“I always take out of town guests to D J's, but never again! My friend hated the Pot Pie she ordered, so she asked to speak to the manager. The woman said that she was also the owner and insisted on knowing what was wrong with the order. My friend told her repeatedly that she just didn't like it and wanted to order something different. The manager could only say, why you don't like it? We sell hundreds before. Everybody likes it. You only took two bites. Try more. My friend insisted that two bites was enough, but her message didn't get through. We all tried to speak up for our timid friend, but the manager just snapped at us and said I am talking to her only, I didn't ask you''. The manager finally asked the waiter to just bring my friend a piece of chocolate cake and then charged us for the Pot Pie and the cake!Never again!”

“We have been coming to Maggie for over 20 Years, It has always been a tradition with us to go to Snappy's for dinner on our first night. It is our favorite restaurant in Maggie. The service last night was excellent, the food super. My husband and I will dine there once a week till the end of our stay.”

“Well, the chef was inspired tonight! I had a fabulous dish (the special) - Grilled Halibut served a top She-Crab Soup, that was to-die-for. The service is a bit on the slower side, but it was a well-paced meal as we had appetizers and dessert. Thursday nights they have a 1/2 price bottle of wine special with the purchase of an entree.”

“Service was slow and food was cold and server stated he would separate checks at register and when we went to pay at register the same server who was now the cashier said he could not separate the checks. He either lied, misspoke or didn't feel like doing it. All unacceptable in the service industry.”

“My niece and I ate breakfast here and the food was excellent. She lives in Wilson NC and hadn't eaten there until my visit last week. I'll definitely be returning whenever I visit her. She plans on taking her in-laws this week while they are visiting. The food is nothing fancy, home type cooked comfort foods. They have biscuits that are to die for, melt in your mouth. My niece said her omelet was really good but expected shredded Hash Browns, not formed into a patty. My sausage, eggs, grits, were cooked perfectly. I can't wait to return for lunch.”

“I was recently on a trip in Topsail Beach, NC and I happened to stop at this Domino's Pizza located in Sneads Ferry, NC. I got great customer service from a sweet young man. The first person that was assisting me was not helpful and that young man walked up and took over and that was the best experience I have ever had where someone cared so much what I thought. The food was not well done the first time and the crust was very thin so I wouldn't accept it and I asked if that young man could make my pizza and he did and it still wasn't done enough but it looked like a perfect pizza. Everyone in there was really loud and it looked like people were smoking out the back door but the young man that assisted me was extremely helpful. I was due to return back home in August and I stopped again on the way out of town and I asked if he could help me and I was told he doesn't work there anymore. A nice young lady had overheard me asking for him and she helped me with my pizza out to my car and she said that he was fired. Another young man had said it was ashamed because he was one of the best drivers. So overall on this store was brought to a 4 and the only reason it received a 10 in service is because of that sweet young man that assisted me that day. Stores should learn to look over bad qualities should a person have them and realize you can't find service a loyal people like that young man gave.”

“Changing the name to Jordan's - House of Sushi might be a good idea considering the uncooked state of the fried shrimp we got. The servers were friendly and fairly quick to start, even though we never saw them again, nor had a glass refilled or asked if everything was OK. The seating, crowded. When my son ordered steak and shrimp and the server said "I never saw anyone order that before" it should have been a hint to just say no to dinner in that place. He said the steak was bad and the shrimp undercooked. He did like the baked potato. I had undercooked shrimp and flounder. The fish wasn't undercooked but neither was it very good. I will give them credit for decent hush puppies. Honestly that's as good a review as I can give these folks. If you're looking for good food, go some place else. By the way, a couple of nights later we went to Rucker John's located behind the mall in the 8700 block. Wonderful service (my ice tea glass was replaced with fresh before I was finished with the first), servers helpful but not intrusive, and the food. Great. I highly recommend Rucker John's over Jordan's House of Sushi.”

“My husband, me and another couple, travel to the Banner Elk area, from once to twice, every year. We ate breakfast at Pappy's every morning. We all love the breakfast, as well as the Huge hot biscuits. We were saddened, the months and years, we went there, and Pappy's was closed for renovation. It took away from our whole trip. We are traveling there, in October 2009, for the Woolly-Worm Festival, and we are so thrilled that Pappy's has reopened! See you in October!”

“When you first walk in, Wipmie's looks very appealing, old, rustic and obviously not a chain restaurant. I tend to seek these places out when I travel. The waitress was very friendly. Although the restaurant was pretty empty, we had to wait quite a long time for our food to arrive. I don't mind a wait if the food justifies it but this time it just didn't. I had the crab cakes for 8.95 very heavy on filling and not much crab taste to it. My partner had the Wimpie's Pasta with shrimp for $14.00. The pasta isn't fresh or homemade, just the kind you buy at the store. (meuller type) and ordinary and light on the shrimp. I really hoped for better. It isn't bad, just nothing special.”

“It has a nice appearance from the lobby. It was full when we arrived and a few folks in front of us but there was certainly no wait to get in. Once you are handed your menus then seated, there is no wait to order or eat. Our miniature steaks were ready as we returned from the salad bar. I had a nondescript Cabernet that probably was a Merlot, but it was red.”

“The owner is far less than friendly or courteous and although the interior could be termed rustic and nostalgic, the negativity of the manager soured the experience. The building design is clever and the interior could be very charming with less clutter and using a broom on a daily basis. I would again visit the Cornucopia for a delicious lunch and nice experience!”

“This establishment is not kid friendly. The chef made rude comments to my three year old throughout the meal. When we confronted the people up front they said they would speak to him, but it was just his personality to be sarcastic. Even my son said he was not nice to him which broke our hearts. If you want the same experience with friendly staff try the Ichiban in Biltmore. The chef there was fabulous and even taught our son some of the language. Don't pay these people to be insulted.”

“Ralph's is the best place to eat along the I-95 corridor North or South within 2 miles of the interstate. They are known for the various forms of BBQ on their buffet but what I found to be out of this world is their homemade chicken salad! Health nuts beware this is good down home southern cooking! Good eats!”

“It is a shame that another restaurant bites the dust when it comes to customer service. With the struggling economy one would think that customer service would be the #1 priority for owners of any service oriented business. Let me assure you that Briggs has no interest in serving the customer. Perhaps its a combination of being in business for a while and having those loyal customers that the owner has gotten complacent, whatever the reason she is making a mistake. There is no need to go into the whole story but the simple facts are there were four adults sitting down trying to have an enjoyable breakfast and instead were all scared and wondering what in the world they did to receive such a mean and horrible attitude the entire time. The other major point is the server yelled at one of the customers as well as ran outside after her. Having a terrible experience there I decided to speak with the owner in hopes of clearing things up and giving feedback which one would think is important to an owner of a business. The owner had no interest in hearing what happened, instead went on to assure me that the server was a wonderful person and would never be fired. It was never the intent to have anyone fired, the intent was to inform the owner so the owner can help the server become better and improve. The owner was not in the restaurant at the time so her only knowledge of this incident was speaking on the phone to the server first and then to me. I had every intention of clearly stating the facts but it was evident that the moment the owner called me her mind was made up. Certainly there are positive things about supporting your staff and standing behind them, it is quite another to ignore paying customers all together. Luckily there are numerous restaurants in this area that have great service and serve a tasty meal. I will never step foot into Briggs again and even though the amount of money my family normally would have spent there is not huge, I would rather spend it elsewhere purely out of principal. Shame on the owner for not being better, she should always be striving to improve her staff so in turn the customers stay loyal. I thought that was business 101.”

“The food was not good at all. The cooking area was nasty. Their restaurant is located on Dekalb street not east or west Dixon blvd. We, the 7 people who were there, would not recommend any family to eat here.”

“The Food takes too long to come out and ran out of Fries! After waiting almost an hour for our dinner and no Fries. My kids were not happy neither was I. The owner brought out 3 desserts for the 5 plates that did not have Fries. Needless to say that caused unhappiness, especially since only one brownie sundae came and some other pie that are not kid friendly showed up in front of the other kids that did not get their Fries. The worst thing is the waitress double charged us for her tip! Her tip was included in the bill because we had a big party. So on top of the 20% she got she gave herself another 20%. Not very happy customers here!”

“Although the restaurant is priced reasonably, some of the food flavors really arent that great. You wont leave hungry though if you buy enough. Each food, vegetable, salad, dessert are all priced separately. So like if you get Turkey, with dressing and gravy. 2 vegetables a piece of pie, and a glass of tea you pay about eleven dollars. The downer side to this is you supposed to have a member of the waiter staff to come around and see if you need a drink refill or anything, and in the two times Ive been to this restaurant Ive had to flag someone down, Im not sure if they are understaffed or if their staff just cant handle the job.”

“Stay away! We are visiting the Topsail Beach area, and went to this restaurant to have a meal last night. We ordered the chopped BBQ, and asked the waitress if it was similar to pulled pork. She said it was. My parents, husband and I all ordered this BBQ. It was horrible! It tasted like it was spoiled or they used old pork. We asked the manager why it tasted like that, and she said that is the way they make it. It is vinegar based. Needless to say, none of us ate much, and they didn't do anything to try to help. The waitress tried, but the manager didn't do a thing. So, basically, we paid for meals that didn't get eaten.”

“We called Friday morning for a reservation for a group of 5. We were told we'd be put on the call ahead of list. We arrived at the appointed time & checked in. We were left standing in the lobby for 45 minutes while other later arriving parties were seated. The call ahead of list seemed to be the forgotten list. Rather than offer a simple apology the manager/owner scoffed at our claim of waiting 45 minutes. His attitude was definitely not customer friendly so we took our money to Miller's and had a lovely dinner. We visit OBX every summer but will not patronize Kelly's.”

“Beware! My husband and I went to this Burger King on Friday night and saw disgusting things! The guy making the sandwiches had on filthy low riding pants, and kept pulling them up while handling the food. He dropped the ketchup bottle and it rolled on the floor, and he just picked it up and kept on using it. The tables, soda fountain, and floor were dirty. In addition, no one seemed to care about his or her job. No one smiled or greeted.”

“I went to Maxs Pizza with a group of 9 while on vacation. Ive never experienced such unprofessional and rude behavior from a Manager. The waitress took our orders and returned about 30 minutes later to bring everyones dinner except for one person. She said they had made a mistake and failed to enter the order, but the cook was preparing it right away. After 10 minutes and no meal I asked the waitress to at least bring a salad. Another 20 minutes went by before the meal came. When the manager came over, we complained about the mistake and asked that we not to be charged. She became defensive and said that the restaurants policy was, You eat it you buy it. She then went on to say that she would be glad to take the food back and not charge us. At this time she reached in to take the plate. I told her it was fine I would pay, but I wouldnt be back. She said that was fine with her, smirked and walked away. I definitely wouldnt recommend this restaurant.”

“A short drive from Greensboro near Hyco Lake. Our family visits this restaurant every time we are near person county. The people that own the business have been there for over 30 years. They cook on live charcoal and have the best salad bar around. Great for a family treat. Inexpensive on comparison to other quality restaurants.”

“My husband and I ate at this restaurant, The golden Corralin Washington, N.C. for the past eight years until now. On June 6th 09, we saw a cockroach crawl over the fried chicken from the buffet on onto the wall. We will never step foot in to this place again. No thanks. If you don't mind a filthy disease carrying bug that could have possibly crawled on your food, then you would welcome this place. But for us never agian. No thank you.”

“The food was great and that was 2 years ago. Just recently went back to Smithfield for a visit. We were excited about eating at Holt Lake again. We were very disappointed. The total meal was terrible. We will not go back there again.”

“Atmosphere - 10 if you like it. 1 if you don't. If you're looking for a piled high platter of fried seafood in FRESH oil, this is the place. I've been looking for something like the 'famous' Calabash seafood closer to Wilmington and finally found Hollands. Food is actually better and more of it. At the suggestion of our friendly waitress my wife and I shared a platter of catfish, shrimp, and scallops. Piles of perfectly golden items on heaps of fries and slaw. Delicious. Price was 1/2 what the city would charge and plenty for the 2 of us. Might be a little out of the way, but well worth the 30 minute drive from Wilmington. 4 stars from us!”

“I am a busy stay at home mom who doesn't get much of a break from cooking and its such a nice relief and change of pace to come and eat at the Drive Inn the food is absolutely the best in this town. The service was very good and the lady that waited on us was one of the nicest individuals I know.”
