Informal atmosphere and exceptionally friendly and efficient service make this large 180-seat, four-level restaurant cosier and more comfortable than you would imagine. In place now for almost half a century, the decor is folksy, with paintings from the old country adorning the walls. But it is the food everyone comes for: genuine Polish fare with an astonishingly filling CAD5 (CAD5.75 after 5p) special that features perogies, meat or cheese blintzes, potato pancakes or Polish sausage; and that includes homemade soup! The wine is a bargain too.
