• The menu was excellent with good choices.
• We need one in my home town.

“What a fantastic trip in Nostalgia. The people were extremely polite and accommodating. The food was excellent. I just had to take photos of the entire building, it really is a beautiful sight to see. I can picture the parking lot full of 50's cars and would feel like I went back in time. I really highly recommend this to travelers. It is worth the stop. My congratulations to the owner and staff! Well done!”

• Outdoor decor is nice.
• Nobody seemed to enjoy working there.

“The food here is quite drab. My Philly sandwich came with barely an ounce of meat on it, some cheese and a very dried out bun and the missing vegetables are my favorite part of the sandwich. The service was passable, but seemed to prefer helping the regular tippers first. The bar-tenders were slightly friendly at first, but seemed to be in a bad mood for the most part as well. This made my experience seem very lack-luster.”

“Happy Panda gives an authentic Chinese feel and a delicious array of unique and tasteful foods that are cheap and yet still taste like fine dining. Favorite dish from there is the General Tsou's chicken. Yum!”

“I ate here and was extremely disappointed. The food they serve is worth a quarter of the price they charge and you are surrounded by adults that act with the maturity of children. They are loud and are extremely rude. Overall I would never eat here again or suggest it to a friend. You would rather starve than eat here.”

• Good food--distinctive and flavorful.
• The front bar area has uncomfortable chairs and too much waiting.

“I like the dining room rather than the bar area that is used for deli-style lunches on weekdays. The lunches in the bar are crowded and you stand in line forever. The dining room, on the other hand, has much better food and better service. The menu has nice variety, distinctive house specials, and elegant (but worn) decor. It's a nice place for lunch or dinner, as long as you stay in the dining room.”

• As with any buffet you can eat till you're full.
• Unfortunately it will be hard to eat when you try not to vomit.

“Don't eat here. It is really gross. The food is average at best. When I say average, that would be if it were freshly made and you didn't have to eat from the buffet. The stuff seems like it sits out all day. People touch all the food and no one ever says anything. I spent most of the meal trying not to purge. The service was bad and the server looked like he just got back from a bike rally. I seriously question what the kitchen looked like. Usually no one is there and after eating there I see why. It seems run down.”

“Best pizza I have ever tasted. Their dough and sauce are made from scratch. The sauce was extremely good. The nachos were also great. They cook their nacho chips to order. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back.”

“Gladys is the local mom and pop place. The food is all "cooked" not "prepared" if you get my meaning. It's not a chain. There is an actual chef. Nice homely environment. Not a place for a party, just you and a few friends for coffee, brunch, dinner.”

• It's open 24 hours a day.
• Read the menu carefully.

“Beware, the "Tasty Sauce" listed for most sandwiches are Tartar Sauce. While tartar sauce may taste good on some fish types, it does not taste good with bacon or hamburgers or fish.”

• Kids ate free.
• Kid digging dirty mitts into spaghetti.

“This was not the worst I have had, but it is kind of stomach turning, when you are perusing the desserts, and there are fruit flies buzzing around! Yuck! As well, there was a kid digging his dirty fingers into the spaghetti to serve himself, staff walks by and don't say anything, nor do the parents, so much for more spaghetti. The buffet would have been alright had they refilled the items that ran out. Just seemed somewhat grungy to me. Wouldn't go back.”

• Sandwiches seemed a little high priced, but they came with plenty of extras so not terrible.

“The best Knoephla soup anywhere (served on Thursdays)! Good sandwiches and fantastic onion rings! It has a small town cafe atmosphere. Stop in and give it a try.”

“Old main is a fantastic place to enjoy and take a walk down memory lane. The decor displays historic pictures of surrounding communities and the food is excellent. When ordering, I would order modestly because the portions are rather large; but I think that's great because it's so reasonably priced.”

“Very dirty and terribly smoky bar. Owner is a true womanizer and freely admits it. Definitely a roach motel! Only recommend if you are looking for the lowest class dirty, Native American crowd. Don't come here unarmed; you will use your weapon for self protection.”

• Great little restaurant in a quaint little town!

“I¿ve been to the cowboy cafe many times. I really enjoy the local cowboy pictures on the wall. It is one of the few ¿real deal" cowboy places I¿ve been to and the food and service is very good. Much better than one would expect in such a small town. I always pick up a business size card for "a free cup of coffee on your next visit". .”

• Yikes. Who is the interior decorator?

“The Juana¿s Restaurant in downtown Fargo has the best Mexican food in the Fargo-Moorhead area, hands down. The food is fresh tasting and there is something to suit every taste. The servers are friendly and willing to chat. My server recommended the vegetarian burrito and I was not disappointed!!! Excellent, even for a non-vegetarian such as myself. The decor is bit tacky, but with the lights down low, no one notices. A great place to dine, great value. ”

• Fireplaces a little too cozy.

“The decor is great - just like a log cabin. The only problem were the fireplaces...it was very hot in there! However, the food was AMAZING (if you like steak!) The service was also great. I highly recommend the prime rib!”

“Went there for lunch at 12:30.but learned that they were still serving breakfast, and lunch was not an option! Our waitress was rude, unfriendly and didn't seem to know the menu at all. If you stay at the Radisson, it's worth it to drive somewhere else to eat.”

“I think that the Ranch restaurant is a great place to enjoy yourself and eat an excellent prepared meal. They have a wonderful staff and the restaurant is quite welcoming. It doesn't matter if you are just coming off the farm or dressed up for a family or friend affair, it is a great place to enjoy and share the experience with family and friends. ”

• That it is over 1500 miles from my home!

“I was greeted by a wooden Indian, entered into a bar from the past, found friendly people welcoming me and a quality experience. The front room is a bar from yesteryear! It looked like an old bar; smelled like an old bar; and was filled with that old bar atmosphere you just can't create artificially. The staff was warm and friendly making me feel immediately welcome and even the clientele within were hospitable to me, an outsider. I went through to a back dinning room that was complete with linen table clothes and was one of those places you could just feel good in. The cook saw me enter and came out to welcome me and reminded me of the special, which the regulars had already done. I did not check it out, but there was also a patio, reminiscent of the old bar/restaurants as I grew up in Kentucky. The food was fantastic and they served portions for the working cowboy of the area. This was an outstanding experience I am glad I decided to do! Thank you Pastime!”

• They ruined the great atmosphere and the staff is not helpful.

“This used to be a wonderful family restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere, old fashioned wood tables and wood dividers as well as great decorations. The food was great, too. About two years ago they changed everything and it hasn't gotten better yet. Sure, the food is still decent, but the setup is more like a college cafeteria. The dividers are gone, so the tables are sitting in huge and comparably bare room. The staff is not great any more and you actually have to go up to the counter, odor AND PAY your food before you sit down somewhere. It is really sad to see this place go down the drain - I used to love it and oftentimes took a detour of almost a hundred miles, just to eat there. Now I'd take the same detour to avoid it.”

“The restaurant has changed names - it is now the Chill-n-Grill. I thoroughly enjoyed my eating experience - it is a drive-in restaurant that hints at just a bit of nostalgia from my childhood. The food is good, well priced, and the service is very friendly.”

“The tenderloin was perfect and the service was superb. Who would have thought Escargot would be on the menu and served so well.......The review even gets better at this point, I left my wallet at the table after dinner and upon my return the next day Wanda retrieved it from the safe. What great people!!! What a great place!!!!
