One of Leeds' few Thai restaurants, Maitai is perhaps not the height of Thai culinary achievement, but it does offer excellent value for money. A nice, bright exterior leads into a warm and dark interior with examples of Thai culture dotted about here and there. Service is brilliant and the waiting staff have managed to strike that perfect balance of being attentive without ever being intrusive. The large menu - featuring dishes like chicken masman curry - makes choosing very difficult. There are vegetarian alternatives and a good wine list.
