User Reviews for Indiana Restaurants« Go back to Moulton RestaurantsResearch User Reviews for Indiana (21-40 of 397)Restaurant Tallent
“On a recent trip we visited this restaurant based on the AAA guidebook and an article in Midwest Living magazine. To begin with, we were very disappointed in the menu - one of the reviews had raved about the scallops, a favorite of one of my traveling companions - only to find that the menu changes frequently and there were no scallops or the reviewed bread pudding. I had the snapper entree - fish was tasteless but the risotto was okay. One of my friends had the salmon and ate only a little as she thought it tasteless as well. Friend who ordered the vegetarian dish did like it. Desserts sounded better on the menu than on the plate. Our meals were definitely not worth the price that night.”

“Good food. Great for a pick up order. Not child friendly.”

“The beer was cold, the food was good, but ladies don't let the leash out too far. The workers and local in that town don't know the line of country friendliness and plain old tramp. I would just assume grab some cold ones, get some good friends and drink with better company!”

“Dining at Strongbow Inn is ALWAYS a pleasure. Although we may only visit a few times a year, the service, food, and facilities are always top shelf. However, the restaurant strives to make all visitors comfortable - no matter who they are or what they are wearing! Everyone who arrives is treated as an old friend. What an accomplishment to consistently achieve stress free wonderful dining for so many years.”

“I really enjoy going to Bronko's when I am in the area for work. Though the food is okay, one waitress treats you like she's known you forever. While you see the other waitresses and hostesses talking and complaining-which isn't hard to see since they do it right in front of you. You see her hurrying up the aisle getting drinks, extra napkins, etc. Though I could go to many places and get the same food, I enjoy seeing the regulars talking to one another like they've known each other for years.”

“If you truly want authentic Mexican food please don't come here. El Amigo in Valpo is the best authentic Mexican food in Valparaiso hands down. It's also about the same price or possible cheaper.”

“I am a frequent business traveler to the area. I stay at the Candlewood and appreciate that The Library provides delivery to me there. Every meal I have gotten has tasted awesome. I only had problems with the order being incomplete one time, otherwise they were right on, quick and professional.”

“If you are a turkey lover you will love this place. It has been around for generations. I love the turkey pot pie and a slice of pecan pie. It is probably among the most expensive restaurants in Valpo.”

“We went here because we heard they had good food, that was the biggest lie I ever heard. Most disgusting food I have ever had. I went there starving hungry, took one bite of everything. Was gagging or spitting out most food. You have to pay before you eat and that is the only way they make their money. I left and went to Taco Bell that's how bad it was.”

“The food was great, but the service was lousy. Ordered a New York strip and finally twenty minutes later we are informed they were out of the New York strip. No one told the waitress that the New York strip wasn't available. Management did nothing to help our situation. The young waitress was on her own and really was left out in the cold. I am really frustrated with the whole situation.”

“At one time, you could call Albano's pizza the best you've ever had. This is sadly no longer true. I'm not sure why, perhaps they changed owners, but the pizza just isn't good anymore. They have cut back on all ingredients vastly affecting the taste of the pizza. It's now nothing better than a value store bought pizza.”

“The Iowa chop wrapped in bacon was a 10! The portions were large, the prices were very fair, and the service was outstanding. I look forward to my next trip through Monticello so I can eat at Sublette's!”

“The food is served family style meaning they bring it to you in bowls. I ordered the turkey dinner. The turkey is the kind grocery stores use to sell lunch meat from. The mashed potatoes were instant. The green beans were good. The rolls were hard. My husband and I felt our meals were very similar to frozen dinners. The service staff was friendly although there was too much time between salad and dinner.”

“First time there and I'm sold on the place. My 13 year old son and I chose the lunch buffet. Nice variety of pizza's. Small, but fresh looking salad buffet. Soup in a kettle. And above all the best spaghetti I've tasted outside of the ones we make here at home. Westfeild store has a pizzeria look with a nostalgic look also. Even as more customers came in, the buffet was kept stocked with food. This is a plus. No one wants to eat at a buffet where you have to wait for the food or the food is cold and stale. You won't find that at Jan's Village Pizza.”

“Arrived early to be seated, had reservation. Seated us 15 minutes after our time. Waitress acted as if we burdened her to wait on us. She never offered refills and when we asked she commented that 4 other people had to agree to eat it to before she brought out refills. Constantly asked for refill on drinks too. This is a family style eating restaurant. You pay a hefty price for the meal and our waitress limited us on the food. Also no Apple Butter was on the table to eat, my son said he saw others with it as we were leaving, until I mentioned it as I left did they offer any to me. They offered it to me as I was leaving. And it was only a 1 cup Styrofoam container. I was very upset as to the cost we paid and we had to beg to get refills. There policy is as many refills as you want.”

“I have eaten a NOA several times. The last time, yesterday evening, was the last time. They sat me at the bar, that was fine. Then they sat 3 others next to me cramming me in to where I could hardly move my arms. I moved to another side where a gentleman had just got up. I will just take my money and business guests elsewhere.”

“The Glass Chimney has come under new ownership sometime in the last year. Prior to that I believe it was excellent (it was my grandparents' favorite restaurant, they celebrated birthdays and anniversaries there for years.) In March of '09 (one month ago) my family and I ate there and were sorely disappointed. The food is nothing special considering how expensive it is. My steak was far worse than many less-expensive steaks I've eaten (it was ridiculously hard to chew and the flavor was not particularly tasty either). My husband, mother, and aunt and brother each commented on how they were disappointed by their food as well, considering how expensive everything was (we each ordered different menu items).”

“Everyone in my family & all our friends LOVE Goose Pond Pizza! We think it is the best in town! Other places do not compare to theirs. Their Stromboli's are great too! Another great thing is we are only a few blocks from them so it is very handy for us!”

“On March 14th, my wife and I was visiting family who recommended the Log Inn. After being told about the 3/4 to hr wait we chose to wait. Once seated we gave our food order with the drink order. After waiting about 45-50 minutes for our food, my sister in law spoke with management about the wait. We were told a fryer was down and it would be at least 5 more minutes. After another 15 minutes we left. The management was unapologetic and had a bad attitude. We were never even offered an alternative meat so we wouldn't have to wait longer for our food. Thank you to the server who brought my nephews rolls to eat while we waited and had to endure the situation. We were not alone.”

“I ordered a rib-eye medium rare and it was charred black on the outside, raw on the inside. The decor was busy and distracting. The server was far too busy playing with the other servers to give proper service. I don't find it at all family friendly when the only thing that sections the dining room from the bar area are some cheap blinds. The smoke from the smokers in the bar area invaded the dining area. I will not return or recommend to anyone that they give this place a try.”

“Me and my husband went here on Valentine's Day. Everything was so peaceful. There was even a great special! A few weeks after that, we took our kids there. They loved it! There was little toys they could play with and coloring crayons! The waitress was so friendly and they loved the kids menu trays!”

“Food was decent. Service was extremely slow, waitresses need better training. Crowded seating. Small waiting room. Parking lot was small.”

“I would have to say that the cost has increased dramatically over the years. Although sometimes steep, to me it is worth it. I have been going there since they opened their doors as the Pasta House. Everyone there is extremely friendly to us. I now reside in Lafayette, Indiana and have driven from there to Evansville just to eat there. Great place. The only problem I've had is sometimes the service is slow and sometimes the new waiters are not as hospitable. But I understand that it can be hectic when busy plus learning the ropes.”

“I was in there Friday evening (2/27/09) on the recommendation of a relative that you had good tenderloin sandwiches. The sandwich was not good. The tenderloin had been flattened to be 1/4" thick and then over-cooked so that the meat was dry, hard and lacking flavor. The onion on the sandwich was bitter. The meat was triple the size of the bun. Making it very unattractive and impossible to eat. Just make the meat fit the bun, do not pound it out so thin and do not over cook it. Leave some moisture and flavor in the meat! I was disappointed and felt I did not get any value for my money. I tried to eat it, but it honestly was a chore.”

“Most likely the world's largest pork tenderloin can be found here. (Must be seen to be believed. About twice the size of the plate!) This thing feeds two or three people. Great fish, don't let the Tavern name fool you. I live in MN and return one weekend every year. Never had a bad meal, or anything less than friendly service. Sharing a table can be interesting. Always meet nice people there. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served.”

“This is my absolute favorite casual, fun, mid-western dining place with delicious home- fried chicken, slaw, peas, green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, pies and cakes served family style; I jump at every chance to go there for dinner and am always extremely satisfied with everything about the dining experience! I love it!”

“A local favorite. Lively. Informal. Friendly staff. Inexpensive eats and drinks. Caters to a somewhat younger crowd with eclectic taste in rock music. As with most area bars, it can be smoky since Indiana has not yet mustered the political will for a state smoking ban.”

“True it is a little pricey for their weekend buffets especially if you have kids but the adult all you can eat seafood buffet, which I think is AMAZING and they have a great variety. Our family LOVES this restaurant not for everyday but a once a week kind of nice family meal. We like to go Friday's for Seafood!”

“I love eating at Turkey Lake Tavern. The fish is great. I don't even care for fish, but there is something that keeps drawling me back to this fish. I have been caught. I tell everyone how great it is even the salad is good. The tartor sauce is to die for. It is a must try it place.”

“A very nice restaurant in a smaller town. We have been there several times and the food is very good. The Bouillabaisse was excellent on this visit. The salad and salad dressings were also very good. The chicken dish was very tasty but the breast was dry and small for the price. Shrimp dish was tasty and adequate. The fillets need to be ordered rare to get medium rare. Wines were good. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.”

“The Scnitz is a great place to go for any special occasion or a night out. They specialize in German Food but everything on the menu is excellent! Their salad bar is over the top with the most choices of any nicer restaurant I've been to. It's always a great place to go!”

“I love the food here and the restaurant is clean and the staff is always friendly. The only drawback is that the restaurant is always very crowded. It is not unusual to wait 15-30 minutes for a table on average and around 60+ minutes on Saturday nights. The noise level can get very loud. Definitely worth it.”

“All other reviews I just read were very old. A single word to describe it would be nasty - a can of friskies has a leg up on this place - did this place change ownership? They don't even have bread in the place to make a fish sandwich, only hamburger buns. The seafood been in the freezer since then, fried in old grease and served up for high prices. we have never done this before, but as soon as we left we went directly to king fish, excellent food at reasonable prices!”

“If you really like fresh fish, that is flown in, and you can actually see before it's cooked, you will like this place. The sushi is absolutely the best. The turn-over is so good, everything is fresh. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're on vacation, and the employees truly enjoy there work and take pride in what they do. Highly recommend the 'rum runner' the sushi, and if you can't decide what to get, the Almond crusted walleye is a very good stand-bye.”

“Not a place for children. Can be a bit dead and quiet during the week which is nice, Saturday night trivia is funny. Don't go in this bar if you're afraid of drinking, or smoking, a church would be better for you! I love this place! I can't rave enough about the food, the service, the atmosphere, and all the patrons. Never any trouble, all the waitresses are friendly. The owner can be a bit stand offish until she gets to know you, but that's typical. We spend a good amount in this bar so we defiantly love it.”

“We eat at Robie's quite often since we moved to Attica. I highly recommend the Ribs. They are fantastic, smoked on site, tangy, juicy n tender! Stakes are awesome as well. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere comfortable & cozy. A pleasant surprise for a town the size of Attica. It would be perfect if it were smoke free.”

“Pizza Den is an excellent independently owned pizza place in Central Indiana. It's a small little restaurant in the middle of nowhere (unless you live on Heritage Lake) and has amazing food. My girlfriend and I eat there probably once a month or so and it only costs about $20. Their calzones are amazing and filling. The pizza is one of a kind and very inexpensive. Overall I would recommend Pizza Den to anyone who comes to the area or to anyone who lives in the area and has not been there before.”
