The building is 17th century and the food is good, in old-fashioned Norwegian style. During Christmas season, you cannot miss the traditional lutefisk. The first floor has a section reserved for private parties. In the summer, dine outdoors in the enclosed patio. Live Dixieland jazz is played every Saturday from 1:30pm in the cafe on the ground floor, which serves simpler traditional meals, cakes and sandwiches. On the other side of the square is Oslo Cathedral, built around the same time.
