Breezes Bahamas
Nov 12, 2008 by Steve from Hollywood Ca.

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[7] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food was plentiful and decent- nice staff.
  • Filthy run-down- third world country feel with peeling paint, broken fixtures, sparsely furnished rooms.

“Visited in November 2008 - This resort needs serious renovation! The resort is terrible disrepair and even though we stayed in one of the recently remodeled ocean front rooms, it looks as if they ran out of money after doing the bathrooms - the effort is there - but the results are truly two star- Its a fraternity house, better suited for spring breakers who care less about quality of rooms and amenities than they do about free food and drinking! This establishment serves a lower income class group- and should be avoided by couples seeking a romantic getaway or those seeking an upscale, clean environment.”

Graycliff Restaurant
Oct 24, 2008 by Jim

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[7] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Incredible garden paradise.
  • Costly.

“The people from Florida who brought a large party including unruly grandchildren should be shot. This is a romantic destination restaurant. When I dined there the first time years ago the comedian Dick Gregory was at the nearby table.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Sep 9, 2008 by Kymika from Chicago, IL

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[9] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Free internet. We went when Hurricane loke was near and they took great care of us and kept us informed.
  • The hidden service fee of $30 per couple per night.

“Overall, the hotel was great. Live music. Friendly staff. Otherwise, great for romantic couple get-away. Beautiful balcony views and a comfy bed. The room was comfortable and modern. Internet is free. Starbucks coffee and tea in the room is a plus. Free in-room safe was nice. Phone wasn't cordless and was across the room so you have to get up to use the phone.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Aug 28, 2008 by Venetta from Highland, IN

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • The modern decor.
  • The location.

“Be aware of the resort fees. $15 per person per day, and a one time bellman fee of $5.40 per person. The drinks are expensive $9 at the bars, and the restaurant food is expensive. However, the rooms are comfy and you definitely feel safe. The grounds are wonderful.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Aug 19, 2008 by James from Moorhead, MN

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • The Sheraton is newly remodeled. But it still shows its age in some areas. The complementary beach activities were great!
  • The staff was not always friendly. They charged a daily resort fee without informing me. Our room did not get cleaned one day.

“Overall, the hotel was nice. It has a great beach and the resort offers complementary beach activities like snorkeling gear, water bikes, floats, and ocean kayaks. It has 3 very nice swimming pools and well landscaped. They had an activity almost every evening. (movie by the pool, popcorn, etc). The major problem was that the hotel is five miles away from downtown and does not offer a shuttle. So you are relegated to taking a $20 taxi (one-way) or riding the bus to get to the downtown area. The bus only costs 1 dollar but is only operational until 6pm. So, for a family of four to go out to eat dinner at a restaurant downtown it would cost $4 to get downtown and $20 for a taxi back. Not to mention everything in the Bahamas is at least twice as expensive as it is in the States. A typical meal cost around $25 a person. The other problem is that everyone expects a tip. I had to carry $20 in ones at all times just to be able to make it out of the door. Travel to Paradise island was also expensive. A taxi would cost $50 (roundtrip). Public transportation (bus, walk four blocks, ferry, walk several blocks to Atlantis) cost $32 roundtrip. We did not enjoy our trip to the Bahamas mainly because it was so expensive to do anything there. Air conditioned shuttles would have been extremely helpful.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Aug 5, 2008 by Mary from Sandhurst, BC CA

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Newly renovated so clean and beds comfortable.
  • No fridge in room. Towels in pool only 1 per person and closes at 6. Not aware of resort fees and concierge fees added to bill.

“Overall a good experience. However would have liked hotel staff to be more forthcoming with information about hotel facilities etc as we only found out about use of facilities at Wyndham through one of the Royal Holiday sales reps.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Jul 22, 2008 by Carease from New Britain, CT

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[3] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Nothing.
  • Two out of 3 elevators were broken, my room floor was sticky, the bathroom walls were peeling, dirty and the room smelled like an old attic.

“I checked out after one night and was given a difficult time by hotel staff. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Jul 21, 2008 by Gekethea from Dallas, TX

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • It looked very nice, relaxing atmosphere yet fun place.
  • The gratuity fee, service resort fee (maid, pool workers, beach workers).

“The over all atmosphere is very nice. The people are not over friendly like Texas people are use to. I just figured it was part of their custom. If someone has never been to the Bahamas this hotel is in a great location and very nice. I would love to take my kids back to this same hotel in the near future. Just know that you will have to pay a resort fee (for the maid, pool workers and beach worker). You also have to pay for the bellmen. The workers are all working off of tips. It will be added on your bill at every restaurant in the country.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Jul 14, 2008 by Robert from Dallas, TX

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • NA.
  • There were fees for resort, bell service, gratuities for everyone and everything, yet they all expected more at the time of service as well.

“Wonderful location, easy access to the airport, staff was very friendly but with hands out for additional tips that were eventually added to my bill anyway. Beach very beautiful, staff attentive, restaurant food was lousy at best and we ate all meals away from resort. Outdoor service was extremely poor and we are accustom to putting ourselves on island time and relaxing. Overall nice and we will go back.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
Jun 29, 2008 by Tim from Dacula, GA

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[8] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The location was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Nassau.
  • Not informing when checking in of the additional resort fees.

“Food and drink was way too overpriced, even when compared to Europe. We wound up eating breakfast at McDonald's daily since the hotel cafes offered the same thing for 5 times the price of McDonalds.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[8] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Renovations, upkeep, friendly staff.
  • Add on fees, front desk slow.

“We thought that the rooms were very well decorated, as the remainder of the hotel was too. We were frustrated by all the add-on fees. We were not informed of the fees until check-in.”

Sheraton Cable Beach Resort
May 13, 2008 by Tania from Montreal, QC CA

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[9] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Beautiful architecture.
  • No spa, internet access, pool bar closed at 9pm, no life, no help from employees, toasted my own 9$ bagel!

“Although this hotel is grand in it's architecture and it's remodeled rooms, this hotel is far from Downtown Nassau, far from Paradise island and very remote! Employees failed to mention that there were other restaurants in the hotel connected to the Sheraton (under the same umbrella) and that was extremely disappointing considering the food was much better at the connecting hotel (where also a casino lies) and also a lot less expensive and in much less of a cafeteria style ambiance! If you are a business traveler for two days! Fine hotel If you are staying for a leisure vacation not the place to be!”

Graycliff Restaurant
Jul 24, 2007 by The Bailey Family from Tampa, Florida

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Nothing.
  • Everything, particularly the snobbiness and long, long wait for our food.

“A horrible dining experience. Food was terribly overpriced for the quality! The whole experience took over 3 hours and the staff was snobby and unfriendly to our grandchildren when they became restless while waiting this long for dinner! The restaurant had a couple of AC units mounted on the wall but kept a window cracked open and mosquitoes dined on my ankles while I tried to dine. It was surely not worth the $1100 (yes that's 1100 as in one thousand and one hundred dollars) we spent for a meal for 6 adults and 3 children. Our advice, run, don't walk away from this restaurant.”

Graycliff Restaurant
Mar 4, 2007 by Joseph

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Nothing. Absolutely nothing. An expensive nightmare.
  • Only three bad things: food, service, ambience.

“Dollar for dollar, the worst-prepared, worst-presented food Iżve ever had. Can you imagine tough filet mignon? In a sauce composed of brown epoxy? Served by sneering, incompetent waiters who might, if you're lucky, pass by your table once every twenty minutes, and then only to pour some more of the hideously over-priced, 10 degree too warm plonk so that they can get you to order another? Run; don't walk, away from this worst of all tourist traps.”

Graycliff Restaurant
Aug 27, 2006 by jen from kansas city

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[7] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The wine list.
  • Expensive.

“I have been to Gray cliff on 2 occasions and would recommend it to anyone. The food is very good, the atmosphere is excellent, the service is second to none. Their wine list includes the most expensive bottle of wine available for sale in the world (I think it is 250,000) and more wines than you can imagine. The restaurant is expensive-we spent 800$ for a dinner for 4 on our last visit and 500$ for dinner for 2 on our first restaurant. Reservations are required, as are long pants for gentleman. Try one of their house champagne cocktails-they are outstanding-but stop at 1 as they are 25$ each.”
