• Seals, sea lions, otters and seagulls all a plus - one Mother's Day a whale came cruising into the tiny harbor. Never know what you will see.
• Sometimes you have to wait to get in.

“Our favorite place for breakfast, great pancakes, try the blackberry pancakes and the blackberry syrup with a walk on the pier and time at the beach and tide pools afterwards. It's a funky little seaside cafe with plank siding and local paintings, and I hope they never improve it, it is perfect just the way it is. A sacred place, always a hit with visitors. Great for lunch, too.”

“This is a dive bar that just happens to have 3 stories. Terrible bar. The music is too loud, the DJ curses constantly. I'm Sure there are better bars the more you go east. If you want to get in a fight though I would recommend you come here. The staff try to find a reason to fight almost every night of the week.”

“It has the greatest ribs, prime rib, [usualy large portion], pork chops [4], and one of the best country fried steaks ever. There is usually enough to take home in the dogie bag. But my dogie never gets it. Sorry. I have taken all my relatives and friends there. One friend called me afterworlds and said thanks you so much for taking me there. It was the best ever. If you want to impress someone, take them there. The cost won't break you. It's reasonable by today's standards.”

“I have been going there since I was single and was looking for the best party bar in town and that was McNears. Now I go with my friends to have a nice dinner with great service and see a show at the Mystic or to watch a game and now they just added 7 or 8 more TV's so while it is in no way a quite place for a romantic date it is great for lunch or dinner. It is also the number one place. My kids go for their team dinners so they can play games and the parents can relax and chat. Great food and service and it just keeps getting better.”

• Excellent location. It does not get better than this.
• I did not like the bright yellow and blue stripes on the walls.

“Sir Francis Drake is a very upscale and prestigious hotel. I've always noticed it with their valet standing out front dressed in attire that appears straight from the medieval era. The hotel lobby is very luxurious and spacious. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar in the middle of the lobby is trendy and a fun place to have a drink. Be sure to check out the Starlight Room at the top of the hotel for a few fun drinks and impressive views.”

• Food is excellent! Good staff attitude.
• Bathroom needs to be spotless. No loitering guests. Security guard is needed and create a more romantic ambiance!

“This is a good place to eat, excellent food if you are on the go or if you would like to have a good hot meal. The Cooks are excellent and friendly. The cashiers are also friendly! When you order your food, you must pick your food up at another window! You have to get your own tray of food! I think they should bring the food to your table if they want a decent tip or actually, a tip at all! The food at A & T's is clean, safe & hearty! The food is really excellent! And the restaurant staff attitude is good! The bathroom can be a little taxing on the nerves; their bathroom needs to be consistently spotless, cleaned, and maintained! And, the place needs to make a more romantic feel for couples and to even hire a security guard to keep out those who are not even patronizing their establishment! No loitering! Don't let people hang out in their restaurant who are not real customers!”

“What a wonderful dining experience! Being a Southern California resident most my entire life, I have had plenty of Mexican food and can honestly highly recommend this restaurant! I had the Carne Asada Burritos and asked for specific changes to the menu and the service was splendid in getting my complicated order to the high quality cooks in the kitchen. The service was very attentive, friendly and genuine. My waitress was awesome! I have never been disappointed coming here multiple times. During Mexico's National games the energy is electric! Great place for a good meal, service and management.”

“They are family friendly and I can't say how many times I have seen them support the members at our fair. Jocko's is always packed and sometimes the wait is long but it is worth the wait. I've waited in line for longer to go to a place with less quality food. The food is great and they give you a lot of it. It's on the higher side but compared to AJ Spurs it is the same. Jocko's bar is also a favorite. Bar tenders are friendly and its in a fun atmosphere.”

“If you are thinking of going here, don't waste your time. I read the reviews didn't take the advice and went and it is not even close to being on par with their prices. The night starter with a sampler platter consisting of calamari, skirt steak, and garlic break. The calamari had a breaded crest and texture that was very similar to those in a microwave dinner package, the skirt steak all be it no surprise was chewy, but marinated in a semi sweet and bitter teriyaki sauce, and lastly the garlic bread was so dry and brittle it reminded me of bread cooked over an open fire while camping. Dinner for myself was a 12oz New York cooked medium, which was more medium well to well done, that had no flavor. The steak was too tough for a steak house and had more of a back yard BBQ gone wrong feel. A true steak house should be buying their meat directly from a butcher, or slaughter house but this meat could have very easily come from safe way or dare I say cost co. My girlfriend had a fillet which she said wasn't cooked right as well, and didn't have that melt in your mouth texture we'd all expect. Each of our plates was 30.95, and no where near worth it. The sampler came out to 14.95. All said and done it was a 100 dollar night with no real satisfaction. I will say that the service was very pleasant and attentive to whatever we needed even though there only seemed to be 4 people actually working.”

“To be fair, Tofanelli's has supposedly changed hands and has new owners but I am skeptical of this in this town where new owners mean only the manager changes. This restaurant has the distinction of being the absolute worst restaurant experience of my entire life, and I am age 60, have eaten in restaurants around the world and in other restaurants in our area. It was by far the most insulting. My party of four - me, wife, my sister and mother walked out after being treated like dirt, ignored, insulted by a surly waitress and never receiving even a glass of water after 30 minutes. The owners, wait staff and cooks were all in some kind of major fight, and when we finally all got up and left, the cooks all hooted and laughed! We did nothing to deserve this. So I have no idea what the food is like, or who the new owner is or anything else. I will never set foot in this place again! I suggest you do not do so either, new management or not. I wrote to this place and they never responded in any way or offered the slightest apology or explanation. I hope they go out of business!”

• The restaurant was delightful and the food was excellent. The waiter was experienced and excellent as was the service.
• The second level of service needs better training.

“Our recent experience was the hostess and bus boy: the two issues that bothered us were: 1. the bus boy attempted to clear my salad plate too soon after I finished and my wife was still eating. 2. the hostess asked my wife if she needed a box for her left overs soon after we were served and I had just started eating.”

“The pizza is edible, but definitely nothing special. Food safety is questionable (hand washing, cleaning of food preparation areas, salad bar area, etc.) The staff is unbelievably rude and slow. This is however, a good place together to watch sports with your buddies, as long as you don't expect your drinks before halftime.”

“I took my family to the Burger King located at 1681 W. San Bernardino Road in Covina, CA 91722 for dinner and all five of us were equally disgusted at the poor service, unkempt dining area, no ice in the dispensing machine, flat drinks (Coke, raspberry ice tea, Sprite, Nestea), and the general lack of professionalism in running a business. Informed that there isn't ice in the dispenser, we were told that they were understaffed that night! Told that the drinks were flat, the BK employee was absolutely unperturbed about it! The experience left the family resolute in not going to another Burger King restaurant ever again! No wonder it's so seriously lagging behind McDonald's and other reputable fast-food chains!”

“This is a cute little place on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. The food is good and they have a good wine list. The prices are reasonable and usually there isn't a really long wait. The pastas are great and the soup, which they make, is really good. Nice, fresh warm bread, too.”

“We have been to Shige Sushi three times since they opened. The first two times, service was slow. Tonight we sat for an hour and a half and were served only soup, our sushi side order, and a couple of muttered apologies. We finally walked out. The older waitress appears to call the shots and from many reviews on other sites, if she takes a dislike to you, you may as well leave. I have no idea what she found wrong with us on this return visit, but we won't be back to find out. Expensive for a sushi/Japanese place as well, with the same ticky-tacky ambiance as much cheaper places. Don't bother.”

“Most incompetent group. First, they brought the order wrong. Then, when it was sent back, the cook barely scraped the cheese off, threw it on a bun and sent it back(ten minutes later). When I sent it back and asked just to be charged for a salad, the supervisor told me I'd have to pay more and refused to correct (ran off to call her boss instead of fixing it). Then, to make it worse, the office made no attempt to investigate it - I guess robbing of customers is acceptable to them. Avoid these people at all costs! Its easy to see why the restaurant is half empty on a Saturday night.”

• Very personable service, my first time but I felt at home.
• Most of the surrounding area is under renovation, not a whole lot, else in walking distance.

“This was the worst Italian Restaurant I have ever been to. The Martini's were overpriced and watered down. The bread was bland. The Cesar salad very cheap. The Parmesan cheese was bought from pre-graded store. The main course was one of their specialties Gratzi's Saute. Overcooked pasta, 2 leathery prawns and a bite full of sand from one of the two scallops. Salmon was bland. Thank goodness for the lemon wedge that saved it from the trash. And the entree was $25.00! $20.00 for one bottle of screw top Cab. I will never go to this restaurant again. Very disappointed.”

I only wish we had been seated farther from the front, because my five year old picked up some new words from an employee arguing with someone on the phone at the front, within earshot. My two year old daughter crawled under the table, and came up with a roach in her hand. I almost passed out. We paid for the drinks, and left, we didn't order any food, I wouldn't have been able to eat it after that.”

“Horrible food, poorly advertised. Ordered biscuits and gravy and Chicken Club Sandwich, got stale Cornbread and Gravy, and a very disgusting Chicken Club Sandwich that looked nothing like the picture, and two coffees to go for breakfast. We only got half the sandwich, the chicken was borderline frozen, and the bread was hard and stale and hard to swallow, and the fries were soggy. And there were coffee grinds in the coffee. Good food, overall, if you want to waste your money and throw-up plenty. Felt weak and sick for the rest of the day till we went to the hospital.”
