Established in 1968, this intimate Italian cafe/restaurant, which is based over two floors, has a rustic, slightly old-fashioned feel. Period posters decorate the walls and the tables are covered in bright decorative cloths. The restaurant is deservedly popular with theatre-goers (it is situated within a three minute walk of the Crucible and Lyceum theatres), local couples and families, so it is advisable to book in advance. The food, which is freshly prepared on the premises, more than lives up to its excellent reputation. The menu offers a wide range of home-made speciality pizzas and pastas. The speciality Della Casa offer includes pizza and soup or salad. A more adventurous "Extravaganzas" menu is also available, as is a range of salads, vegetarian options and a "Bambini" menu for under-12yrs. Also, don't forget to try the house wine.
