“This Applebee's is amazing, the host was great and asked me how I was doing. The waiter helped out with our order and did not seam to mind spilling up my sons spilled water. I will definitely tell my friends about this restaurant.”

“Recently passed through on the way to Florida and was presently surprised with what our family found. A rustic building with character and charm. The food was fantastic with a rib eye steak that is out of this world. Will make it a must stop whenever I pass through town.”

• That we missed hearing more of the band.

“My family and I came to the restaurant to celebrate my brothers birthday on the 6th of June we were all very pleased with the atmosphere, the food, friendly and great service by all of the staff. As it was our first visit to the restaurant, we were unaware that the band stopped playing at 8, so we regretted that we had not come earlier so that we could have enjoyed the music. However the musicians came to our table and sang happy birthday to my brother and we were all entertained by the music. As none us had remembered to bring a camera one of the waitresses was so sweet and let us use her camera, All in all it was a fantastic night and everyone in our party agreed that it was a great place to go for dinner, and we all hope to be back there soon to enjoy another great meal.”

• Poor sides, service, and overpriced.

“I am a business traveler from Texas, so I do know my steak. In fairness, the meat itself was good. My problem was with the sides and service. The salad consisted of a little iceberg lettuce with half of a cherry tomato and a single slice of cucumber. Nothing else. The MSG seasoning in the rice was excessive, the steamed asparagus marginal and priced at more than a dollar a spear. The server was curt and inattentive. At the conclusion of the dinner, she literally tossed the check folder onto the table. In short, it was overpriced for the value that we received. I would not recommend this establishment. I should add that, while waiting at the bar to be seated, the bartender gave me change for a twenty when I paid with a hundred.”

“Cafe New Orleans in D'Iberville is the BEST restaurant on the Ms. Gulf Coast! The food is always great and I never leave hungry. My family and I eat there regularly and have for years. I bring family and friends there from out of town and every time I speak to them they always mention how awesome it was and they can't wait to come to visit and eat at Cafe. Our server was excellent! She is very attentive and definitely has that southern hospitality they are known for. I highly recommend everyone try it! I know you'll love it and it will be your favorite restaurant too!”

• Tacky out door atmosphere and the staff sitting around front entrance smoking.

“I have been eating here for many years and have seen many changes, most for the good. However, lately there appears to be a lack of pride or monies to keep the outside patio area in repair. It is quickly becoming tacky with its broken lights, broken fans, broken umbrellas at the tables and the duct tape strips hanging from the copper patio cover. The patio area is the first thing patrons see and have to either walk through to eat, inside or out. The wait staff was always friendly and willing to serve. I feel they are a bit understaffed. My biggest complaint is: Why do the wait staff take their smoke breaks at the font entrance of the restaurant? They are all seated or huddled around the one and only entrance smoking and talking. One must walk past them, through them and all the smoke to get in to sit and eat. That does not make for a good impression. Or at best can send the wrong impression to new patrons.”

• The food is good and there are good choices.
• Gets crowded very quickly around lunch-time.

“This restaurant is located on Pass Road in Gulfport, just West of Washington Ave. It is probably the best buffet in town for the price. The chicken is offered as fried, spicy or mild. There is dirty rice and fried chicken livers. The vegetables are well cooked and quite tasty with a good choice. There is also a small desert bar with soft serve ice cream, brownies and various toppings for the ice cream.”

• Steak marinade adds a good flavor.
• Steaks are full of fat, not enough good meat.

“I have been to Cheryl's several times and each time the steaks are a lower quality. They are full of fat. We asked about getting another steak only to be told they would cut it for us. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. Their marinade has a very good flavor but the steaks have so much fat in them that you cannot enjoy the flavor.”

• Just about everything. no kidding!

“This with out a doubt one of the worst places that I have ever eaten! It is expensive to begin with. We went around 6:00 on a Friday night. The outside of the building is nice but very deceiving. The inside was horrible. It's scary! Lets talk about some high school cafeteria food. Besides the weak salad bar, the only other vegetables was coleslaw, corn on the cob, fried okra. The boiled shrimp was overcooked as was the fried shrimp. Potato casserole was like plaster. The rolls got harder as you chewed them. Jello and soft serve ice cream for desert. Most of the hot pans stayed empty the whole time that we were there. Oh yeah, a cook on break stared at us for 10 minutes through the window while he smoked, creepy! Better southern food at a Chinese buffet! Won't ever be back Ponders!”

“We went on Valentines. There was a crowd, but the wait was under 20 minutes. It was my first time, and the food was great! We had the sweetheart special. It comes with a juicy steak, moist chicken breast, and great shrimp. I would recommend to anyone.”

• Food is some of the best in town, it's for sure a local favorite, atmosphere is nice.
• Can be busy sometimes ( may be a wait), sometimes loud.

• The dollar menu is great!
• The main window is broken.

“Well, the main order window is usually broken, especially now. And there is a list of the items they are out of. And guess where you have to give your order, pay and recieve your food? The second window. Usually, people just drive off. But the brave yet hungry people stay. And if you ask for something left off your sandwich, usually it's left on. Or they forgot a sandwich, and you have to back up, and wait again.”

• Too far away from where I live for me to visit every single day.

“We were spending a night in Jackson on a trip recently, and we wanted a local place for lunch the next day before heading out. I ordered the smothered pork chops with okra and tomatoes and mashed potatoes, and my husband ordered the oxtails with squash and I seem to be forgetting his other vegetable right now. The meal was served with your choice of bread, which of course we both picked cornbread. The dining room is small, yet very comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly. Do not be put off by the outside appearance of this small, quaint little restaurant, because inside I can assure you it is only the finest quality of good home cooked soul food. This will be a regular for us anytime we are even close to Jackson, MS.”

“The restaurant was semi clean, the salad bar was fair. They had iceberg lettuce that was not good it appeared to have been there for a few days. The young lady who we first approached to pay for our meal was very nice. The waitress was ok however never came back to see if we were doing ok. The steak and the potato was very good! But skip the salad.”

“I've eaten at this restaurant two times now and both were very good experiences. The food is really very good. The crawfish dip appetizer is excellent with a bit of a bite to it. My wife, son and I had 3 of the pasta dishes our last trip and all were delicious. I've yet to have been there when it is crowded so my service was excellent. The beer is cold.”

• Fresh salad greens and fresh seafood. Like the coating on the fried oysters. It was not too heavy. Typical local seafood restaurant. Personnel were friendly and competent.
• A little loud.

“The food was great! One of the best burgers I have ever had anywhere! However, the table was a little dirty and there were dryer sheets hanging from all of the doorways. Overall, I would definitely go back again next time I'm in the neighborhood, I may just visit the drive through.”

“I absolutely love Bonsai. The first time I went I wasn't sure I'd like it. I fell in love! Once you go there you can't get enough. Its so good that I could eat it everyday. It is my favorite place to eat.”

“Can I be the first to say DELICIOUS! I love Ward's. I'm out of Mississippi a lot due to my job but when I come home, ward's is on my mind. I am a true lover of the little one combo (with a fruit punch). Every since I was a child something about that delicious burger has always put a smile on my face. The chili oozes off the side which is fine with me because that's the way it's supposed to be and makes the burger that much better. I don't know why Ward's isn't in other states it's definitely a Mississippi thing but hey I love it. Just makes me want to come home more!”

• Hibachi show was well worth time and price of meal.
• Service could be better waiter only came to the table twice during 2 hour meal.

“Excellent hibachi show, cooks are amusing and engaging. Price of meals may be a little high but the show more than makes up for that. Soup, salad, sushi (if ordered) and main meal plus entertainment make for an enjoyable evening.”

• Really good seafood.
• Had a long wait before being seated (45 minutes).

“Nice rocking chairs on the front porch, while you wait. It was nice, but it was also late winter. The fried shrimp and fish were really good.”

“Cafe New Orleans is fabulous! The atmosphere is down home and casual. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and courteous. When you sit down they bring you hush puppies and dipping sauce. The servers are right there to take your order. The portions are huge so bring your appetite! Our seafood platters had fish, shrimp, oysters, stuffed crab, seasoned new potatoes and a salad. The fish, oysters, shrimp and crab were perfect. The potatoes were sauteed with butter and seasoned with just the right amount of Cajun seasoning. The salads were fresh and crisp. Everything was fabulous and I would recommend Cafe New Orleans to everyone.”

“It was a party of six food some of the food was not done, employees was playing all over the place and as food was waiting to go to guest employees stood over food laughing and playing as well as touching one another. Waitress even went to the back playing with the cook in plain view. Service was awful waiter acted as if he didnt want to do anything. He was terrible; I dont believe there could have been a Manager in the store. The day we went there was a Sunday after church on May 25, 2008. I wouldnt ever go back or recommend that place to anyone.”
