Friday's Roast Beef House and Piano Bar
150 Elgin St, (Gloucester Street), Ottawa, ON, CanadaAn Ottawa mainstay for over 25 years, this traditional roast beef house is located across the street from the provincial courthouse in the city's downtown core. Patrons will enjoy fine fireside dining in this 1875 heritage building with a relaxed, Victorian atmosphere. An excellent array of entrees is available, including the house specialty of succulent prime rib in five different sizes and a good selection of seafood choices. The wine list is precise, focusing on a small selection of white and red wines from France, Austria, California and, of course, Canada. Upstairs there is a full bar and dancing until 2am.

“The meal was cooked precisely to order. If you like your beef solid and tender (with little marbling) you will like Friday's prime rib. The service is super and very accommodating to all people. I felt like I should have been dressed a little more formally for the atmosphere but staff took no notice. ”
