China Classic has the most authentic Chinese food in the city, and the best dim sum. The decor is no-frills, but a large aquarium at the entrance acts as a watery "fireplace," mesmerizing customers, especially children. The extensive menu offers excellent Szechuan/Cantonese food that ranges from mild to fiery. Modest prices accompany generous portions and the service is fast. The restaurant is licensed, though there's not a huge variety. For dim sum, be prepared for a short wait.

It's a 15-minute walk west of downtown, or a five-minute drive.
