Hacienda Mexican Restaurant

“Our server was a very lovely young lady, she was friendly lively and gave plenty of attention to our needs even though the were very busy. We had sat at the bar for a drink before we went to dinner the bartend was rude and slow she took forever to come take our order because she was standing there and talking to some friends at the end and then it took her forever to get our drinks. The hostess was rude when we came to the hostess stand she didn't even greet us. Our food was terrible it was salty and greasy, we literally pour a whole plate of grease of the top of our nacho it was terrible and the chips were so soggy you had to eat them with a spoon. The margaritas were pretty good but really small and overpriced. Our entries were okay the sever recommended a Navajo taco it was great and just as she described and for dessert we ordered a friend ice cream it was horrible and not fried at all. The manager never came by to see how our meal was in fact I never saw her leave the hostess stand except once to the servers in front of the whole dinning room how rude. We will not go back the only good thing about our experience was our server.”

“Absolutely the worst food I have ever paid for in my life. I lived in Germany for 13 years so I do know good German food. We had the Rouladen and it was horrid. The meat tasted terrible and the sauce was tasteless. The Spatzle was under cooked and the Red Cabbage would have been edible if I had not choked on a large bay leaf that had not been removed. The salad was the best part but for a $13 meal I expect more than a package of Kraft dressing thrown down with my salad. If this placed burned to the ground it would be a favor for anybody that accidentally stopped to eat here.”

• Sometimes too noisy with a game on many TV.

“This is our absolute favorite local hangout. We're in at least once a week for lunch, and even when crowded. The food is consistently good and comes out correctly. Wait staff has been good, sometimes excellent. Menu specials are attractive and well-priced, and the place is often packed.”

• The manager offered to take off the wings and ribs, we just wanted to leave.
• Service and the food quality.

“The service was awful, our waiter would take our request, say he would be right back, and never fill our requests. We asked for extra napkins and two small plates for our bones when the kitchen brought out wings out. He never brought them. He didn't bring my salad until I reminded him. Our glasses were empty most of the meal. I don't think he remembered to bring our bill, we had to ask, after waiting 20 minutes. Also, our wings were cold when they got to the table, as was most of our food. Worst Applebee's I have ever been too, and I love Applebee's.”

“I was very excited to have Imos pizza for the first time. I heard a lot about how good it was from local college and kids. However after eating this for the first time I knew that this have to be something they eat after a college party. So just about anything is good then. I rather not eat for the day if Imos is what I have to eat.”

“Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was told 45 minutes to 1 hour for delivery, waited 1-1/2 hours to have a pizza and salad delivered to a hotel without utensils. They knew the address of the hotel, the delivery person just said sorry when I questioned if she brought a fork for me. I called to talked to manager at store and he seemed bothered by my call when told him the problem with late delivery and no utensils. I told him the least he could do is act like he cared if the customer was not satisfied and he stated, this is just how I talk, do you want me to send out a fork? I told him not if it would take another hour and he said okay. Would not recommend! I am in sales now but had been in food service for 15 years and would never tolerate treating a customer that way!”

“We ate there with my son's soccer team while in St. Louis for a tournament. The stench upon walking in should have been enough to tell us to turn around and leave! But we were with a group. We were told ahead of time we would be able to order off the menu and each family would receive a separate check. After we got there, we were duped in to an "All you can eat buffet of pizza, pasta and salad. Service was beyond slow. We ate the first pizza as soon as it came out. It took 25 minutes for a second one to arrive and it was the last one. To be fair the pizza was pretty good. While we waited we were given mediocre spaghetti and meatballs and Fettucine Alfredo was poor and very runny. The salad was not enough to go around and no more was provided. Plates were set for us to help ourselves and they were dirty! The bathroom was filthy! And for this we were charged $12.95 per person! including the children some of which were only 5 and 6. The drinks were not included but they did charge an 18% gratuity on top of all that. We complained to management and it fell on deaf ears! Unbelievable! It was dirty, the food was marginal at best, we never did get 'the all you can eat feature'. It was limited to what they wanted to bring out, and the service was slow that no one wanted to wait any longer. Run as far away from here as you can! This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. How they are in business I will never understand!”

“Went there to celebrate my Wife's birthday with family and friends. 12 people in the party, made reservations. We were seated promptly and forgotten. When the waitress did arrive she took our drink order. Quite a while later she returned with some drinks and had forgotten some of the others. She took our food order (which included appetizers), the appetizers never arrived. When our food did arrive it was cold. I had the prime rib, it had a good flavor, but it was cold. Some members of the party asked for rolls which they never received, the drink refills were pretty much non existent. The service was horrid. There is a mandatory 18% gratuity on parties of 10 or more. If the service had been half-way decent I would have given more. as it turns out I feel that I was robbed! And to top it off, not a single one of the restaurant staff wished my wife a Happy Birthday.”

“Although the pies are scrumptious, the waitresses ruined the visit to slice of Pie. They are rude, didn't care about their customers or how they treat them, and exhibit their obvious dislike of their jobs. We ordered $20 worth of pies and were treated as if we were bothering them. And it does no good to tell the management because the night the help closed 15 minutes early and then stood snickering at us through the window, we wrote the owners and have yet after 2 years to receive an apology or a reply. Summary: great pie; rude and uncaring help.”

• I wish there was one close to St. Louis.

“I have been eating at Pizza Cellar since the early 1980s. We stop in for pizza when visiting friends every year. It is never a let down and I always anticipate the treat. It's a very unique atmosphere with plenty of sights and people to take in. The pizza is by far the best I have ever had. It's similar to a thin crust St. Louis style pizza, but with a little less tomato sauce, and tons more cheese. The ingredients stand out well when comparing to other pizza joints. Each slice of pizza probably weighs in at more than double of what other places give you. A medium size will easily feed two very hungry adults. Enjoy!”

“The Far East Inn is highly under rated. The food is authentic and home made. The husband takes the orders and the wife cooks the food. It's great if you get tired of the same old buffet food which never changes. Give it a try, you will be impressed.”

“I agree. The food is pretty good, but the service is usually pretty bad. Also, once we went there for dinner and one of our friends cut her lip on a piece of glass that was in her wine glass. I can't believe they actually charged us for the wine and on top of the owner, manager nor the waitress apologized. We use to go weekly, but after that incident, we hardly ever make it back. Sad because the foods is pretty good. Maybe new ownership would help.”

“They were out of straws - in the entire restaurant - and ice. That was just the start. The food was terrible and the place needed a thorough cleaning. I would not recommend this to anyone.”

“Service was the worst I have had for years and years. Waiter came fairly quickly and never saw him again until he brought bread. He took drink orders when first came by, but nothing to drink even with bread. Had to remind him and still took quite a while. Unfriendly and offended by our request. It just went from bad to worse. Never tried to apologize or make amends to help the tip. Food was sparse, served family-style, and pricey for what you got. He never showed up to re-fill drinks, table was crowded, the macaroni and cheese dish was comparable to fixing a basic plain box of Kraft macaroni and cheese. Stingy with the gravy, had to ask for enough for 4 of us. Again, long wait. Had to ask for check, left no tip! Would not eat there again.”

• Went on graduation day and there was not a lot of seating but the waitresses did great.

“This restaurant has the most fantastic Italian food! The Artichoke and Spinach dip was awesome. I definitely recommend this to anyone in the area. The prices are great too!”

“The BBQ are here to die for and they really pile the meat on the buns. The ribs were so thick and juicy. The food can't be beat. It's a great place to go for ribs and BBQ sandwiches and they have other foods there also, but sandwiches and ribs were our pick.”

• Bad food, lousy management. Probably won't be in business long.

“Soup on salad bar smelled burnt. Salad bar just okay. Salad/soup bar is extra $2.99. My wife ordered the fillet $18.99, and I ordered the porterhouse steak $22.99. Both were ordered medium, both were served very well over done, dry, and tasteless. My wives sweet potato was good, but my baked potato was dry, and overdone, even with the 0.99 cent extra charge for the toppings. Waiter was great, but his management failed him. Very noisy also.”

“Absolutely horrible. Plenty of better choices out there. Was in a group of 8 and all shared the same opinion. Avoid like the plague. For example, lasagna was cold, drinks were weak, floor was filthy, bathroom was worse. Avoid this place like the plague.”

“I chose to eat at this restaurant because the outside looked intriguing. Overall I thought that the service was very good, but the server seemed to be over-worked and/or in a crabby mood. This was minor. The food seemed fresh and was a bit spicy. I had the Mexican pizza. The portions were generous. I would definitely recommend Senor Peppers to anyone in the Camdenton/Lake of the Ozarks area.”

“All I can say is that if you want a really lively, fun happy hour with Mexican-type appetizers, this place is overflowing with people. Wonderful outdoor patio area in the warmer weather, and the physical space within the bar and restaurant is very inviting. As for going there for an actual meal, if you are particular about the authenticity or quality of your Mexican, there are better choices than Hacienda.”

“This is very good American style Chinese food. The owner is so nice. She always greets me with a big smile and I only go there about 3 times a year. She seems to always recognize us and treats everyone very warmly. The wait staff is very attentive, well decorated for a small town restaurant.”

• I am impressed with the quality of food and service you receive for the money.

“If you are hungry and looking for big bang for your buck, Cedar's is the place to go. They serve Grandma style food (and portions) at super low cost. I have never walked away from a meal there hungry or unsatisfied. The staff is very friendly and prompt with their service. This is a great place to go for a quick hearty lunch. The Chicken Fried Steak is phenomenal and humongous.”

“My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant before. We stopped there again as we were passing through on a trip in late February 2009. The atmosphere is small-town-country. The food is delicious, quantity is large, service is prompt and friendly! We highly recommend this restaurant! Since we are non-smokers we would prefer that the smoking section be moved to the back room so we would not have to walk through the smoking area. I am asthmatic and the smoke bothers me. Obviously, we like it well enough to make this a regular stop when we are traveling through Van Buren, Missouri. Sherman Shell Springfield, MO.”

“My husband and I thought the place looked great from the outside. The place looked cheaply decorated on the inside (i.e. not a lot of effort). The food tasted liked the opened a container from Sam's club. The place was loud and the servers were not very friendly - except to the regulars.”

“This is one of the few Japanese restaurants that offer grilled fish on their menu. So I come here for the grilled mackerel. I also get to orders of their crunchy roll no. 1, which is a shrimp tempura roll for the drive home, delicious. They have a large bento menu so you can try a few selections at a time, if you're not that familiar with Japanese cuisine. They do get very busy at lunchtime but they are very good at getting everyone in. They are on a main road with lots of parking.”
