Betty's Tea Rooms6 St Helen's Square, York, United KingdomNever failing to delight in service and food quality, Betty's is one of a number of exclusive high tea rooms found within the same neighbourhood. A genuine treasure in York, this is a popular place for both afternoon tea or an evening meal and you'll find the 20s style dining area, right down to the staff's attire, brings a rather old-time atmosphere. Every evening, between 6pm and 9pm, a pianist plays popular melodies and although there are plenty of seats, the sheer popularity of the place means it is always going to be busy.

“I have been to Betty's tea rooms half a dozen times and I have never been disappointed. My friends and I go to York twice a year - spring and Christmas but we only go to York to go to Betty's. Upsatairs is very open and bright and airy with large windows. A table seat gives a fantastic view over the hustle and bustle of the city. Downstairs is modelled on 'I think' it's the Queen Mary. It is all very dark wood panelling but an extremely cosy feel. The chips are to die for - as is their cinnamon toast. I always have a scrambled egg and bacon muffin which is served with a good dollop of homemade chutney.” 5 of 5 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in York
