With branches in many suburban shopping centres, Banjo's has become a Tasmanian success story. It is not just a bakery - the city store is popular with diners all day. All branches have a similar feel with tiled floors and wooden furniture. A large serving counter displays the food and bakery operations are in full view. Eat in or take away. Everything is oven fresh. Pies and rolls, sandwiches and scrolls are all cheap and delicious and the brewed coffee comes in bottomless cups. There is a 10% discount for senior citizens. Additional branches: Glenorchy; Kingston; Rosny; Sandy Bay; Sorell.

“Banjos are not really restaurants -- they are more like a combination bakery and coffee service. The atmosphere is informal, a place where you meet friends to chat. The bakery products are good; the sandwiches are like you would make at home, nothing special so to speak...”
