There are great views from the 11th floor of the monumental Kyoto station, and if you walk up the stairs and are in need of some stamina, maybe Edogawa, the specialist eel restaurant, is the place for you. Eel or unagi in Japan is supposed to restore lost strength especially in the hot, humid summers and act as a mild aphrodisiac into the bargain.
Modern, spacious and functional setting all clean lines so you can enjoy that view.
Edogawa offers neatly presented sets such as raw fish, soup, tempura and eel for JPY2,000 or broiled eel on rice for JPY1,400 or raw fish, vegetables, steamed egg custard and soup for JPY1,400. Reasonably inexpensive, healthy food not just for the "well-eeled."
