Casa Bella
Apr 6, 2009 by Rebecca from Manchester

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Nothing apart from leaving.
  • Terrible food, awful staff, noise from club below.

“We had the unfortunate experience of eating at this restaurant this weekend, and it is certainly not an experience we will be repeating. We needed somewhere to eat after the Grand National, and since there was 9 of us we were looking for somewhere simple, and good value. For this sort of food we usually go to Casa Italia which offers good quality, reasonably priced Italian food, but could not get a table and so headed into Casa Bella on Spec. What a mistake. We were greeted and told that we would only have to wait ten minutes. 35 minutes later we were seated, with no apology. We ordered our food from the menu, which made the food sound delicious. The starters arrived, and since we had only ordered olives, garlic bread and calamari, there was not much which could go wrong. Then, our mains arrived. Out of 9 of us, nobody was satisfied. I had ordered king prawn and monkfish skewers which arrived with no marinade, no side orders and no taste. On top of this, we paid £16.95 for the pleasure! Another member of our part ordered a chicken dish, which arrived greasy and overcooked and was served with a plate of microwaved vegetables. Even my boyfriend and his friend who ordered filled pasta and pizza respectively, were very disappointed. The pasta was stodgy and the pizza was dry. After we had eaten what we could of the terrible food, the bill arrived. They had the cheek to add a 10% gratuity on top of the already ridiculous prices for what we had received. I decided that I just had to say something to the restaurant manager, not to try and get money off the bill, but because I like to receive feedback in my line of work and thought that they may appreciate hearing the truth about the substandard food that they were producing. The staff was most unhelpful and the responses I received seemed almost rehearsed. They told me that over the weekend they had had over 600 diners and not received one complaint ( something I doubt) and when I questioned the prices, the manager started to tell me that it was because he had bills (rent, electricity and gas) to pay! Clearly as a customer this is not my concern! This restaurant left a terrible taste in my mouth, not only for the awful food but for the rude and blind sighted attitudes of the staff- avoid at all costs!”

Casa Bella
Dec 15, 2008 by Tim from Warrington

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Nice building.
  • The whole experience from start to finish.

“The only good thing about this restaurant is the building it is set in. The service is diabolical and the food is mediocre. One of the worst meals I have had for a long time and would never go back here.”

Pump House
Aug 29, 2008 by margaret from liverpool

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[3] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Dinks and glasses cold. Toilets clean.
  • You should be much more aware of comments and rectify this.

“Sad to say very poor service, long wait for food, no communication and a male member of staff with attitude leaves a poor opinion of you. Could not recommend.”

Pump House
Feb 19, 2008 by Jane from Cheshire

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[2] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Location.
  • The whole experience.

“Quite busy. Numerous items on menu not available. When food did arrive some 50 minutes later, food was unimaginative and less than average. Part of the pub (top area) was sealed off so that customers could not access seating, many people came in and left the premises. Tables dirty, seemed to be insufficient staff who were trying hard but not competent to deal with the business. Quite sad really. This establishment is in a great location on The Albert Dock area but is a long way from realizing its sales potential. I would not revisit this pub. This establishment is a poor reflection of a facilities offered in a city celebrating Capital of Culture.”

Tavern Company (The)
Nov 20, 2007 by Sarah from Liverpool

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[7] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Food and service.
  • Should be able to book tables with smaller parties.

“Came here last Tuesday night for a meal for my friends 21st. Three of us in total. Our table was in a good location try to sit in one of the booths at the side if you can! Food was lovely, never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Best Mexican food in Liverpool. The portions are massive so, if getting a starter as well, its best to share. I would recommend the Enchiladas, Tacos and Chimichanga. Service was brilliant. No complaints; great restaurant and great night!”

24/7 Cafe
Sep 1, 2007 by Lesley from MOLD

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Food / beer / ambience.
  • Not yet 24 hour opening!

“The "Rose and Crown" is a small, two-room, owner-run country pub situated in Graianrhyd, some six miles south of Mold. A warm welcome is always assured from the jovial owner / host, Rod McGregor. Not a pub to get dressed up to wear your best clobber! Much of the charm and ambience of this pub is owed to the locals and farmers, stopping off for a pint on the way home from work, etc. You won't be disappointed in either the range or quality of the beers on offer or the food! The "Rose and Crown" has won numerous awards (proudly displayed on the walls) from Camra. Similarly, try one of his Welsh beef steaks, or gammon, or some of the other imaginative home-made dishes, cooked to order and to perfection. He does a superb home-made steak and kidney pudding, complete with a crusty suet topping and loads of gravy. Full meals are served from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday evenings. Quite selfishly, (in my opinion), he does actually take Monday night off, so it's no use pleading for a super succulent steak then! He makes some superb baguettes for late lunchtime noshes, as well! Everything is made individually and the quality never waivers. Oh! And I haven't even got started on the curries yet! Highly recommended! The "Rose and Crown" at Graianrhyd, just off the A5104 Corwen road, signposted "Llanarmon Road." Well worth a diversion, even if you're on your way to Scotland!”

Tavern Company (The)

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Loved everything. Food, wine & atmosphere. All at good price.
  • Sometimes two seated tables are little close together. My fiancé had planned to propose but he felt our neighboring table was too close (ah bless!).

“Totally love this restaurant. Every visit to Liverpool centers on a meal at the Tavern. Staff & food is fabulous, & location is great. Loved it. Going over in November again so I'll be definitely in to Tacquito's & more.”

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[1] • Service:[4] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • I liked the blonde sitting next to me.
  • I hated the food, and that waiter.

“I hated. I disliked the waiter, and the food. The best thing you can find in there is the water. And nothing more. I wish anyone, who would go in that restaurant, could share his misery with me. ”

Aug 14, 2006 by Paris from Alabama USA

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The amazing food.
  • It isn't open 24 hours because I'd be there 24/7!

“The La Bussola restaurant is a diamond hidden among the same restaurant along Allerton Road. The food was delicious along with the decor and relaxing atmosphere, the service was superb and the prices are extremely generous. I can't imagine anybody having a bad word to say about this restaurant as it is clearly one of the best in Liverpool.”

  • Classy Joint. Loved the food, hotel rooms and ambiance of the bar.

On the Gastro Style menu I chose the Beer Batter Code / Hake Fish with Chunky Chips and Minty Mushy Peas this was wonderful (so fresh). My friend had the Brisket Steak & Ale Pie which was great too. We really did enjoy everything about the place it just oozes class. I had a guided tour of the hotel rooms and that impressed. I have booked some rooms for my relatives who are due to visit in August 07.”
