“It is a Chilis. It is like most other Chilis. The menu is the same, consistently mediocre. The servers are hot.”

“I tried to order take out wings - all I got was a bunch of giggling on the phone. The order taker was apparently having fun and horsing around with a co-worker.”

“Maybe I'm just spoiled because we have such great Mexican food here in Texas, but the food was very disappointing. I had the vegetarian tamales & my husband had the blue corn enchilada. Neither one tasted like there was any seasoning at all. The rice (watery, flavorless) & beans (crusty & dry) were so bad we both left them on our plate. We didn't try the margaritas, but hope they are better than the food!”

“This little drive through stand has some of the best fast New Mexican fare around. I go to Santa Fe a few times a year and this is always a place to stop for lunch. You can drive through or walk up and sit at one of their tables under the carport cover. The food is a good value the burritos are large and very tasty. The hot red is quite spicy and very good. The green is green and spicy. Good staff every time.”

“I must say that this one was well deserved. The food was fair. But it was not good enough to justify the price. The lady who showed my date and I to our table was extremely rude. When we arrived, when asking for a restroom, and when leaving she was not nice. I requested a rose to be left at the table, and after calling and asking if I should drop one off I was informed that they would take care of it for me. This was a relief. I reminded them that I just wanted a single rose, with nothing frilly. We arrived to a fancy rose in a vase, with the baby's breath and what not. The bread which was brought out had obviously been sitting around for a while since it was cold and hard. Only once was my glass refilled, and then after about 15 minutes of waiting. It goes without saying that I will not be coming here again. Especially considering that Pranzos is cheaper, has much better atmosphere and service, and is better tasting.”

“I grew up on family get together at Earl's. It was the best place to go for breakfast and dinner. I recently revisited Earl's with my family of four expecting to have the best biscuits and gravy. We waited 38 minutes for our food to arrive and 16 minutes for our drinks. When we cut into the small looking biscuits it was hard and as soon as the gravy hit our lips it was just as cold as our drinks. When we left to pay we made a small comment about how we ate and the cashier motioned the manager over. He argued with our comment and told us he served our food myself and it was not cold. He then told us that we did not have to return again. He said, I don't need your money I have more important customers to attend to. Good-bye Earl's and old family memories.”

“The food was good. The cafe needs to be more structured While I was there I was told they ran out of straws, chili rellenos, and to top it all off the sodas were flat! The owners or what seemed managers watched television while the cafe was occupied with customers. Also the employees need proper uniforms. I am not talking tuxedos but a clean black shirt with the cafe logo and jeans would be great to see. The place needs some attention from the managers.”

“Salad bar is well maintained with good vegetables. New York Steak was undercooked, I kindly asked for it to be cooked a bit more. Came back on a clean plate, but it tasted funny, had a large amount of fat and sinew and was difficult to cut. I have been sick to my stomach for several days. The staff didn't seem to even care. I will not eat here again. This was at the New Mexico Hobbs location.”

“Best Mexican restaurant in the area, hands down. I no longer live in Farmington but eat here every chance I get. The sopapillas are fabulous. They are made with wheat flour I believe and are so good you can eat them without the honey! I'd recommend anything with shredded chicken and green chili tacos, enchiladas, stuffed sopapilla, etc. My brother and I always joke that even the rice is spicy. We've been know to eat here twice in a day if we are only I town a short time. The atmosphere is pretty no nonsense, so you know the crowds are an indication that the food alone is worth the trip!”

“The food at the Outpost is unbeatable. I have to go there every time I stop through Carrizozo, even though it isn't the quickest place to eat. If you want to know what a true New Mexico Green Chile Cheese burger is like, there is no better place to go than the Outpost. The atmosphere is great as well, new restaurants will never be able to replicate an authentic, old-time restaurant like The Outpost.”

“Our meal there can be summed up in one word: disappointing. The dessert was worse I'm afraid. The Homemade Apple Strudel (made with raisins for some reason) seemed to have come straight from the freezer where it had sat for some time I imagine, before being reheated and served. Instead of a light dry crispness to the pastry layers, they were limp, moist and drooping. The Blackberry Crisp with vanilla ice cream was worse: the sour berries, topped with charred moist oatmeal and elastic (yes, really elastic) ice cream. The waitress generously did not charge for this when she saw we wouldnt eat it. The best thing on the table was the wine which, luckily, we brought with us ($15 corkage). The service was prompt but the waitress had a particularly annoying but apparently uncontrollable penchant for addressing customers using terms of endearment.”

“I had Hong Kong delivered to my hotel room and the food was hot and delicious. They forgot the egg rolls, and when we called them back (10 mins after closing hours), they delivered them with apologies! Lots of food for your money.”

“I ate there this weekend. I was very disappointed that they changed their fries, which was one of the reasons I went there. I believe they used to use fresh potatoes, but now I believe they are using frozen ones. Well, if you do stop by and wonder why the fries are not as great as you hear now you know the reason. I personally won't go there again.”

“This has to be the best Mexican restaurant in New Mexico. At the moment, September 22, 2008, it is closed (for a couple more months) because of a fire that did major damage. This place is romantic and the food is the best I have found in New Mexico. It may seem like it is out of your way, but it is not. 10-15 minutes from Pojoaque. If you miss it, you have missed the best in New Mexico Mexican food. I also like Cafe de Benevedez in Albuquerque (4th street north) and Gabriel's, just north of Santa Fe and south of Pojoaque.”

“Moved to Gallup in 1987, today was my second time eating there - no improvement. It will be another 15+ years before I try them again. It has all the excitement and flavor of a grade school cafeteria except you'll need a weeks worth of lunch money, for just one meal.”

“La Posta restaurant in Old Mesilla, NM is by far the finest Mexican food restaurant I have found anywhere. Their creamy green Chile con queso, served with fresh corn tortillas is head and shoulders above any Mexican appetizer I have ever eaten. For food, atmosphere and service, I rate La Posta a solid nine.”

“They were out of my first choice of everything I wanted. from sandwich to dessert and it was still very early in the day. When I remarked that I wasn't doing too well at selecting things, I was invited to go eat somewhere else. I decided to take that advice. I haven't been back. Nor do I remember being treated so rudely in a restaurant ever.”

“For the last 2.5 years we have stopped at The Outpost whenever I traveled through just for their green chili cheeseburgers. We have sometimes planned my trip to accommodate a stop there. Today we stopped there for lunch. Besides a family finishing their meal we were the only other people in the restaurant. After a few minutes waiting for the waitress (who had seen us but hadn't approached) I left my order with my wife and used the restroom. After I returned a few more families came in and the waitress started taking orders from them. After she skipped us twice I approached her and reminded her we had been the first in the restaurant and were waiting for her. She rudely told me since I had gone to the restroom we'd have to wait our turn. Obviously that meant last in the building. I told her she'd lost our business for good and we left. It's a shame since my past visits have always been great. If you find yourself there waiting on a fat waitress with glasses - best luck!”

“Dandy Burgers is a favorite of our families when traveling through the quaint town on Espanola, NM located between Santa Fe, NM and Taos, NM. I always have a hard time choosing between Several items on the menu. One of my favorite dishes is the Jungle Jane Burger which is loaded with fresh guacamole, green chili, double meat and cheese. My husband loves the Jungle Jim which is the next size up of this burger. The Bandito Burrito is also delicious. Encased within a flour burrito are several types of cheese combined with green chili and deep fried. The combination of warm oozy cheese and spicy green chili always reminds me of home - yum! The Tewa Taco is a meal in itself with Indian fry bread as the foundation to hold red chili, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, cheese and olives. You need to be hungry to take on this dish! My kids love the Pachito - a burrito style hot dog with cheese, chili and lettuce. There are healthy options as well including a veggie burger with fresh guacamole and yummy vegetarian dishes. Their breakfast burritos are also a favorite on our way to Taos to ski. They are full of fresh ingredients and made to order. Many of the same employees have been there since the restaurant opened some thirty five plus years ago. Writing this review makes me want to make the nine hour drive to NM just to grab a late night snack!”

“This is no more than a drive through fried chicken stand manned by young kids who have no idea of customer service. Like many things in New Mexico, a state sorely lacking in good, healthy food, it has a very overrated reputation. The chicken is merely OK. The mashed potatoes are bland and pasty. The ribs greasy and hours old. Unless you are starving and don't mind a bout of intestinal rebellion, try something else.”

“The food here is authentic Thai and well prepared. One dish, I usually request, which isn't on the menu is pineapple shrimp in yellow curry and it's excellent. My family physician, (Chinese), has said this is his favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. I've been a, very, loyal customer for 7 years but have yet to try Bangkok Cafe which I'll review sometime! This is a great place to bring the family as the menu offers something for everyone and the Tom Yum Goong (hot and sour shrimp) curry base is the same one I use (which a friend sent me from Thailand). The atmosphere is a bit old and worn looking but the staff are friendly and helpful so this is, easily, overlooked (in my opinion).”

“Manager was very rude. Messed up my order then accused me of trying to get a free hamburger. This is not the first time. I had the store manager call the police on me after my order was wrong. If you go to McDonalds in Los Luna's make sure you don't complain or they will call the police or accuse you of being a liar. The food tasted like it was old.”

“On a recommendation from a local business we went for the "Green Chili Vodka Martini" problem was they were out of the mix! Specialty drink and no mix? Bad. Food was above mediocre but not exceptional. Ceviche was quite good. Would not go back just for the drink. If in the area there are several other choices.”

“My wife and I lived in Santa Fe in 1989-1990. Someone was recommended so we adventured to Espanola to celebrate my wife's birthday and were not disappointed. While living in Santa Fe, we dined there several times and took guests there on several occasions, all visits were great and our guests, from the U.S. and abroad, still talk about their experience dining there. As I live in Colorado Springs, I continue to refer clients there as many of my clientele travel to Taos and Santa Fe regularly. It is nice to know the restaurant has been a family operation for generations and will continue to offer consistent service and quality food, thereby I have no reservations in recommending the restaurant. The architecture, decor and ambiance is marvelous, just add a nicely cooked steak or other entree, along with a nice wine and good company and you will have an unforgettable experience.”

“We stopped into Blake's on our way out of New Mexico. As a former resident of New Mexico I like to dine at places that I once enjoyed such as Blake's Lotaburger. We were the only people in the restaurant at 2:30 pm. There were 7 employees there and it still took us 15 minutes to get our food. The cashier was clueless and had to cancel and re-enter my order to get it right even though it was directly off of their menu with little special requests. Don't expect to have your thirst quenched while there as refills cost extra. The food however was good. They have wonderful fries and for. 60 you can add green Chile to your burger. Great fast food restaurant if your not in a hurry to get back on the road.”

“This is probably the best Chinese restaurant in Taos. Since this is a small town, that's probably good. Everyone eats here. They are closed on Tuesdays, so make other arrangements if you happen to hit it that day. The menu is very varied, and most anything you choose is good. Excellent value for your money, and the leftovers (if you have any) warm up the next day very nicely.”

“Take your Yuppie attitude and drive on by. While family friendly this is a biker, cowboy, rancher, hunter, GI, backpacker, campers friendly place. Coldest beer in New Mexico and the Greatest Green Chili Cheese Burgers in the world. I've been going there since 1989 and it never changes. Cooks come and go, but the GCCB's stay the same. Excellent. I have taken a lot of visitors there over the years and everyone wants to come back. The decor is evolutionary. Stuffed animal heads, old guns, western without planning. It is as authentic as dust.”

“This 300+ year old adobe in the heart of Corrales is in the very capable hands of Chef Jeffrey Trent who took over the reigns from Jim White upon his selling the restaurant. Chef Jeffrey is a native New Mexican and a graduate of CNM (formerly TV) and has more than filled the shoes. The menu is extensive and creative and shows that this young man loves what he does.”

“This is a KFC and Taco Bell combined. We travel through Lords burg at least 2 times a year and have not been satisfied either time. We were at this location on a Thursday evening and the 6:45 PM and the dining area was locked and closed. Also there were people eating inside. They hung up a sign just as we parked in the lot. Only the drive through was open. We did not stay. I called the 1-800 number and after 3 more calls to the 1-800 number a manager finally called me back to explain. She had 3 different stories and only wanted to tell me that Lords burg is a awful town and that you cannot get good help. Funny how Subway can get the job done at the Loves truck-stop. Do not even bother going to KFC / Taco Bell in Lords burg just keep driving to the next town or go to the subway.”

“The tables are linen covered, but then covered with butcher paper giving less than the ambiance of Carabas. The wine list is impressive, but they have none in stock. The bread was stale as we found that they do not bake it there. It is delivered weekly and heated there to make us think they baked it (nice). My in-laws recently visited us and my wife and I wanted to take them for a nice dinner. We arrive for our reservation to have the manager sit us at the front of the restaurant for over 30 minutes while being ignored and watching people who arrived after us without reservations seated prior to us. When I said something to the manager, she said "let me get you a glass of wine". I don't know where she obtained this wine, but it certainly was not from a bottle. Finally we are seated and when our food arrives after a short eternity, we faced further disappointment. The food (as they call it) was Luke warm and substandard. The pastas were undercooked (not aldente, undercooked) and the meats were tough and tasteless, as if they had been frozen and refrozen. My mother-in-law could not even palate her $29 rib eye steak. When we requested assistance from our waiter, he went to the manager, and older woman whom we heard across the restaurant raised her voice to the waiter saying "I don't have time!" never came to assist. Strangely, she was doing nothing but talking to the cook while having what appeared to be a cocktail. The waiter then went to another manager who was a very young looking woman who said, "I will be right there." She quickly disappeared into the bar where I later saw her sitting, never to return to our table. We were more than outraged and embarrassed. Finally, we chose to pay for our disappointing dinner and leave. The only person who even attempted to give us a good dinner was our waiter who I feel very sorry for. At least he cared enough to try....”

“We first visited about 11 years ago - for our honeymoon. We were taking the first "leg" of our honeymoon in Espanola, NM at the Inn at the Delta bed & breakfast. We only stayed one night but each year we try to return. The property was amazing, the restaurant was breathtaking- the twinkling lights on the grounds of the restaurant- in cold early February-so romantic. The food was great, the service better. Would recommend (and always do) to anyone- whether it's a fancy night out or a casual dinner.”

“The restaurant experience was phenomenal from the beginning to end. We had an energetic waiter who was fun, and friendly, and had extensive wine and food knowledge. The waiter was timely and remembered all 10 of our orders in his head without any mistakes (not to mention gorgeous). I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. I had the Almond Crusted Halibut, and my husband had a steak, both were the best I have had in Albuquerque.”
