Curry Village
5677 Brenton Place, Halifax, NS, CanadaWith what is perhaps the most comprehensive Indian-food menu in town, Curry Village offers a number of specialties not found elsewhere. They have an entirely separate (four-item) pickle section on their menu, which also explains in some detail how most of the dishes are made. An appetizing selection of vegetarian dishes make it accessible to all palates, and the cheerfully elegant two-story restaurant has a non-smoking lower floor. Curry Village offers six special curries, one of which is methi gosht, a beef curry flavoured with fenugreek leaves.

“Had one of my worst dining experiences ever at the curry village in Halifax early in 2007.they didn't honor my reservation, made 3 days in advance; service was indifferent and incompetent; beer was lukewarm; food was mediocre, tasted reheated; waited 25 minutes to get the bill. Curry village is a disgrace to Halifax Im surprised the place is still open. Avoid at all costs!”

- The channa masala (chickpea curry) was delicious.
- Service was a bit inattentive and could have been faster.
