“The Shangri-La restaurant is on the Silom road near the tower inn hotel but on the opposite side. It has large windows onto the road and looks very 'posh' and expensive. In spite of its appearance it is a very friendly place and very cheap - even by Thai standards. I eat there recently (may 2007) - they served me a whole Peking duck beautifully presented and served by three people, one who carved the skin and another who made up the little pancake-packets of duck skin and the spring-onion-cucumber and sauce. After I had eaten all I could, they had made a soup from the meat and I left with a take-away bag full. All this for 700 baht! The restaurant did not seem too full so I was surprised when about closing time a number of families emerged from some upstairs dining areas looking very satisfied and also with take-away bags. The elderly owner stood at the street entrance to wish them good-bye - as is the Chinese custom.” Popular Restraurants in BangkokView all restaurants in Bangkok
