Cardwell's at the Plaza

Cardwell's at the Plaza

94 Plaza Frontenac, (Lindberg just South of Highway 40), St. Louis, MO

You would not expect to find a trendy restaurant like Cardwell's located in a mall. The decor is open and sunny with a large bar that is a popular meeting spot for an upscale West County clientele. The fare features an eclectic mix of California and Mediterranean-style cuisines. One specialty is the Mediterranean Sampler, an impressively large platter with feta cheese, couscous salad, a roasted head of garlic, olive bread and Sicilian eggplant relish. The popular four-cheese pizza is topped with goat cheese. Try the Profiteroles for dessert.

  • The menu selection is excellent.
  • The restaurant is entirely too loud.

“Cardwell's at the plaza is entirely too loud. I shared dinner with a group of adults at card well¿s at the plaza. Despite having reservations, we were placed at a table near the bar. The food was excellent; however, the guests at our table had to shout to hear each other due to the excessive noise generated from patrons at the bar. Placing the loudest part of a restaurant, the bar, in the middle of the restaurant creates an offensive atmosphere. If you wish to engage in conversation during your dinner, do not go to card well¿s at the plaza. If you wish to patron the bar, be loud, and be seen by others, card well¿s is the place for you.”
