Found in the centre of York, this is an enjoyable, lively wine bar and bistro with a vibrant atmosphere and a good choice of food, including a great Thai menu. Oven baked green figs are under #6 and if you're a big meat eater then an 8 oz steak costs a little over #7. The interior is spacious and based on decor from the 80s with some interesting farming implements thrown in for good measure. Its quite dimly lit, and at peak times it can get a bit crowded, but the riverside is only a few yards away and The Gallery, the largest night club in the city centre, is just around the corner.
