It's difficult to define a spot where the decor changes constantly and yet consistently maintains good style. Macondo sits atop a hill in one of the picturesque barrios of the city. This place—named for the bar in a One Hundred Years of Solitude, a Latin American novel—is for those who seek out something different. So-called Novo-andina or Nouvelle Andean cuisine is designed with traditional ingredients such as carne de alpaca (alpaca meat) seasoned Peruvian-style but prepared with today's nutritional standards. Beyond the food, mementos including an assortment of Cusqueno handicrafts and paintings are available at reasonable prices. Stop by and experience an alternative side of Cusco.
