“I've been here 3 times. The first was during lunch, and the food was just ok, keeping in mind its a buffet. The other times it was terrible. My husband and I went during dinner time. It was full of loud obnoxious people, the food even smelled bad, and the Mongolian barbecue, they had setup was full of meat that wasn't even frozen! Seriously the meat was floppy and warm. We mostly ate noodles and things that were fried and still got sick!”

• Our sweet waitperson kept saying 'awesome'! The young can be so tiresome.

“An eye-round buffalo steak was perfect - medium rare, tender, and delicious, served with a tall cylinder of baked sweet potato topped with a frizzle of fried sweet potato. A Caesar salad - a heaping platter of Romaine lettuce, conveniently served with its dressing on the side - was a blessed relief from all that coast-to-coast iceberg. Portions were generous, service was attentive, and the restaurant had an impressive wine list. Even on a Monday night, locals drifted in two's and four's to fill most of the tables.”

“We were there a while ago (9 years) and still crave their prime rib. No one else does prime rib this good (and trust me, we've looked!). It was fabulous! If we lived closer, we'd be there all the time. We tell everyone who is going that way to go there and they love it too!”

“I would have rated a zero had it been an option. Upon entering the restaurant the atmosphere was very tense. The hostess was cold and rude, they were not busy, yet seemed to take a while to get service. The coffee although Starbucks, had floating grounds and other unknown foreign objects. The waitress had a scowl and was short with us. Even though we were eating breakfast at 9:20 am on a Saturday, it took quite awhile to get our food. When the food finally arrived, my toast was burnt, hash brown potatoes were dry and cold, the eggs were to be scrambled yet were greasy and folded several times like an omelet, and extremely hard. I had to ask for silverware 3 times and she brought each one not on the table individually. The menu was way over priced and my meal cost more the my dinner a couple nights before in Rapid City. I would not recommend eating at this place as the floor was filthy and the tables were dirty. The bathroom floor was a wet mess and it appeared that all of the employees hated their jobs, not a smile or hello to be found.”

• Great, unique pasta creations.
• Its ok for wait staff to write things down. It might help with mistakes.

“The restaurant itself was nice. It was a romantic setting but almost too dark especially in the bar area. It was busy but we were seated right away. It took a little while to get our waiter and drinks seemed to take forever. One thing I noticed is that none of the wait staff used pens or paper to take orders; they all just "memorized" what you wanted. I thought it was neat until our dinner arrived and one of the plates was wrong. It was immediately replaced but with some gruff from the waiter. The food was phenomenal. It was full of flavor and the portions are huge. I expected some kind of discount on the wrong food but when we got the bill there was nothing there.”

“Food was overdone and tasteless. Noodles and pasta too limp and soggy like it was sitting for awhile. Not like the Olive Garden when it first came out years ago. Even the breadsticks were tasteless. The service was below par for this type of restaurant. We had to find our waitress and beg for more drinks. She seemed like she wanted us to hurry and get out too. We had about 8 people with us and of course that takes some time for everything. I felt we overpaid for crap!”

• Slow neg. waitress, noise, no atmosphere-seemed a dull color and like eating in a factory caf. Need some color and tone the metal down.

“Expensive for more than a family of four. Food is good as a one time try, but very, very salty and too strong on the flavorings like the peppercorn/bleu cheese hamburger. The taste was overwhelming and hard to eat after the first half. My tongue was numb. I am a food critic and use to all kinds of flavors/seasonings and taste. The fries were too hard to eat and a salt lick. It was noisy for having only about 12 tables full. During the buffet, about 10 employees came out around 2:30PM to tear it down making it noisier and seem like we were intruding at the close of the restaurant. Good menu, keep your hands off the salt shaker and it may be a nice place to go especially if you like the bar types.”

“We placed a fairly large order to go, it was to be delivered (delivery times start from 11-2) but we couldn't get it in the time we needed. We went to get the order only to get back to the office and the soup was correct, but the sizzling rice soup had little to no rice, 1 shrimp. They gave us 2 out of 7 entrees that were correct, the rest we aren't sure what it was. There was supposed to be a beef dish and that was not there. The Happy Family dish had no scallops or crab as described and 3 shrimp, 2 of which still had the tail on (shouldn't have). The entire meal was about $90. When we called to talk to them about the problems, we were basically called liars or in their words "a difficult customer" and was told "you never have to order from us again." Guaranteed we will never, ever, order from there again.”

• I had a bad prime rib dinner. After a price 'adjustment' I ended up paying $15.20 for soup, coffee and baked potato.

“There service was ok. The food took forever to get and when we did it was cold and undercooked. After telling the waitress about the problems the food was taken back to the kitchen and warmed to a more acceptable manner. Apparently the owner had an issue with a customer who was doing nothing more than sitting and having a drink. The owner proceeded to swear at this man and then kicked him out of the restaurant. So we had food and entertainment!”

“Armadillo ice cream Shoppe is very fulfilling, for your pocket and your tummy. Whatever you like, they've got it there. They are so inexpensive; I can get double the ice-cream for the price of a kid's dairy queen blizzard! They never give you "not enough" candy in it, and perfect it with smiles and maraschino cherries. I'm basically a number one fan. Also, it opens tomorrow.”

“This place was awesome. The food and prices were fantastic. We really enjoyed the "Big R" special. An 8oz steak and potatoes for It was fantastic. The service was excellent. Our drink glasses were never empty, our dinners were correctly cooked and we never had to wait for friendly service. It was a great place to have dinner then enjoy some live music and dancing. ”

“Although the food was hot and quite good the service was awful. We waited almost 45 minutes for our dinners to arrive and once they did both dinners were not what we ordered. It took us another 10 minutes to find the waitress, once found she insisted that it was our fault the dinners weren't right. 15 minutes later we had the correct dinners in front of us but never saw the waitress again until she walked by and dumped the bill on the table. Our wine and water glasses were empty the entire meal. Great food, Horrid service. ”

“An ample to overflowing collection of Americana and memorabilia adorn the walls of this establishment to pique your gazing curiosity. Down home atmosphere. Good service during rushes yet never too busy to offer that 'personal' touch. Good food. Good portions. Good prices. We enjoyed four consecutive mornings in their ambiance. ”

• A big salad bar - the spinach was fresh.
• Everything else - really. Employees in evidence, offering no service whatever.

“In our quest for hot cuisine, we wound up at the Bonanza steak house place here in metropolitan Mitchell, SoDak after having a look around the Corn Palace. I got to start hanging out with a better class of people. I ordered the rib eye, cooked medium. Rob ordered the senior's sirloin strip, medium well, thanks. His was cooked just the way I like it. The further I got into mine, the raw-err it got. And one side was cooked more than the other. The watermarks on the ceiling tiles made for interesting patterns on the ceiling. A few of the tiles looked like they might collapse momentarily. Meal detritus remained on the floor in spite of the vacuum cleaner being in plain sight. The staff finally figured out that daughter and family were with us and said they'd get right on their order. Ten minutes later, Gomer brought daughter's plate of deep-fried shrimps and fries (all you can eat) and said he'd be checking back with us to see when she'd like more. We never saw him again. Young woman (a teen) came around with her cart and her two gallon jug of catsup and filled the table bottles, after giving the open bottles a swipe with a grotey (sp?) looking wet cloth. Interestingly the salad bar wasn't SO bad. Didn't know we were getting all that when we ordered the entree -- each of us would have been quite content with the salad bar only (it was large and had more than cold salads on it, but that's a different story) and probably saved about $3 each besides.”

• The quality of the food is high and consistent.
• Sometimes food is cut into pieces that are too large to manage with chopsticks.

“Hot foods are hot. Cold foods are cold. Vegetables are fresh. Tea is just the right strength. Sauces do not overpower the food. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and remembers what you liked (or didn't like) the next time. ”

“B & G is a wonderful place to get ice cream. Their strawberry soft serve ice cream is out of this world, so creamy and flavorful. I also love the strawberry malts. They use real strawberries in them. Add a little whipped cream for an extra touch.”

• Open at 7am? Should be 6.

“Cannot believe the ribs! We were staying in the Custer State Park and decided to get in to Custer for a break from the camp stove. We walked in to the place wanting a Starbucks coffee on our way to eat in Hill City. We smelled the aroma and decided to stay for dinner.
