Housed in an old villa, slightly off the beaten track in historic Thorndon, this eatery is small, friendly and worth the hunt. It serves an excellent seasonal menu. Garden seating, open fires in winter, moderate prices and friendly service characterize the cafe, which is frequented by public servants and other office workers especially for lunch. Meals are hearty and range from pie, peas and spuds to vegetarian delights. Licensed.
