Just off Collins Street, Bank Place is one of Melbourne's most traditional colonial lane ways. No vehicle traffic means a passing parade of Collins Street workers, with many stopping for a drink at the Mitre. Down to earth traditional Aussie pub decor helps cement the Mitre's reputation as a true pub in the city. A self-service bistro provides a cheap meal which is above the usual standard of pub food. The varied menu caters for lunch, dinner and snacks. The full bar serves beers on tap and a good selection of local wines. Some liquor is available for takeaway on request.
