“Trust me! I was born and raised in Onset and know Marc Anthony personally. If you like New England style seafood then you cannot find a better place on the coast. Marc is a great business man and you will get a Great meal for a fair price. I honestly cannot tell you about the Italian Food their because I have never eaten it. I could not go into Marc Anthony's without eating clams, scallops and fries, period.”

Milanos Pizzaria & Restaurant
Aug 1, 2009 by Lucy from Springfield

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • The Cappuccino was decent.
  • The wait staff were inattentive. The food was ghastly and over priced for what it was.

“Wow. I heard so many great things about this restaurant. I don't understand why or how this place is still in business. I also don't even understand why this place is always so busy! I guess people prefer quantity over quality these days. I ordered the Tortellini with Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo sauce is obviously not home made. It tastes like melted American cheese because it had that terrible pasteurized, fake taste. The Tortellini were pretty disgusting as well. Obviously they only use very cheap, bad quality ingredients that they keep frozen. Yum! The prices were high. Hey, I think I made a connection here. I will not be going back. I'd rather stay in and cook! At least it would taste more authentic.”

Landfall Restaurant
Jul 18, 2009 by Victor from Taunton

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[6] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Courteous, expeditious staff; very good mixed drinks; and appetizers were tasty.
  • Their entrees are too steeply priced for the diminutive amount served.

“I had heard from a colleague of mine from work that this was a decent restaurant, so I drove down there with some friends from the hospital to try it out. Parking is difficult to find in that area, so one has to pay to park in the parking lot next to the restaurants a nominal fee of $3 for 3 hours. The staff at Landfall Restaurant found us seating quite quickly, and a waitress arrived shortly thereafter. Their bar makes very good drinks: the Bloody Mary was very tasty, spicy and garnished well. The steamers (clams), as an appetizer, were served as a very generous portion of about 25-30 of them; they, too, were very flavorsome. However, our party was quite disappointed with the entrees. The Fried Fisherman's Platter was sparse in its content of shrimp (3), scallops, fish pieces and clams; yet, for the price it was not so representative for the quantity which one would expect. The Lobster Roll, moreover, was the laughing stock at our table: there was a small, palm-sized serving of some pieces of lobster on one piece of lettuce and an open white roll. It truly looked like a children's serving; and, it was $16. People at our table said that D'Angelos serves a Lobster Roll twice as big for 10 bucks. I felt quite disenchanted. So, I think that Landfall Restaurant has a nice atmosphere/view of the bay, has excellent & courteous staff, and very good drinks and appetizers. However, their entrees are too steeply priced for the diminutive amount served.”

China Star
Jul 11, 2009 by Jill from Westfield

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[3] • Service:[4] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Nothing.
  • Unappetizing food, lazy servers, outdated and broken decor.

“I thoroughly disliked this restaurant. I had the buffet, and even at the love price, but I feel I paid too much. The buffet was meager, featuring only a small sampling of the fare at other buffets. The food was not particularly good either: the chicken fingers were mostly dough, the wonton soup was lukewarm, the spare ribs were intolerably gummy, lo mein just tasted off and the taste of their dessert cake nearly made me vomit. The booth we sat at was literally falling apart, the decor was outdated and somewhat unwelcoming and the staff was not particularly helpful, and for the most part just sat down at a booth and twiddled their thumbs. I do not plan to ever visit this restaurant ever again and wish I had not wasted of my hard-earned money only to stop at McDonald's on the way home, which in comparison was top-shelf cuisine.”

Seawitch Seafood Restaurant
Jun 28, 2009 by Jean from Needham

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The best seafood I've ever had anywhere!
  • The restaurant can be a bit too cool but that's because the waitress is running to give great service!

“Bring a jacket or sweater - sometimes the air conditioning is cold but the food is always hot and superb! The onion rings and scallops are to die for! Not greasy at all. The coleslaw is exceptionally good. The specials dinners are usually around $6 or $7 and absolutely wonderful! A real bargain. I don't think I've ever had better seafood than at the Seawitch!”

“Two for one Lobster boil on Tuesday night. Not really. They want to charge an extra $9.00 for me to share the dinner with my 3 year old son. The salmon dinner sounds good on the menu, but it comes with boxed rice pilaf (I mean the rice a roni kind). Never again. I can make rice pilaf myself.”

Midwest Grill Inc
Jun 10, 2009 by Bob from Boston

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[2] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • I liked living.

“While it might be a good value for the money if the food was moist, it is not because of the dried out meats. The waitress told us that the dessert was included and it wasn't. The owner wouldn't do any thing to make it up to us. The steam table had unmarked, unidentifiable dishes, the cold table was abuzz with flies and they followed us to our table every time we sat back down. They were very attentive to our drinks, though. But at 7 a pop and nothing to write home about, why wouldn't they be? Stay away at all costs.”

Flatbread Co
May 22, 2009 by James

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Healthy and out of this world delicious pizza.
  • Parking can be tricky, but with a little planning ahead or a little walking, it's easy enough.

“Flatbread Co. is an excellent place to drop in for some of the best pizza money can buy. You won't find the normal greasy, rushed Italian pie fare here. Every flat bread pizza (they simply call them flat breads) has been delightful flavorful and never have I felt bloated and disgusted with myself after eating, like most pizzas. The Flatbreads come in some fairly familiar setups with healthy twists such as the nitrate free pepperoni, as well as some very interesting creations. If you are looking to satisfy your hunger for meat, they have a meat-packed flat bread to leave you smiling but if you are on the other side of the spectrum, they also have a vegan specific flat bread for you. I would also like to note that as someone who suffers from chronic heart burn, I found the food here to be so easy on the digestive system that I have not the usual issues that come with pizza. The ingredients from the perfect dough to the amazing Topings are all natural and the wait staff is happy to forward any requests to the chef. Don't care for onions, just ask the staff nicely and they will be more than happy to make sure your flatbread is just the way you want it. The restaurant is squeaky clean and the decor gives you plenty to look at if the people you are with are a bore or if you are by yourself. From every seat in the restaurant you have a great view of the beautiful hand - built oven as well as the area in which the chef works. The restaurant also features a well stocked bar for while you are waiting or if you simply wish to wet your lips. The only potential downside of this location involves the parking. Because it is located within a very tight part of Amesbury, parking can be sparse and you may have to get a little creative.”

Number 9 Park

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • The wait staff was very nice.
  • All of it.

“This was the worst I've ever encountered for a night out. We were a crew of 6 people. The menu's were limited & very confusing. The prices were sky high. The food was cold & you didn't get much on the plate. They force fed us with rolls to supplement what we were not getting for the main meal. Three of us had 1/4" depth of Lobster Bisque in my bowl, with a 1" square Pork Belly for supper. The other three had noodles & beef. Box of pasta $0.99. The funny part of this is that those who frequent here seem to be enjoying it. I'm amazed this place has flourished. If you gave us a free meal here we wouldn't come again! I've had better meals in school cafeteria. This place is a joke & the sooner people wake up to it the better. Well the joke was on us.”

Bluefin Restaurant
Mar 12, 2009 by Jay from Cambridge, MA

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Excellent food, great prices, kid-friendly, great service.
  • Crowded, annoying televisions.

“Bluefin Restaurant is a great place to find inexpensive and highly authentic Japanese cuisine. Their sushi prices are excellent, and their combo specials are a great value. My husband loves the donburi rice bowls, and my younger daughter loves the miso soup. This restaurant is amazingly tolerant of children and has a wide selection of kid-friendly foods. It's a bit crowded and tends to fill up quickly during peak times, and I'm mildly annoyed by the televisions in every dining room. But compared to the other tiny restaurants in the Porter Exchange, it's downright roomy. Conveniently near the Kotobukiya grocery and video store, a bubble tea vendor, a small bakery, and Tokai, which sells Japanese teapots, clothing, and novelty items like stuffed Totoro and Hello Kitty dolls. This is my daughters' favorite place to go out to eat.”

“This is a pub. It has pub food and pub atmosphere. For a pub the food is great and a good value. As a fine dining restaurant it would be poor. If you like a pub environment and pub food and drink this is a good place for you. If you are going to go and expect a great steak don't waste your time. Service is great for the most part.”

  • Probably nice place to have a beer. Nice waitress.
  • Everything else.

“First time at Durgin-Park. Perhaps bad luck first time but the food was awful with the some exception of the ribeye steak. However, they only serve it rare or medium rare. Appetizers: onion rings, chicken fingers, calamaris and baked beans a total disaster. No taste whatsoever. The peppercorn sauce for the ribeye was thin and salty. Tiny portions of sides like baked potato, French Fries and squash. Legal Seafood is a paradise compared to Durgin-Park and does not cost more. If this is one of Boston's showcases then Good Night. Only positive: our waitress was very nice and service was quick.”

Turners
Jan 30, 2009 by Ben from Melrose

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Crab cakes.
  • Too busy sometimes?

“My girlfriend and I live in Melrose, and since we first ate at Turners we have probably gone back at least once a month. The food is always good, the service is good, and the atmosphere is nice and classy enough without being stuffy. We have eaten and like a good number of menu options; Lobster roll, clam chowder, lobster bisque (with added lobster meat!), stuffed clams, crab rangoon dip, crab cakes, stuffed shrimp etc. All were very good, especially the crab cakes which in my opinion are the best I have had! I often order the surf and turf (with either the crab cakes or the lobster pie without the crumbs) and the only complaint I could make is that the fillet is sometimes a bit overcooked (ordered med rare). As far as service is concerned, it is generally good to very good though when it gets busy the staff can be a bit inattentive but not to the point where you feel ignored (I would rather be left alone than coddled all night by a server who asks how everything is three times during the appetizers).”

“I live down the street from Heav'nly and I absolutely love it! They have a wide variety of breakfast foods and pastries and even though you can get the same types of food at other places, Heav'nly offers many different flavors that you cannot find anywhere else. Also, the quality of the food/drinks are much, much better than any other coffee place. Ever since I've started going to Heavenly they are the only place I will go to. Even though there is always a line in the morning, the employees always remain friendly and the line moves pretty quickly. I know that they currently have three stores opened- one in Methuen, one in Lawrence, and one in Haverhill so if you happen to be driving past one someday stop in and I promise you won't regret it!”

  • Good egg roll.
  • Everything else awful.

“We moved to the area several months ago and have been waiting to try Royal Dynasty. We ordered a PuPu platter, rice, and crab rangoon. The food was some of the worst Chinese I have ever had. The food was cold, soggy, and the beef teriyaki was incredibly dry. I would never waste my money again!”

  • Food is excellent.
  • Never getting your order right.

“Never get the order right or if you order delivery it is never on time. Great food? How do they stay in business with all the screw ups?”
