“Best Indian restaurant in Downtown Toronto. Food is just awesome, specially the Tandoor appetizers. Each dish tastes different compared to the usual Indian restaurants where the same gravy is used for all entrees. And priced right and light on your wallet. Must visit!”

“We were a little after the normal lunch crowd, or at least, the place was maybe 40% full no waiting to sit and choice of multiple tables. We chose to sit outside, and proceeded to wait 15 minutes for our server to arrive. The server took our drinks order, and vanished before taking our lunch order. Another 10 minutes passed before our drinks arrives, and then we waited another 5 minutes before we could place our order. A cheeseburger for the wife, chicken wrap for me.45 minutes later, we finally get food that is cold, obviously reheated and then stuck under a heat lamp (the bottom of my wrap is burnt brown. My wife's burger is like a hockey-puck). Both our drinks are long gone haven't seen our server to be able to order another round. We asked to speak to a manager, but none could find one, although two of them were wandering around trying to ignore the customers. We waited another 10 minutes for the bill to be processed (no discounts or apologies) Cold Cheese burger.”

“I went to Mars diner on family day and the food was the worst I have ever had. I ordered the pancakes and I could not even cut them with my fork and knife. My one brother had eggs which he said were okay and my other brother had eggs and bacon and was food poisoned because the bacon was not cooked well. The staff was not very clean and the diner needs an upgrade. I did though like their chocolate milk which was made with a milk machine of some sort, chocolate syrup and a blender. It is a good spot to stop in for a milkshake or chocolate milk but not a good place to stop for food.”

“We were walking up Younge Street on our way to see We Will Rock you at the Panasonic Theater and stopped in at this pub. An old Pubaholic, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The wing was decent, they were a little dry but it is my experience that one should ask for saucy wings when ordering at any pub. Had a good time and would go back again next time we are in town.”

“Slow service and workers aren't very polite. Good food, but poor service.”

“The food was excellent, and it was equaled by the warm and inviting atmosphere and the friendly and efficient staff. I recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to the Downtown Toronto area.”

“A great casual environment feels like home! Our server was efficient (we were in a hurry) and pleasant. We had lunch. I had the Tilapia and my companion had a burger. Everything was great. We were out in time.”

“We just had dinner at Pier 4 and it was one of the worst dining experiences that I've ever had in Toronto. We were seated on the patio facing the water, which was a nice view, but the service was horrible. After being seated, we waited for someone to come over and greet us. There were lots of waiters running around but no one took care of us. So we flagged a bus boy and convinced him to bring us water and take our drink orders. I asked for lemon in the water but got none. Although I ordered a soft drink, the bus boy asked if I wanted anything alcoholic to drink even though I'm obviously pregnant. The drinks took a long time to come out and no waiter came to take our order. We notified the host that we had no waiter but still no one helped us. So we ordered the posted lobster special from the bus boy.Throughout the meal we had to ask for each course to be delivered multiple times (e.g. could we please have a bread basket?. And some butter?. Could we please have our salads?.) Half way through our main entry a rude waiter showed up and asked if we needed anything. We asked for condiments (ketchup and butter), which arrived after a while. The waiter also rudely chastised the bus boy right in front of us.The food was so-so. $39 plus tip for the lobster. Not great but not the worst. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while and there was no toilet paper in most of the stalls.Save your money and go elsewhere. The regular entrees are $25 and up but they are not worth the price. Take a nice walk down by the Harbourfront but don't eat here. Visitors to Toronto please note that this restaurant is not typical of other Toronto restaurants. Overall, you can expect much more polite, prompt, and organized service in Toronto. This restaurant is a poor reflection of Toronto.”

“We had a great time! They have two large patios -- unfortunately it's not the season, but even the views from inside are great. There were six of us, we all had something different and everyone was pleased with their meal. I had the lobster crab dip -- it's great. You must try the Boathouse when in Toronto.”

“Great night club. Expensive food and drink. Get there early as gets really crowded. Small dance floor great for parties. Great atmosphere and Latin music. A must if you like salsa dancing or just visiting Toronto. Classiest Latin club in the city.”

“This is one of the most interesting restaurants I have eaten in. It is a feast for the eyes and for the tummy! Delicious food (the oysters Rockefeller are to die for!) And fabulous atmosphere set right on the Toronto harbor. The view is incredible. This is one of the only restaurants that I have been in that has a "crossover" appeal. It has an upscale menu that is appealing though the business traveler with areas that can accommodate larger gatherings. As well, there are cozy little nooks that create a romantic atmosphere for private dinners and at the same time it is family friendly! Wherever you look there is a conversation piece. The place is a treasure chest of Manrine Paraphernalia. The food is excellent and the service stellar. I will definitely be back!”

“This restaurant has been recently renovated and the menu has been probably revamped, as I've read in previous reviews that they had Cajun food also, but they had only Italian. Good choice. It would be confusing. The restaurant looks nice with brick walls and modern look, but bringing some Italian elements to the decoration. The only thing I didn't like was the shutters closed, when it was a beautiful sunny day, outside: for some reason people think darker restaurants are good, but you find amazing sophisticated restaurants around the World with plenty of light, and they have a pleasant ambiance. The menu offers plain Vanilla Italian food, but well cooked and smaller portions served. I've tried their specialty veal and it was very good. The service was good; the food was hot and came in reasonable timing. No complaints, at all. A restaurant which tries to serve quality, cannot serve fountain pop. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a good place for a decent business lunch.”

“My daughter and I enjoyed dinner at pier 4 recently. We had a few appetizers; each seafood bisque for me and calamari for her. Both were yummy! We had very generous portions, loved the bread basket, and followed up with salads delicious! We finished off with a cherry cheesecake very nice. Our waiter was wonderful, and the shiraz was excellent. We are going back to celebrate the 18th anniversary of my 39th birthday on Nov 9th, 2007, with some family can't wait! It might be the highlight of my birthday weekend.”

“We had a great stay at this hotel. Very huge and very nice. They had a friendly staff - greeted right away when we arrived at the front door. We were upgraded at no cost to a suite and it was so nice to have the extra room with our kids since we were staying for 3 nights. It was a quick ride to Disneyland. Only bad thing was parking for $11 a day but most all Hiltons do that I guess. We got a great rate. It would be nice if Hilton had queen beds in a room especially for families. Double beds just are too small in my opinion for 2 people to share. Other than that - it was a great stay for us!”

“This is the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in, anywhere in the world. Absolutely foul, in every respect. Very rude staff. Dirty. Stinking awful food, for which we waited much too long. Horrible, horrible staff - All of them. The place made me embarrassed to be a Canadian.”

“Chef Hiro Yoshida prepares his food with the traditional touch of fresh ingredients that make your mouth dance but his attitude could use a slice of his knife. To explain we were out for an earlier dinner prior to going to the theatre and did not make plans for dinner. We were walking around before the Play and came across Hiro Restaurant. We've both read reviews and heard from friends about the restaurant. Nothing but good reviews! My wife and I asked if there is a table available for two. The hostess looked at Hiro he dropped his eyes and went back to his preparing of food. She replied to us the restaurant is full all tables are booked. Even though out of eight tables and good size bar area only one couple was there. We thank her and turn away while explaining we wish we did book because we heard of the place; however we were just in the area and would at least ask. Hiro gets her attention and says something in Japanese. Next thing we know she is sitting us down. We are pleasantly pleased and thank them. We love the food its was amazing! Its just too bad we were told the place was full and yet the entire time we were their (1 1/2hr) no one other than the first table that was there before us and one other couple came later. It made me think that was odd. My wife and I are always well dressed when we are going to the theater for the night. Its not like we had our jeans on or something, we are well spoken and respect understanding people. I must say its too bad them memory I am left with is this rather then the experience of the cuisine.”

“We started off with a friendly greeting from the hostess. We sat at the bar and had a drink before having dinner. The bartender was very nice, fast and friendly, I think his name was Terry. Then we headed off to the dining room. Wow is this place big. There is a Great White Shark hanging in the main dining room it must have been 18 feet long! The decor was amazing so much to see. We were seated at a window seat for two overlooking the harbor; I think it was the best seat in Toronto personally. The gentleman that seated us informed us that Carlos would be our waiter and that he would take great care of us. Carlos did in fact take wonderful care of us his knowledge on wine was fantastic and the suggestion to have the deep sea platter for two was right on the money. The best Oysters Rockefeller I've had, giant Shrimp, King Crab legs and a fresh steamed Lobster. Wow again! The cheesecake was very tasty. We have found our special place at Pier 4. All I can say is enjoy!”

“Great location, and nice ambiance in the restaurant. A pleasure to sit on the patio at lunch time, but at night, service was absolutely horrible. It's great if you just want to sit with a beer and chat for hours, but if you want a real meal, go elsewhere - there are many other restaurants around York vile that offer much better service. I remember walking into the restaurant at night... and waited for minutes before anyone even noticed that we were standing there. There was one waitress that was busy on the phone chatting about her last night's adventures instead of being a hostess.”

“This is one of the worst pubs in the world. The food was so bad we couldn't believe it. We stood and waited to get a seat for 15mins, seeing all these business people looking quite smart. "Must be a nice place to attract all these smart people" we thought. We couldn't have been more wrong.

“HAVING WORKED ALONG SIDE THE FOUNDER OF SHOPSY'S, MR SHOPSOWITZ AND HIS SONS, SAM, IZZIE AND DAVID BEFORE AND DURING THE 2ND WORLD WAR AT THEIR STORE ON SPADINA AVE., I VIVIDLY RECALL THE QUALITY AND PORTIONS DELIVERED FOR THE PRICES CHARGED. IN THE NEW SHOPSY'S, OPENED AT 7240 WOODBINE AVE., IN MARKHAM, ONTARIO, I FOUND THE SERVICE TO BE VERY GOOD, ROOM TO BE STERILE,. THE MANAGAER TRIED TO IMPRESS ME BY POINTING OUT THAT THE FOOD WAS NEARLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL STORE ON SPADINA AVE. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! WHEN YOU WALKED INTO THE STORE, THERE WAS NO DELECATESSEN ODOUR IN THE ROOM TO WET ONE'S APPETITE. THE ORIGINAL STORE'S ODOUR REACHED OUT ONTO THE STREET!THE DIAMETER OF THE SANDWICH BREAD WAS ABOUT 4 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND HELD ABOUT 3 AND 1/2 ONCES OF BLAND TASTING, ALMOST DRY, CORN BEAF MEAT. THE ORIGINAL JUICY CORN BEAF WAS FRESH COOKED ON SITE EVERY DAY AND CAME RIGHT OUT OF THE VAT TO THE CUTTING TABLE IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. THE PORTIONS OF MEAT WERE ABOUT FIVE TO SIX ONCES AND FILLING.THE POTATO PANCAKE WAS HARD AND TASTELESS. THE PRESENTATION WAS CROWDED.ON THE POSITIVE SIDE, THE SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD.”

“Our first visit to Toronto. Shopsy's was recommeded by hotel personel. BAD experience. The rim of the water glass was smeared with LIPSTICK. I just pushed it aside. We should have gotten up and walked out but we had already placed an order. The pancakes were heavy. We only ate a few bites. We have a very bad impression of Shopsy's on Yonge St. Too bad this happened on our only day in Toronto.”
