Ovelgonner Fahrhaus

Ovelgonner Fahrhaus is located at the museum harbour, and it is best reached by busline 112. After an excellent meal you can go for a walk along the beautiful Elbuferweg or visit the old ships. The front of the Fahrhaus is white and green, and with its red roof it looks like a Friesian house. The best summertime tables with a great view of the river Elbe are on the terrace. But it is also very comfortable inside particularly on the first floor, where several separate sections provide a perfect ambience for small festive occasions. Fish lovers will enjoy the traditional Hamburg meals. There are several variations on local fish including popular regional recipes. The sophisticated cuisine is rather expensive, however. According to the seasons, there are always plaice, herring and sole, but salmon and crustaceans are also available.
