This stylish two-level seaside cafe is located on the landward end of the impressive Christchurch Pier. The cafe has a clever, elliptical design with tall windows, steel and wooden furniture, and a fine upstairs deck shaded by a gigantic macrocarpa tree. The Waterfront Cafe has an extensive menu with such delights as Lamb Shanks and Oceanview Chowder (NZD10) along with Panini (NZD10.50) and a selection of gourmet flatbreads. Good coffee (NZD3) is served with a chocolate marshmallow fish on the side. They have a large selection of beers and wines including featured wines (NZD30).
