“Chef Hiro Yoshida prepares his food with the traditional touch of fresh ingredients that make your mouth dance but his attitude could use a slice of his knife. To explain we were out for an earlier dinner prior to going to the theatre and did not make plans for dinner. We were walking around before the Play and came across Hiro Restaurant. We've both read reviews and heard from friends about the restaurant. Nothing but good reviews! My wife and I asked if there is a table available for two. The hostess looked at Hiro he dropped his eyes and went back to his preparing of food. She replied to us the restaurant is full all tables are booked. Even though out of eight tables and good size bar area only one couple was there. We thank her and turn away while explaining we wish we did book because we heard of the place; however we were just in the area and would at least ask. Hiro gets her attention and says something in Japanese. Next thing we know she is sitting us down. We are pleasantly pleased and thank them. We love the food its was amazing! Its just too bad we were told the place was full and yet the entire time we were their (1 1/2hr) no one other than the first table that was there before us and one other couple came later. It made me think that was odd. My wife and I are always well dressed when we are going to the theater for the night. Its not like we had our jeans on or something, we are well spoken and respect understanding people. I must say its too bad them memory I am left with is this rather then the experience of the cuisine.” Popular Restraurants in TorontoView all restaurants in Toronto
