Spurriergate Centre (The)St Michael's, Spurriergate, York, United KingdomThis church has been converted into a cafe and retail area, but still with Christianity in mind. Away from the chatter and clatter of the high street, here's a perfect opportunity for peaceful reflection and refreshment (a coffee, a bowl of soup, or something more substantial) beneath 12th century arcades. There is Christian literature on view, and greetings cards for sale, as well as a fair-trade gift shop and, upstairs, fair-trade clothes.

“Lovely building but we had a dreadful experience, despite advertising the fact they are family friendly and they heat baby food, the waitress would not do it. (It was in a sealed shop bought jar) as she said it had meat in it, something I would think appropriate if there was no meat on the menu, but there was. Our food was cold too, so our baby was in good company. Not as advertised.” Popular Restraurants in York
