Set opposite the Jorvik Viking Centre and within sight of Clifford's Tower, this is an elegant French restaurant with a wide range of authentic dishes to offer. As this is a popular restaurant it can get quite busy, so thankfully there are quite a few tables. The main dining area is rather long and thin, so at peak times it can feel a little cramped. The food is generally slightly more expensive than most restaurants in York, but it is served by genuine French waiters, and as they say, you get what you pay for. The pork loin steak costs about #9 and snails with smoked bacon and garlic butter is about #6. But be aware that lunch is only served until 1p on a Saturday.
