Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[9] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Food was very tasty and a good value for the money.
  • Several of the wait staff were stuck up Prima Donnas and should not be working with the public.

“Over the years we have eaten here many times. I would quantify this in the high double digits, also eaten at the hungry lion and the boat house when it was all owned by Luciano's.”

Tommys Restaurant & Pizza
Apr 9, 2009 by Ben from Lincoln

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[2] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food was quick.
  • Bad food, bad service.

“Poor quality of food, I ordered chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and received fatty chicken chunks floating in grease and instant mashed potatoes, all for about $15. My finance ordered the chicken Alfredo and was equally disappointed. Bad food and our waitress was obviously having a bad day and let us all know about it. I've driven past this place a hundred times without stopping, and wish I hadn't the other night.”

Triple A Diner
Mar 18, 2009 by David from Ellington

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The aquarium.
  • If I wanted to be picky, I'd say get some better napkins but, I really have to stretch for something negative.

“For the first time in many years I visited the Triple A, and my past negative impression was completely reversed. I had corned beef and cabbage on St Paddy's Day; large portions, nice salad with lots of bread good seven layer cake for dessert and pleasant professional service. Beside the usual meat, potato, carrots and cabbage there were peas, an unexpected surprise. The place was clean and very authentic diner atmosphere. Just remember it is a diner. If you're looking for gracious atmosphere, culinary originality or the attributes of a real restaurant you won't visit this type of place. But if you like good diner quality and quantity Triple A does the job beautifully. I'm looking forward to my next visit.”

Hunan Gourmet Restaurant
Mar 12, 2009 by Rick from Greenwich

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Extremely fast delivery.
  • A bit pricey but entries are large.

“Good Chinese fare. Typical decor, a bit dark inside, located within a small strip of businesses including a Starbucks. Whole foods, a variety store and a movie rental place. The best thing about restaurant is the delivery service. We joke that before we hang up the phone while placing our order, the delivery man is knocking at the door. It is the fastest delivery I have ever experienced and the food is always piping hot. Prices are a bit expensive but the entries are quite large and even after sharing, there are always leftovers.”

I used to live in Bridgeport, anyway when we make it to Bpt we always try to get to Drumstik so we can bring some chicken home - along with the awesome green coleslaw. Just everything is so good! Food:[3] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Seafood salad.
  • Rude wait-staff.

“The waiters and waitresses are very condescending and rude! There seems to be something in the air with their nasty demeanor. The food is a step up from a fast food Italian Restaurant, similar to the Olive garden. When you get the bill, you would have thought you broke a window. The atmosphere is like the Bada Bing club, only, without the dancers!”

Greenwoods Restaurant
Dec 31, 2008 by Kate from Bethel

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[1] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Atmosphere, service.
  • Food.

“I ordered the BLT salad with steak, and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten in my life. The menu stated that the salad was topped with apple-wood smoked bacon, which could not be further from the truth. The salad was topped with bacon that came straight from the microwave. The steak was not cooked to a medium temperature, as I had asked. It was more rare than anything. There was very little blue cheese, as well as dressing. I should have made a point and said something, but I did not want to cause trouble. I will just never return. Go to the Putnam House instead. You will not be disappointed with their famous honey hot wings, and anything else you chose from the menu.”

“Formally Greenwoods and now the Opera House - huge improvement and the food is amazing. The new owner has a wonderful appetizer/entree selection - further broken down into regions of the US. The prices are great and the food is excellent! There is also a bar menu that is awesome. Highly recommend to anyone whether on a date or watching a game in the bar - you will enjoy. In the summer they have live outdoor music on the weekends - perfect for an afternoon and a cold beverage.”

Armandos Family Restaurant
Dec 30, 2008 by Dawn from Bethel

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Bar area.
  • Food and service.

“Without getting into much detail - the only reason I rated atmosphere higher than the food and service is because the bar area was decent. Other than that the experience is not one that I would repeat and certainly never recommend. The entree arrived close to 2.5 hrs from the time we were seated, the staff was young/inexperienced, the food was terrible (ricotta was gritty a.k.a. frozen and was sent back) and the management was non existent.”

Stott Brothers Food Famous, Inc.
Dec 18, 2008 by Martha from Griswold

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The food.
  • It's all good.

“12-18-08 Our recent experiences with Stott Brothers Food Famous Restaurant were extremely satisfying offering sit down and warm up atmosphere to hearty delicious dining. A full menu selection allows customers family friendly choices in plentiful portions. Trying the Stott Burger (with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, roasted pepper and served with fries, coleslaw and a pickle) exemplified the quality and freshness of the ingredients and careful preparation. On a busy schedule, table, booth, or counter service was prompt, personal and courteous. In our quest for homemade fruit pie for one of our service people, Stott's offered an inviting display of embellished specialties for which they are famous, including traditional New England apple, crumb, and blueberry. "Where everyone feels at home" is their motto. Grand hot chocolate and take-out are available.”

The food we ordered was lovely, the prices were reasonable, wine list was great, and the fires were very romantic and charming. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will be coming back again.”

West Street Grill Inc
Nov 14, 2008 by Jim from Canton

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[6] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Room temperature was comfortable.
  • A good word for the complete experience of this restaurant.

“I tend to be skeptical when I see charges that a restaurant is snobby and the wait staff is rude, but I found I would have been better advised to have listened to other reviews I've seen. I met a friend there for lunch. The ambiance is reasonably pleasant and the conversation was engaging, but I eventually realized we'd been there for quite awhile and still hadn't been served. The waitress forgot to put in our order or to make sure the chef prepared it. Then, once we had finished our meal and continued our conversation, I began to notice that our waitress had not only removed our food dishes and bread dishes but also had whisked away our glasses of water! I glanced up towards the front of the restaurant and noticed several people were waiting for tables. Before someone came and bodily ejected us to make room for them, I ordered two more glasses of water to make our point. In other words, beware: this place is supposed to be where out of towners can come and spot the occasional celebrity (who presumably is not given the same rush when finished their meal), but unless you don't mind bad service, arrogant management (someone trains their staff to act this rudely), you're far better off giving this place a pass and dining at any one of several much more people-friendly restaurants right there on West Street.”

The Log Cabin
Nov 10, 2008 by Barbara from Enfield CT

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[7] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Nothing.
  • Poor service.

“We had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. It was not at all crowded. We were seated and promptly ignored. Our order was finally taken and then the waitress disappeared. When another server came to give us our salads, we stated that we felt very ignored. Our water glasses were empty, and we did not have enough bread plates. Other tables that we could observe, had GREAT service. I counted the waitress going to another table at least 7 times - and we had none. Our salads were eaten, water glasses empty, my husband's beer empty and there was no one. Our meals were plopped down in front of us, we again stated we had no service and the waitress disappeared. When our meal was gone and any leftovers completely cold a waitress came back. When she commented that my husband did not eat his broccoli and could have asked for something different, he said he would have, but no one came to check on our meals and that the service was terrible (and could we please have more water). She said and I quote - Sometimes we are busy and the service is bad, so that's the way it is. You can bet - We will give all of our future business to Lenny and Joe's!”

“It was ok. Food was good and service was awful. It took 30 minutes to get a drink delivered to my table. At least we went on a night that they had a good singer there. Steve Dagastino made the night enjoyable. At least while we waited 30 minutes for our drink and the main dish hit our table 90 minutes after we sat down! I will try it one more time because the food was good, but go on a night that Steve is playing. It will make it very enjoyable if you have to wait for your food.”

Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • I like everything.
  • The parking lot (especially in winter) but, I can live with that.

“One of the great "old style" East Coast eateries, casual elegance, great food, great service, consistent quality, pizza to die for (cheese and sausage). The best baked stuffed shrimp I have ever eaten, and every Italian dish is just that. real Italian! The beer is ice cold too! I live on the west coast now and when we visit CT, Bacco's is our first dinner "out" (sometimes two or three visits in a week.). I have been eating there since the 50's, first, N. Main St., then the rear of the Waterbury plaza, then Chase Avenue and finally, the present location on Thomaston Ave. oh yeah! I miss it a lot! I will be there in October. Sunday, Tuesday and Friday.!”

  • Music inconsistent, slow service at times, one confused waiter.

“My husband and I go here frequently because it is very convenient and it is good food. Very nice salad comes with meal, and food is good. The service is fair, though a few of the wait staff always seem very distracted (one well-meaning young man in particular). Service can be slow, and the music they play is inconsistent. It is sometimes just awful, and sometimes good. Good value, and the food enjoyable.”

Athenian Diner Iv
Jul 27, 2008 by AML from East Chicago, IN

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • All.

“My recommendation is not to go there. My wife and I went for dinner there on 07/17/08. The staff was inattentive. The food was mediocre and relatively expensive. There were flies over our heads. Thankfully, they did not land on us or on our food but I cringe to think there were able to go to the open food preparation areas. The milk chocolate I ordered came as a glass of regular milk with a glob of chocolate syrup on the bottom, not even stirred. The men's bathroom was dirty and needed repairs and upgrades. I have not been to Waterbury in years (used to live there for 12 years until 10 years ago). I thought that, with the demise of the former Betsy Ross Diner (where I once saw a roach coming from under my son's dish), things had improved. They haven't. Athenian Diner IV gives a bad reputation to Waterbury and to the other Athenian Diners in Connecticut.”

Kabuki Japanese Steak House
Jun 16, 2008 by LiAnna from San Diego, CA

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Nice looking place.
  • Bad sushi, over-charged sodas, takes too long to get order taken.

“I love sushi, but definitely not from this place. The sushi is mediocre, the wrapping is pitiful, the taste is worse, not fresh as it should be. I ordered three rolls, one of them is supposed to be the restaurant's special. What a disappointment! The service was okay, but I got charged for every re-filled so the total amount from my soda is more expensive than my girlfriends' cocktails. Wouldn't come back to this place!”

Russell's Ribs
Jun 2, 2008 by Amy from Old Saybrook

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[5] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • The view.
  • The staff.

“We went to Russell's after seeing a movie as a party of 10. We ordered drinks and appetizers with 2 entrees mixed in. Our drinks came back wrong 3 times (margaritas instead of Mojitos) and instead of being apologetic, the waitress gave us attitude and sent her manger over. When we tried to explain that the waitress was overwhelmed and just took the orders wrong (after I personally watched her write down the correct drinks) she interrupted and berated us, accusing us of lying about our drink orders. I have never been treated so poorly in my life, and this was by a manger! Our food was late; it took 45 minutes to get a glass of water. Now, we are not young, rude, drunk people. We are all professionals, have children and the median age is about mid-thirties. I urge you not to eat at Russell's! There are far better restaurants in the area with better food and views (not to mention staff!).”

  • Good food, fast service, convenient.
  • Mean people.

“I just moved to North Haven and conveniently down the street from Antonio's the food there is excellent! The price is good, for lunch I always get there chicken Marcela, its a perfect portion, they could wash their mushrooms a bit better every once in a while I crunch on the dirt, and their subs are great to, the only thing that I could say is not so good about them is the guys there, the cook and register guy, not sure who he is?”
