This old brasserie, with its ad hoc interior, is very famous in Lausanne. It's situated in the very center of town, in the Place St-Francois. Of all the great typical dishes on offer, the cheese fondues remain the most celebrated. The establishment's clientele is quite varied; one first comes to the Romand as a student, and keeps coming here well into retirement. Approximate prices: dishes from Sfr10 to 32.50 (EUR6.25-EUR20.30), fondue is Sfr21 (EUR13.10).
