Overlooked by York Minster, this is a small but perfectly formed cafe/restaurant, in the heart of York. It's popular with locals and tourists alike and is within easy reach of the Yorkshire Museum and the York City Art Gallery. The main dining area is long and narrow with a continental feel to it and the atmosphere is lively and talkative, with gentle jazz playing in the background. As this is quite a popular place, you may have to wait a little before being seated, but it will be worth it. The menu is a mixture of English and European dishes and though it is a little more expensive than some places in York, the food is always good. The fillet of cod costs a little under #10 and the pan-fried pork is just under #11.
