems with this particular BK. I live down the road so my family often travels there for a quick supper. There have been numerous occasions when we have been missing food so now we don't leave the drive-thru window until we check that everything is there. There is definitely a lot of horse play especially with the night crew. My family never goes in because it's just not a nice dining atmosphere. If kids wanna joke around, great, but it's still important to hold some level of maturity. I would not recommend this Burger King unless you don't mind obnoxious foul-mouthed teenagers.”

“Fantastic food, great value. Like many supper clubs there is a required wait before dinner (where they make money on drinks) and the bar does not serve food but I start every Northwoods trip at Bootlegger's and have never had a bad meal. Not the most cutting edge cuisine but executed perfectly every time - the fried cheese curds are hands-down the best in the state. Also try the soup which is homemade and great - as far as I am concerned bread tells you how much a restaurant cares (the rolls at Bootlegger's are very good) and the soup tells you how talented the chef is. No loss on either point here.”

“I visited this bar/grill a few weeks ago. The service was terrible as I had to wait 20 minutes for a drink. That would be somewhat understandable if the place was super busy, but there were only 5 other people in there besides myself! The drinks also are way overpriced. $3.00 for a bottle of beer at a small hole in the wall tavern? Let's be realistic people, a small local bar should be charging no more than $1.50 per drink. Based on the prices, a person would think they were at a large, well known bar in a big city! Stay away for sure!”

“Oh, my god. Don't turn on the lights because you will see how old and dirty this place really is. Bee hives hanging from the ceiling? It's smoke infested and smelly. The help is mostly family and they purposely go out of their way to please you just to keep the business rolling in. After most of the dinner crowd has gone home, older people, the help including the family of the business sit in the bar and they all smoke and drink. You see their real sides. That's not respectable. The help shouldn't count tips at the bar and party in front of the customers. That place needs a big overhaul. It hasn't changed a bit in style since I can remember back 20 years. Don't even ask me about the help in the kitchen and what they do with your food. They're all dirty. The scenery isn't all that great when you have people screaming over the gambling machines right in front of the window that everyone wants to look out of for the scenery. The place is a dive.”

“I have been to this and another location on Hwy 100 many times over the last 25 years. My most recent trip was a disaster. So much grease on the burger that it splattered my car and linen pants as I took the burger out of the bag - before I had even removed the wrapper! Not a few drops; a stream of grease that soaked my pants. The fries were soggy with? Not crisp at all. I took it back and talked to manager. He actually asked if I wanted a replacement. Disgusting. Paid, for pleasure of squeezing the rest of the grease out of the burger onto the counter. No offer to pay for ruined pants or soiled car - Nada. Oscar's and I have parted company for good!”

“What a wonderful place! We were told by friends about this restaurant where the food is remarkable and the service is always top notch. We went at seven oclock and had to wait in line and even though it was cramped and crowded, this seemed like the place to be. The hostess greeted and took care of us and her friendly staff of sweet college girls took it from there. Our order was taken while we waited and we chatted it up with some local folk who made us feel at home. Group after group came through this place! Everyone was treated so well. The help stands above other places to be sure. The menu had plenty of variety. My mouth is watering just thinking about their pizza with cheese alamode. We had the Deluxe and it had fresh ingredients and authentic Italian taste. This place is also famous for their long island iced teas. YUM! It was six dollars for 32 ounces and the best I have ever had. We will be back!”

“3rd visit on Aug 4th - Dinner (Bday occasion) 4 total reservations have been made 2 days in advance for 7:30 pm. Arrived at 7:34 pm. Host was polite, but a sidekick was upset because were late (4 minutes) and table was given away (?). Short wait later 7 minutes (BTW, no line waiting to be seated at that time) were able to sit down. Received the menus and water right away. 20 minutes later a waitress came by asking to help. She seems that was not aware that were even there. Food was great. Waitress tried to be helpful, and was very polite except another waitress came by ASN said that she was going to be the waitress, however that changed again within 5 minutes and had the original waitress back. Time to receive food was very acceptable, food tasted great. We had a $25.00 gift certificate and based upon the certificate rules we were supposed to be charged 18% gratuity. But instead we were charged 20%. Tried to leave feedback on their web site but there is no option as such Kostas S.”

• Fantastic old school supper club!

“I've been eating at Benedetti's my whole life and have never been disappointed. Their Friday Fish Fry is classic Wisconsin Supper Club style. The food was fantastic, the drinks were delicious - its always a good time at Benedetti's. The only downside is that smoking is still allowed there - in the bar at least, which may be a turn off for some people. Otherwise, good times, good food and the tallest grasshoppers ever made.”

“It felt like we walked into the twilight zone! All of these old people chain smoking and drinking old fashioned and Manhattans. The owner/host handpicks the groups of diners who are then led to their table (in no particular order). The food was gloppy (soup) watered down (salad) soggy and smelly (fish fry).”

• Worst service and the owner was very rude after being very nice to him. I would recommend never going there! Have heard that from many other people also that live on the lake!

“Worst restaurant I have ever been too! Service was horrible! Dirty dishes all over the table when they sat us at the table. Had to ask them to clean it. Took 30 minutes to get a drink. Waitress had to ask if they have tap beer on a Friday night - which took at least 15 minutes to figure out. Ordered as soon as the waitress came, because we had 2 small children with us - we wanted to get our food ASAP. The only nice thing is its on the lake and our kids were so good considering the very long wait. They forgot to put in our order and waited over 2 hours. The owner came over and said thats what you get for coming on a Friday night. Everyone who came in after us, had already eaten, had there bill, and left. We have never have had worse service at any other restaurant. Definitely not a family restaurant. Threw us a small Pizza for 5 people and had us take it to go and charged us for the whole bill! My advice would be to go to Napolies in Town- they have much better Pizza and better service!”

“We have eaten at Martys before and food was pretty good. We will not go back again though. Sometimes we do not like to have a drink but you can not go in restaurant without sitting at the bar. The last time we went, the restaurant was about 1/4 used with lots of open tables but you had to standing at a smoking bar to wait for the waitress to take your order. We ended up walking out because they said it was a 1/2 hour wait. There was no sitting room available. Just before we walked out, we heard one couple say they like to have you wait there so you to make you drink. Not a family place to go at all! We walked out and went to Shenanigans in Sherwood. We went right in super friendly and excellent food with reasonable prices.”

“It was awful - we had reservations and while we were on time, we waited over 90 minutes while walk-ins were seated before we were and were told they did not know when they would get to us. We had elderly and diabetic individuals in our group. It is like they wanted to gouge the patrons for drinks before we could be fed. We were handed excuse after excuse. Large groups with same number of people we had were seated and we were not when we had made reservations. Those without reservations should have been told to wait, not us. We ended up going to the Cotton Patch which was excellent and had way better service, food, and ethics than this could hope to have.”

“We have a cabin on Bone Lake and hit Wilkins almost every weekend. A favorite local spot: decent bar food, pool tables, and live music on the weekends. Really just an old-fashioned small town beer joint - kids are welcome, but I would recommend getting them out of there by 10 p.m. or so.”

“I think that the Pickle tree adds some thing to Deerfeild that the other restaurants can't offer and that is a great fish fry on Friday and the chef makes a lot of things from scratch and its so good and the pizza is the best in town (well its the only pizza in town but its a good pizza) and the staff is very friendly and a happy bunch to be around you know the show back in the day called cheers were every one knows your name well thats the pickle tree for you its a lot of fun to be part of the pickle tree experience.”
