“The place is very nice but you have to be very careful with your money. We enjoyed our coffee there but when we paid we didn't get the change. (5) We thought that it had been a mistake but when we asked and we saw the waitress reaction we realized that she just wanted our money. We had never imagined that something like that could happen in such a beautiful and nice place. So if you go there, mind your change and don't trust the waitress!”

“I would like to say cocktail bar was a happening experience but everything else was cool.”

“My brother and I stopped here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The waitress was very friendly and the food was good. We recommend it!”

“This restaurant was listed in a booklet found in the hotel lobby. The food was very tasty, although the range was somewhat limited. Don't expect too much flexibility, or a smile. Service was swift and the quality of the meal was good. You may feel a little frustrated if you ask for an explanation of what a dish is if you don't recognize it. If you are really into your curries, you can eat safely and it won't leave you broke. We had chicken Bangalore (which is Madras) - rice was included. Popp dums have coming in them and naan is plain, peshwari etc not available. Would I return if in Hamburg? Probably.”

“We went to chunky restaurant on valentines day. This might have been our first mistake. The restaurant was packed but we had made an advance reservation and were readily seated after arrival. We got there at 8:30pm, ordered something that we thought was relatively simple and didn¿t leave until 3 hours later. They had only two servers available on one of the busiest nights of the year. We had to provide our order twice to the different servers and once more to the original server to confirm what we had ordered. When our food finally came, 90 minutes after we arrived, it was snatched away from our table and we were told it was the wrong delivery. 20 minutes later we did get our food with extreme apologizes from the host for the delay. We considered having desert and we even ordered something off the menu but we were brought tea instead. Since it was already 11:30pm, we gave up and left. The service was completely pathetic! The food was fine but we didn¿t enjoy it given our experience with the service. Watch out for those busy nights, hopefully it is better during the non-busy nights but I do not think we want to find out.”

“Thanapon is a Thai restaurant that offers many common Thai dishes at a reasonable price and the ambient is cozy and even a bargain at lunches (take-away possible). The food is delicious and the service is quick and helpful. The location is not in the Al-Sadat, but many Heidelbergians like to go there for a good Thai. I like it best from the five Thai restaurants in Heidelberg.”

“Visiting the Brauerei Schumacher was a wonderful experience and a fantastic opportunity to sample the fine alt (beer) brewed on the premises. The service was excellent, as soon as you sat down a beer was placed in front of you and replaced once the glass was empty without hesitance. This should be one of the top venues to visit when taking a trip to Düsseldorf ”

“My first impression was that of a cozy restaurant with a mouth-watering and reasonable priced menu. However, once inside one quickly discovers that cozy is not exactly the right word. This was due to the high noise level caused by several happy groups. The food served was ok although nothing to ponder about afterwards. The bottle of wine selected was of good quality level but not in relation to its extraordinary price. For a restaurant recommended especially for its wine selection the guidance provided by the sommelier of the day was lousy. The service could also be more friendly, professional and less oblivious. In total, although the atmosphere was friendly and the food ok, I cannot really recommend a visit to this restaurant. ”

“Menu has a great choice of dishes, some of which are excellent. Some curries and masalas are slightly adapted to European taste (a bit sweeter and creamier) but with intelligence. I recommend the paneer.”

“Excellent atmosphere. I took my lad to Berlin for his 18th and the whole idea of an Aussie restraint run by Germans, in Berlin appealed to us on a few levels. We weren't disappointed and were so pleased we made the effort to find it. A superb venue and quirky atmosphere, mixed grill was memorable. Will definitely go again.”

“Don't let the fact that the inside looks like "Julie's Pantry" of UK motorway service station fame put you off. The food is what you come here for (that and fast (but not rushed), friendly service). Anyone who enjoys good English food like hot pot, roast dinner or fish and chips, but wishes that English eateries would take more care over preparation and quality of ingredients, will love what they serve here. Good hearty food, made with love. I had a stuffed beef wrap rich gravy, spicy braised red cabbage and lovely fried potatoes. My mate had a roasted pork knuckle with rich pork gravy. No room for after! Saw a local demolishing an impossibly large portion of Eisbein (boiled pickled pig's knuckle served with sauerkraut, peace pudding and boiled potato) which looked utterly delicious. It will be my first port of call next time I'm in Berlin.”

“Greek food as served in Greece. If you will be in Frankfurt/Main for a while, try an evening of only Appetizers. Owner is very friendly, especially with repeat customers. Definitely not a moussakka/gyro joint. Ask for help if you are unfamiliar with Greek wines. The pairings are consistently excellent. 4 stools at the bar and 10 to 12 tables. Most rewarding dishes are the ones you have never heard of before. Will explain ingredients in great English.”

“A very fine restaurant, very old but still young at spirit. The service is very good. The food is better than other restaurant in the area. It's good for business lunch, tourist lunch or asking a girl to marry you. Remember to ask the way to stop them for bringing beer to you!”

“Its easily the best sushi restaurant in Europe. But don't go there for a romantic dinner, it might as well scare you off and don't go there without a bit of Japanese knowledge, otherwise you will end up lost.”

“If you enjoy Indian food (as I do) then Chanakya is the place to go. It is based in a very classy shopping mall on KAnigsallee, which is one of the most posh shopping boulevards in Europe. Do not carry an empty wallet, as this restaurant is of the higher price range, but pertaining to value for money it is definitely worth every cent! Best Indian food I have tasted since I live in Germany, lovely decoration, great service. If you are around, drop by!”

“Unbelievable cocktails, I told the owner " Roger" from a cocktail I drunk last in New York, but I only remember the taste and the color and after a few minutes I got my cocktail, we drink a lot this evening, and he offers cocktails with beer, wine, vegetables and everything, I travel a many around this world but this fabulous man is the best cocktail mixer for me in the world. Also his Mexican food from normal until 18 million scoville
