Situated close to King Edward's Bay and Tynemouth Castle and Priory, the upstairs public bar offers spectacular sea views of the North Sea coast. A smaller bar is located on the ground floor adjacent to the extremely busy restaurant. In fact the restaurant is so popular for its Sunday lunches that unless you book in advance you are unlikely to get a table. Frequented more by a mixed clientele, the Rock serves standard carvery meals and also offers some vegetarian options. Allow time for car parking, which is difficult in Tynemouth at most times.
