User Reviews for Nevada Restaurants« Go back to Menomonee Falls Travel GuideResearch User Reviews for Nevada (1-20 of 196)Taco Bell
“After walking for 30 minutes just to get to the Taco Bell I was told that they had closed 1 minute ago. The doors were not locked so I walked in. The food is rated a one because I never received it. Service is a 1 because there is no 0 as a choice.”

“Food was good as usual and don't mind the prices but then there was my great obese server. She was not only ugly and huge but a terrible server. I guess friends are more important than customers to her, she kept paying more attention to them that too any of her duties. Why do we have to put up with people like that? I mean, I did not chose her job, she did. At least she could try to fix her teeth and loose some weight, may be that is why she look so tired to take care of the people who at the end would tip her? And then there was the manager, any way, she was as bad as the server. At least she could brush her teeth or put a mint in it. She stunk like old alcohol. Totally disappointed with Red Lobster for having people like that working there. Oh! Well.”

“Not having the promised prime rib, waiting for a cocktail until the main course arrived, and so-so food, I cannot recommend this place. Service was OK, but everything else left a lot to be desired.”

“I took my 2 sons out to dinner for my younger sons birthday and the service was horrible. First of we traveled 28 miles just to eat at this place, which would not have been a big deal if there had been good service and better food. We waited for at least 20 minutes before anyone came over! After 20 minutes a waitress came and asked, did anyone come over yet? and I quote "we were deciding who was going to come over here". Now, what kind of a comment is that? At that point I should have just taken my family and left. Although, we decided to stay after the long drive and the service never got better. The waitress smirked about everything that I asked for and even acted like she did not know what paper napkins were. The service was bad and the food was dull and bland. I choose The Macaroni Grill over the Olive Garden, but it seems to have been the wrong choice. I would never recommend this location to anyone!”

“A very costly mistake for Chinese restaurant Shanghai Restaurant, located in Sparks, Nevada. Shanghai Restaurant and Sushi House should shut down their doors. This will be worth reading. 90 of our guests will not be eating here ever again! I recently had my Chinese wedding banquet at Shanghai Restaurant, located in Sparks, Nevada, across from Reed High School. The banquet was for 90 guests and the owner of Shanghai Restaurant assured me that they can accommodate that many guests. Boy, this kid did not know what he was talking about! The restaurant was not able to accommodate 9 tables that seated 10 guests at each table. So, he stuck 3 tables filled with 30 guests behind a divider that made my guests feel like they werent important enough to be with the rest of the group. Next, the tables that were supposed to be set up for the guest book, wedding cake and wine beverage were never in the right place, let alone enough spaces to hold everything. As the guests started to arrive, we asked the manager and his wait staff to begin bringing out the water or sodas or some beverage for the guests while they waited for dinner to be served. We were told that the restaurant did not have enough glasses for everyone, so the guests who really wanted a drink should ask for one. I was so disgusted when they started to bring out blue plastic cups to serve my guests with water and coke. They promised that the guests could have an assortment of sodas and tea. No tea was served as with the traditional Chinese wedding banquet. And who serves plastic cups? They did not even bring out any drinking glasses or tea cups! We even rented our own wine glasses to serve our own wine! The final straw was when a few dozen of our guests reported that they saw Shanghai Restaurant wait staff sneaking off plates filled with our wedding cake into the kitchen for them to enjoy. Guests witness them eating the cake behind the divider that separated the kitchen and dining area. I was thoroughly disgusted when I heard that the wait staff stole our cake and ate them without even asking! It was the most disrespectful thing that I have ever heard of in my entire life! I dont recall the wait staff as being part of the wedding guests? The service was so poor and the staff was rude and disrespectful to all of us! Disgusting! They screwed us over for the amount of money they charged and hence they screwed themselves over as well. The sushi there is terrible and is really fishy smelling. The dark room disguises the stale food. The seaweed salad is often served frozen. Terrible! Dont say I didnt warn you.”

“Whether you go winter or summer try the soup (stunning cauliflower and others in the winter, amazing cold fruit soups in the summer), have a terrific sandwich, save space for the best bread pudding you'll ever taste (varies every day as they use whatever muffins and/or French toast they have available) - and it comes with a Bourbon sauce! Then, finish with the Grand Cafe - the best coffee I've ever tasted! I cannot praise this place too highly - food is top class quality, like you would expect in a top class establishment, but it's available in a cafe near UNR. We visit from the UK at least six different weeks a year and this is our favorite eating place in the whole of the city.”

“A heart felt shout out of thanks to bartenders and all the staff at Double Diamond Restaurant & Casino. My business trip to Las Vegas was made enjoyable and fun at this busy local bar were visitors are treated like locals and friends. Unlike most Vegas bars, I got more than expected for less than I expected. Great drinks at fair prices with pool tables, electronic darts, jukebox and video poker. Every night had some promotion going on. Pool/dart tournaments, TV give away drawings, and people smiling. They run some casino worker, casino low priced drink, specials and non-gambler special drink, and prices that seem to keep the bar full. The joint was rock-in every time I went in. Went three nights and found even late night after midnight on a weeknight full of mixed crowd of mostly locals. Food was good pizza, sandwiches, wings and such cheerful singles and couples patrons, and 50-cent pool where even and poor player like me felt welcome. Well done, Ill be back next trip.”

“This store was operating during a recent renovation, so they didn't lose its shine. Committed patrons put up with inept personnel, long lines and inferior service. During the remodeling, the price of the bagels increased to $0.99/bagel! At the store today, I saw that the bagels are now one half of their original generous size. Both the size of the bagel and the price is truly obscene. As far as I'm concerned Einstein's bagels are too pricey for me and I won't be returning.”

“I would like to start by saying that Onda has a very impressive wine list and even though we ordered one of the cheaper bottles (under $100) it was excellent. Also, the salads were spectacular. The entries, on the other hand, weren't worthy of being served at a pizza shop. I ordered the cappelline with scallops and I couldn't believe how little flavor it had. The scallops were extremely overcooked and the rest of the dish lacked in any creativity in both its presentation and creation.”

“I love finding nice little independent places to eat. This place is definitely not one of them! Ate there on 28 Nov 08 on the way to Vegas. Upon entering, there were two 2 kids around 3 or 4 years old sleeping on the furniture where you would normally wait to be seating. Should have gone with my instincts, but my daughter and wife had their mind set on Mexican food. Our waitress was very sour and kind of reminded me of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi". I was secretly hoping this Mexican food would be as good as Seinfeld's soup. My daughter and I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas $10.95. My wife ordered the Fajita Wings $8.50. My son ordered the El Burro (giant burro) $11.95. The enchiladas were limp and not very hot. The chicken was bland, and the green sauce was plain (reminded me of store bought canned sauce). The beans were lumpy. I ate about 1/2 of the meal. My daughter took down about 1/4 of her meal. I'd rate this about a 2 out of five stars. It was barely tolerable. The El Burro was huge. But, again, nothing seemed homemade. My son ate the whole burrito (he plays football at Centennial High School). The Fajita wings were horrible. The wings were brittle and crispy (almost husk-like). It was like someone left them in the Fry Daddy a little too long. When the waitress came over and asked if she could take any plates, I advised her my wife was finished - she didn't like the meal. Without missing a beat and without a single comment or question, the waitress took her plate away. I got the distinct impression that this probably has happened on more than one occasion at this place.”

“This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in the Sparks area. The service is hit or miss, but the food makes up for all of this. It is Szechwan style food and has a great variety. I loved their Crispy Beef/Chicken, Sweet-n-Sour Pork, Chow Mein, Beef and Broccoli, and Mongolian Beef. The atmosphere is beautiful and clean too. I really enjoyed this restaurant.”

Great visit. Highly recommend this to restaurant to all visiting Las Vegas!”

“I first went to this restaurant when I was 5 years old. I am now 41. It has been a couple years since I have been there, but it was the same great place at 5 years old, as it was at 30 something! There has been a little renovation over the years. The restaurant has a wonderful old fashioned oak bar in the entrance. Great place to chat with locals and visitors while you wait for a seat. It isn't all you can eat, but what they serve you is more than most people can eat! Since I have grown and had kids of my own, I have taken them there to start another generation of JT'ers! They still ask when are we going back to JT's. The Carson Valley Inn next door in Minden is a great place to stay and play. We love it there! Even if you stay in Lake Tahoe, it is only a 30-45 minute drive over the hill to dine at JT's and the drive is beautiful. Maybe not the best during winter, but worth it the rest of the year!”

“The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night at 7:30pm, and it never did get crowded in the 2 hours we were there (surprising considering how popular I expected this place to be). Our server was extremely rude from the moment we arrived, the hostesses were obviously having a bad night, and the buzzer wasn't much better! In retrospect we should have asked for a new server as soon as we recognized that he was not the right fit, but I kept thinking he would warm up. We had a $1200 table that night, and since we were a larger group he knew that he didn't need to worry about the tip since the 20% service charge was automatic. We witnessed other tables having lively interactions with their servers, and receiving a birthday treat and song at the culmination of their meal, but our waiter couldn't wait to get us out of the restaurant and never did offer us dessert. There are too many other great restaurants in Vegas to spend your money where you are treated with disrespect. The birthday celebration was made memorable because of the amazing view, the incredible food, and the time we spent upstairs in the Lounge, but I would not return for a meal based on the attitude we received from the server.”

“How sad, after being a patron of this place for over 8 years to have to write a bad review. My family just got back from eating here, and I have to say we were treated so poorly, I felt compelled to write. While the food here has gone from great to ok over the years. The service just insulting. I'm not sure if it's the understaffing or the fact that the staff believes it owns the place. The last several times we've had to ask and reask for water, our food, etc. This time they tried to short us out of an entree, not by mistake, but just the fact they wanted to get rid of us. These are waiters we've known for years, just think how they treat tourist. To make matters worse, we asked for some soy sauce to go and was told by our waiter "no, we only provide it in house". Hey, I've only got it about 300 times in the last 8 years. We were, and I do mean were, loyal customers who left 20% tips. I can only say, do yourself a favor and don't be treated like second rate customers, go to one of the other many fine places in town.”

“Fantastic restaurant in the valley. We visit every time we pass through the area and in fact we try to time our visit to arrive at dinner time. Food is excellent and although it is not an all-you-can-eat, they provide more than you can ever possibly eat at one sitting. Those who are unfamiliar with Basque restaurants, dinner usually includes 3 to 4 main courses, soup, salad, French fries and sherbet for dessert and don't forget the pint of red wine for adults. Wait staff is friendly and quick and the fellow patrons are welcoming. Don't be surprised to encounter some honest to goodness sheepherders or local cowboys having dinner right next to you.”

“The staff is rude and very un-friendly. The menu is very limited and very expensive. My wife and I went in for one of their breakfast specials, ended up ordering bacon and eggs. The menu price was $8.99 for 3 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. We asked for only 2 eggs thinking there would be a reduction in price. Nope! And the coffee was only $2.25 per cup. The waitress never came back for refills until she was clearing the table and presenting us the check. Our breakfast special ending up costing over $24 smackers for 2 eggs and bacon and a pound of potatoes. Our recommendation is for anyone to avoid Joes unless you like spending a lot of money in a not so classy joint. Joes will probably be out of business soon.”

“I have visited the Road Runner by my house over in Centennial. Do not go. Every single time has been a terrible experience. The food is good, but I have never experienced such consistent and awful service. I usually sit at the bar so this would be directed towards the bartenders they hire there. Childish, unable to make change for $, sarcastic, unfriendly, unwelcoming, preoccupied and I'm sure I could find more to say about how dissatisfied I am each and every time I go there.”

“We were visiting family from out of town, and they took us here for dinner. We had halibut and prime rib, and they were both excellent. The staff was friendly and kept checking to see if we wanted anything more. The owner stopped by to make sure we were happy, and satisfied with our meal. I can't want to come back to Carson City to visit this restaurant again.”

“The portions are far from generous. The menu is over priced. The management did not care whether we were satisfied or not. We ordered the nachos and fajitas. The fajitas were not served steaming hot and there was more lettuce than meat. The nachos were flat and skimpy. When we called for the manager, he had a take it of leave it attitude, so, we left it.”

“Looked like a "hole in the wall" from the main street, in our experience - always worth checking out and we were very pleased. Clean, bright, nice outdoor patio. Service was excellent, food was great. If you have the delicious garlic chicken sandwich make sure your dining partner does too! Never eat garlic alone. We would absolutely stop there again, next time we are in Ely.”

“I just moved to Las Vegas from California and I live behind Zodies Bar. After passing it a couple of times I meet a friend there it was not up to date. Carpet very dirty. A porta potty at a all day concert is cleaner than their bathrooms. Not a comfortable or relaxing environment at all. I would definitely drive by to the next bar. Do not even waste your time or money. The bartenders service was horrible. She only catered to her regulars not very inviting for new comers, would not go back. People coming and leaving seemed like drug deals to me. Not safe at all. This bar should be closed down or renovated. Dirty drugs, unfriendly need to hire new bartenders. She didn't even make the drink right. My friend just took on sip and didn't even drink it.”

“My wife and I went in at 230Pm on a Wednesday afternoon. We tried to order 2 slices of pizza and were told they were out of pizza, we tried to order 1/2 dozen garlic knots and were told they had just sold the rest of them. The teenager behind the counter was rude, not offering other options. In a city as large as Las Vegas, you have many options for pizza, and based on the customer service I would not return or recommend this place to a friend. Go to Metro or Villa pizza instead two longstanding operations in Las Vegas. I guess if you want the NYC attitude and don't feel like actually being served food, then Martino's is the place to go!”

“One of the better places in Reno for sushi. Seems like there are hundreds in town. Menu has all the standards, including Godzilla rolls, rainbow, etc. Some rolls are house specials, and all are very good. Nothing especially authentically Japanese, but the overall value and quality much better than others in town (especially better than Sushi Club). Tell the chef what you like, and custom rolls will quickly appear. Everything fresh and high turnover, which is always a plus when dealing with seafood. In town, Sushi Moto in South Reno is also an excellent second choice.”
